“I have passed by and seen this business many times since moving nearby but never had a reason to visit. My son wanted JJK books so we went to see what they had and found two. There were plenty of staff walking around asking customers if they needed any help and lots of people in the back room playing games together. “Super cute local bookshop! I've wanted to come here for quite some time but it's a bit of a trek for me, so I've put it off. Glad that I finally made some time to swing by a couple weekends ago! Really great shop with an assortment of all genres, cute stationary, and small gifts. About half the store is dedicated to children's books, toys, etc. Overall the selection is solid, but probably would recommend most for those with kids or young readers!”

“I recently took my daughter and her friends here to work on their group project and also to hang out. It was on a weekday in the afternoon so this place was not too busy. We were able to get a good seating area in the café. I did not order anything but the girls ordered some cookies and a cheesecake. They enjoyed those. The café manager was nice. He later came around to pass out samples of their maple bacon cookie. I thought it would be nasty but it was interesting. I will probably try it again next time. The atmosphere was just right for the girls to work on their project until some rude patron came in and started a personal conversation over the phone out LOUD. I wish B&N would add some seating against the walls and windows for people who just want a quiet spot to study or enjoy a book.”

“Local bookshop that serves most of inner loop as far as local bookstores go. It’s pretty basic inside so doesn’t feel like a romanticized quaint book shop if that’s your thing. I thought they had good book recommendations and I’ve heard they host great events. I bought a book for my son off one of the staff pick shelves and he liked it! I’ve got high expectations coming from blue willow out west and rainy day books in Prairie Village, but still love supporting local.”

“Okay, so not so Jumbo when you see the place, but it is packed with all typos of Judaica. Just don't be shocked when you see how small the place is. They have all types of items including toys for babies and kids, cookbooks, talis, novels, jewelry, bar, and bat mitzvah, gifts and items, holiday items, etc. you're bound to find something. The one employee that I've encountered while shopping there is a huge help and very friendly. Both occasions there seems to be a steady flow of shoppers. Do check the times they are open.”

So thankful for the Swirsky family during those early years and glad they have withstood the test of time. We go at least twice a year to take our used curriculum to sell and purchase new things.
