“Amazingly friendly place: welcoming and cozy, with loads of wonderful books to browse through. I picked up some new reads for myself today, and found a nice book for my child. Definitely a great place to lost in stacks of books and chat with very friendly staff. We can't wait to come back!”
“I first learned about Half Price Books as a freshman in college in the 80's and have been a fan since then. I hope there will always be book stores and libraries.”
“Honestly one of the nicest Barnes & Noble locations I've been to. Three stories, well organized, and easy to navigate. The thriller section had a great selection which is all I really needed — left very happy with my picks.
If you're a book lover, this location is worth the visit.”

“Great night with the family...Rip some packs got some souvenirs....and played guess who💯 to karaoke...love this place didn't make it in time for pre release ( Pitch Black....but so much fun”
“My partner and I stopped by and it was amazing! Reminded me of the book store by Ohio State. It was really cool! It was so much bigger on the inside. It felt like we were in a wizard’s library or something you would find in a Ghibli film. We were pleasantly surprised. The ladies up front helped us find exactly what we were looking for and were really sweet. Highly recommend if you are looking for vintage books. This place is a hidden gem that more people need to visit!”
“This is themed book store has an amazing heart, might have been stabbed, might not know who done it.... yet, but my family enjoyed visiting and they had the greatest selection of murder novels I have ever seen.”
“I visited Blue Willow Bookshop back in October 2014. As you can see from the outside, the shop has a beautiful and classic storefront with large white windows that instantly catch your eye.
Although it’s a local independent bookstore, they have a wonderful and complete book collection. I really enjoyed browsing through their books and ended up buying a few during my visit. Sadly, I didn't take any photos inside the shop back then, but the welcoming atmosphere and the friendly vibe made it a very memorable stop for book lovers.”
“Its clean. I have never seen any one who works there walking around in the store. Like, if you need help, you have to meander around until you find aomeone. But its a Barnes and Nobles, ita clean, shelves organized.”
“Excellent selection of literature, especially zines. I especially appreciated the selection of southern and Texas based books/zines. Loved chatting and getting recommendations from the staff. Also, the gallery upstairs featured several wonderful sculptures from a local artist. This is a must visit on your trip to Houston!”
“I usually like it here, but yesterday 7-2-2025, I came in by myself before it was time to meet my 18 year old daughter next door for lunch. I spent $10 on candles, met my daughter for lunch, and then came back in with her. There was a woman working who id never seen before, and she was ok to me when I was in there alone but as soon as she saw me come in with my teenage daughter, she had a massive attitude and was giving us dirty looks. Not sure what we did. My daughter ended up spending $60 on rocks. Check your attitude, lady.”

“I truly love this location, it’s my little escape ?
They always have what I’m looking for (and somehow what I didn’t know I needed too ?), and the staff is incredibly helpful every time I go.
It’s cozy, calming, and honestly one of my favorite places to be.”
“A wonderful store with friendly staff and an absolute myriad of both used and new curricula, books, and other materials. Definitely recommended for any homeschooling families in Houston.”
“Word-of-mouth brought me here. This is a really nice idependent bookstore, and the staff have done a nice job curating some collections and giving their recommendations.”

“My first time here and I love it. My daughters took me there and I found my collection of books for half price. 💕🩷❤ The people who works there were so friendly, respectful and nice. Good experience”
“New to Houston and first-time in this store. Great experience. Very nice selection. Went in only to inquire about selling books. I'm a book hoarder. Did not intend to shop. Got the info I needed quickly. Could not help myself. Explored the clearance rack. Found the perfect cookbook, I didn't know I needed. For grins, wanted to see if they had books from an author in my hometown of Bastrop. Checked the philosophy section, nope. Got prompt friendly service from the clerk who checked the inventory. She walked me over to self-help section and they had three Ryan Holiday books. He's authored over 20 and not the one I wanted, so no purchase. Better for me to meet him in person and support his bookstore, anyway. But if you want lower cost... HPB is your stop. Can't wait to do a purge of my bookshelf and see how that goes.”

“Dar-us-Salam is a great book store to gather knowledge and strengthen your Deen. It is located next to a masjid and halal store if you find yourself needing to pick up a few Sunnah items and around Salah to make prayer and continue your time gathering knowledge. They have a collection of thobes, Abayas and items for Hajj. May you find everything you need here Insha'Allah.”
“I was a bit overwhelmed by the selection, in a good way. This was my first time at Sacco's. I was there for a baptismal candle, but I have a thing for crosses and religious artwork. I could have spent all day there. If you are looking for any Christian items for church or home, you will find them all here, along with a very friendly and informative staff that are not than happy to help.”
“This was a fun visit, the owners were very sweet and kind people. There are rows and rows of books to look through and the prices are very fair! A great spot to check out for your next read.”
“I bought a very beautiful red and black chapel veil to wear to my mom's funeral. I got a lot of compliments on the veil from friends and family. Veritas is conveniently located in Houston with a large parking lot. You can get statuaries, prayer cards, books and other sacred items for sacrements and daily living. Veritas is a great old school book store.”
“Recently, took a visit to the new location and must say I was amazed at the selection of books and found it even better that they’re planning to form a book club in the future!”
“This store is well stocked with some of the widest variety of Catholic Religious articles in the Houston Area, from statues, to medallions of the saints, to Rosaries, and unique gifts for all occasions! Variety of prayer cards , Bibles, and essential books to enrich our faith with God.”
“Very friendly!! The woman we talked to was nice and there was a boy there that was so helpful in trying to help us find what we were looking for. It turns out it's also connected to the chabad and they even invited us to an event that night! They didn't have much Sephardic siddurs to shop for but thats okay, they had many books so we walked out with other stuff anyway. The chabad in my area is not very friendly so it was so nice to see the kindness they had and at the Houston chabad”
“I stop by here to browse when going to Seiwa, the Japanese grocery store. Appealing selection of a wide range of items. They have some shelves of books written in Japanese, which is rare to see in the US. I am especially interested to see that most items are vintage items from Japan, including video games and vinyl records; they also have an appealing selection of used books and comic books more similar to other used bookstores. Layout and organization are effective and it is a pleasant place to browse; hope to find something I like here.”
“Perfect store with a great selection... Even as an adult, I go and want so many fun things. Glad I have kids to buy for... and they live the toys that come from Tomfoolery!”
“Very nice Catholoc book store. The gentlemen that tended to us was very nice and helped us with the books we were looking for as well as offered other sugestions.”
“Great place on campus to get books, snacks, school supplies, electronics, whatever. They come in handy when you need something on campus and the staff is super nice and helpful#itzNono”
“I started as a Freshman a week ago, and my experience with everyone at this University has been exceptional! I would highly recommend this University to anyone looking for an online School!”

“It had been years since I last stepped into a Barnes & Noble, and walking into the Houston store felt like rediscovering an old friend. I absolutely love this place. Shelves packed with great books everywhere you look, plus all the fun little tchotchkes and gifts you didn’t know you needed until you see them.
And the smell… every true book lover knows that heavenly bookstore scent of paper and ink. It instantly slows you down and makes you want to wander the aisles for hours. I went in just to browse and ended up remembering why bookstores are still one of life’s simple pleasures.”
“Loved visiting this gem the other day! Such a great selection of books, and I loved finding a store that features black authors. The store is very stylish and the staff were so welcoming. I had a great experience and I’ll be back again!”
