Mae Mae somehow ended up with a mystery laceration on her right shoulder (still no clue how that happened ?), and with my regular vet out of town, I was scrambling to find someone who could see her quickly. Another local office, with an incredible front office, wasn’t able to work us in, but they were kind enough to call around and got us in with Pet’s Choice!
And because the universe likes to keep things interesting… In my rush to make it there on time, I accidentally locked both Mae Mae and my keys in the car. ?♀️ So yes, the fire department had to come rescue us before we could even make it to the appointment.
From the very first phone call to the moment we walked through the door, the entire staff at Pet’s Choice was warm, compassionate, and incredibly understanding through all the chaos. Dr. Zuniga worked us into an already packed schedule and took amazing care of my sweet girl, alongside a truly wonderful team of technicians.
I can’t say enough good things about this clinic and the people in it. Grateful doesn’t even begin to cover it. Highly recommend this amazing team! ?

They've treated our pets like family and have been so kind as they walked us through whatever service was needed. When my animals have been through surgeries and ICU stays, the staff at Conover has always answered every question, explained things well, and checked back on them. When one of my pets needed help across the rainbow bridge, they were so supportive and caring throughout the process. I know that I can count on them to do what's best for them, even when it's not what any of us were hoping for. I honestly can't say enough lovely words about them, but I hope they know how much my family and I appreciate them <3

You get that smoky, spicy jerk flavor mixed with creamy mac and cheese, and then the sweet plantain bits pop in and balance everything out. The shredded chicken is juicy, the garlic greens add a little freshness, and those toasted coco bread crumbs on top give it that crunchy finish.
And that little Caribbean hot pepper spritz at the end? ? It wakes the whole dish up.
It’s one of those plates that sounds a little crazy at first, but once you try it, it makes perfect sense. Sweet, spicy, creamy… all in one bite. Definitely not your average mac and cheese.

108 S Austin St, SeguinRated #1 BBQ place in Texas for good reasons. We came from Nashville to Austin for a BBQ crawl and visited four highly decorated restaurants. All were good. Burnt Bean was best. The smoked beef cheek pastrami was a show stopper! Seguin, Tx is a little out of the way but Burnt Bean is absolutely worth going to. We waited in line on a Sunday morning for about an hour. Worth it! Highly recommend!

As the only customers in the shop, we expected a warm welcome, but instead felt like we were interrupting the staff while they were on their phones. Even after mentioning it was our first time in, the response was indifferent. Having managed people for over 20 years, I know how challenging it can be, but I’m sharing this because the quality of the coffee deserves a front-of-house team that wants to be there. I’d love to see the staff's energy match the great vibe of the space. We are not in a hurry to return.

320 W Nolte St, SeguinAbsolutely blown away by my experience at A-Tan Asian Bistro & Sushi Bar. The miso soup was hands down some of the best I’ve ever had — rich, comforting, and packed with flavor instead of tasting like an afterthought like most places.
The wagyu skewers were definitely on the pricey side, but honestly… it’s wagyu, and they were worth every bite. Perfectly cooked, incredibly tender, and full of flavor. You can tell they care about quality here.
Great atmosphere, excellent food, and definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to. Highly recommend if you’re looking for quality sushi and Japanese dishes in the area!
