When we got there Tim met us at the door. Now that I'm making a review I see all the other reviews on Tim and the other reviews are all true. Professional, approachable and not pushy. He gives you the time you need to make up your own decision. You let him know what you want and he delivers. A mattress isn't something you buy everyday, but when you do need one, this is the place to go. Ask for Tim.”
“Most mattresses made my lower back hurt, so I started researching mattress types. ChatGPT led me to consider a latex mattress and suggested I check Sleep Essentials. I walked into the Roanoke store and Lee told me all about how the mattresses are made while I lay on each mattress trying out my two favorites for about 20 min. It felt good lying on those mattresses and I finally decided this was my mattress. Lee’s son and another young man delivered it the next evening. They took my old mattress away and answered all my questions while they put it together perfectly. I have had it for two days and already my back doesn’t hurt!! At all!!! These mattresses aren’t cheap but I think it will be well worth it. At my age, I probably will never need another mattress (60+).”

“Just picked up this incredible piece of cable end from the USCGC Tamaroa at Black Dog Salvage in Roanoke, VA. The Tamaroa is a legendary ship with a long and heroic history of saving lives—including during the infamous 1991 “Perfect Storm.” While other ships fled from the monster storm, the Tamaroa and her brave crew charged headlong into the worst of it to rescue others, proving their unwavering commitment to service and heroism.
One of the employees at Black Dog Salvage was kind enough to bring me into the back and show me some cable and other relics from this incredible ship. He was going to cut me a small section of cable, but then we found this complete cable end instead! Owning a piece of history like this—one that endured the storm’s fury and carried out countless rescues—means the world to me. It’s a powerful reminder of the courage, sacrifice, and dedication of the men and women who served on her. So proud to own this amazing piece of maritime history! Thank you Black Dog Salvage for preserving such an incredible piece of history!”
