“I brought my 2019 Mercedes-AMG E63 S here for a pre-purchase inspection before buying the car, and I couldn’t be happier with how thorough they were. I was purchasing the car from out of state, so having someone I could trust to really go through it was extremely important to me.
They took their time, documented everything they found with detailed photos and videos, road-tested the car, and even went further with things I specifically wanted checked, including borescoping the cylinders. They pointed out minor oil seepage and coolant residue rather than just giving me a generic “everything looks good,” explained what they thought was going on, and ultimately gave me a much better understanding of the actual condition of the car.
Communication throughout the process was great, and I never felt like they were trying to sell me unnecessary repairs or make small issues sound worse than they were. Their overall assessment was that the car was in fantastic shape, and I feel considerably more comfortable moving forward with the purchase because of how thoroughly they inspected it.
If you’re looking for an independent shop in the Kent/Seattle area for a German performance car, especially for a pre-purchase inspection, I’d absolutely recommend Mark and his team at Auto Werkstatt. They were thorough, honest, easy to communicate with, and gave me the confidence I needed to make a decision on a fairly significant out-of-state purchase.

“We took our car to another tire shop which shall not be named. They told us that the inner and outer tie rods were loose and that we'd need to order new parts as well as get an alignment. They couldn't get the part in, so we called Point S.
They got the parts and got it up on the rack, only to discover that everything was tight: we only needed an alignment! They could have made some money and put the new parts on anyway, but they told us we didn't need it and did an alignment. Saved us money big time.
We'll be coming back to this one. ??”

“I had a great experience with Bratch Auto Body & Repair after dealing with issues from a previous repair done that did not hold up due to paint adhesion issues.
From the beginning, they were straightforward and knowledgeable. They took the time to explain what likely went wrong with the prior paint job and answered my questions clearly without trying to upsell anything.
I received quotes from multiple shops, and Bratch came in at around $1,000, which was the most reasonable option. More importantly, the quality of the work and the turnaround time were both excellent.
What really stood out to me was the attention to detail—they didn’t just fix the bumper, but also vacuumed and cleaned the interior and exterior of my car, which I did not expect.

“Puget Sound Alignment has absolutely earned my trust and loyalty.
My mechanic referred me to them for an issue outside his wheelhouse. After I dropped off my Ford Edge, Mark called me shortly after and asked about the vehicle’s history—specifically whether the front driver’s side had ever been in an accident.
As it turns out, I had been in a significant accident on that side. Mark explained that while they could fix the issue, he recommended I first return to the shop that did the original repair and see if my insurance company would reopen the claim since the problem was likely related. I followed his advice, and the repair ended up being fully covered by insurance.
Mark could have easily done the work himself and charged me for it, but instead he chose honesty and integrity. That says everything.
Because of that experience, Puget Sound Alignment has my business going forward. When I need alignment work, I won’t go anywhere else.”

Franklin's took a half-finished, badly-done carb job from another well-known VW shop in the area and really turned it around! Replaced my exhaust, which had so many leaks my dual carbs weren't tunable. My '73 bus has never run quieter, no more dieseling when I turn off the engine after being on the highway. Very satisfied. The three young men working were so kind and patient and found a big punctured oil leak issue, advised me not to drive the hour home on it, helped push my car to a safe location to get it towed, and didn’t charge me anything for their time, services, and the oil they poured into my car.
