The excitement starts the second we walk toward the box. Everything is so beautifully made and you can tell there’s real care behind every detail. It’s rare to find something that feels this special and still made with such high-quality ingredients. Watching our dogs so happy honestly makes us happy too.

Noe Valley Pet Company
1451 Church St, San Franciscoi’ve had noe valley pet company on my list of “places to visit” and was recently able to after i started walking a friend’s dog in the same area. they have a great selection of treats and care items and their staff is always sweet to the dog i walk (he’s an anxious dog).
recently, i purchased a light up collar for my dog to use for night walks. much to my dismay, it began having issues after a few uses. after visiting the store and telling the staff about the collar, they let me know that they’d look into solving the problem.
the next day, they let me know that they’d look into contacted the collar company to replace the faulty collar and that next time i was around to come and get a new one, free of charge. the way they dealt with the issue showed their great customer service and support.
thanks again noe valley pet!

Virginia's Professional Pet Grooming
1800 San Jose Avenue, San FranciscoTook my 4 month old puppy to Virginia's for her first grooming. They were very professional, walking me through the basics of brushing and how I should maintain her. They also shared photo updates on her progress and how she had been holding up. Finally, I picked up my puppy and she was pretty relaxed and calm, even though it was her first grooming and we were worried that she will freak out. It was clear that they treated her really well, and my puppy loved them. Definitely recommend

The Dog Barber
1903 Market St, San FranciscoMy dog is twelve years old and blind, but she's always been taken really good care of at Dog Barber. It's hard to find a really good groomer, and I trust them with my dog. I saw her being groomed on the table — she can't see, but she's not scared at all. My dog is really nice and cute, but it's not just that, the people here just take really good care of her. I'm extremely grateful. This simple thing makes me feel like this is a community worth staying in, and I wanted to share with the rest of the dog owners.

Bathing Dog
3208 Irving St, San FranciscoMy Shiba Inu who loves water jumped into the pool of standing water at the old Sutro bathhouse foundation at Lands End. She was very wet and stinky and the towel I used to dry her off was black with dirt. Clearly I could not take her home in this condition. Searching nearby dog bathing businesses, I found and called The Bathing Dog and thankfully they could take her right away. I was told to come back in 2 hours but I got a call from the owner after only 1.5 hours saying she was ready. I came back to find a fluffy soft good smelling dog and my leash was cleaned as well. The owner is 79 years old(!) and very friendly especially if you can speak conversational Cantonese as I can. He is hard of hearing but it was not an issue for me. Cash only. $65 to baths and dry including ear cleaning. I tipped him $7. It was a great experience and I look forward to bringing my dog again when she needs a bath and dry. Photo is of her after her bath at home.

Kent's Kanines
3450 Sacramento St #310, San FranciscoDeborah has been hand stripping our Norwich Terrier for the last five years. I was desperate to find a new groomer after a bad experience when Gus was a puppy. After extensive research, I was lucky to come across Kent's Kanines. Deborah and I had a long phone conversation regarding Gus's first grooming experience where the groomer had muzzled Gus. He was traumatized. Deborah's approach to Gus was measured, calm and comforting. He was a little wonky on the table at first, but after a few grooming sessions, he figured it out, with Deborah's guidance. Gus looks forward to Deborah's visits, which really says a lot. We appreciate her patience and skill with Gus. We LOVE that she comes to our home. It's a great environment for grooming, Gus feels comfortable and there are no other groomers/dogs making him anxious. Highly recommend Kent's Kanines for your dog grooming needs!

Lotus Veterinary House Calls
825 Moultrie St, San FranciscoWe are incredibly grateful to Dr. Dasho and his team for the outstanding care they provided for our large, fearful dog. After several challenging experiences at a traditional veterinary office, we reached out to his team for help, and we’re so glad we did.
They were kind, punctual, professional, and exceptionally skilled. Thanks to their thoughtful approach, we were able to complete all of our dog’s vaccinations with minimal stress in a convenient setting outside the home, which helped avoid territorial issues.
They guided us in choosing medications to keep him calm and followed up afterward to make sure he was doing well. We were very impressed by how confidently and compassionately they handled him.
They also took the time to walk us through the risks and benefits of different options, helping us make informed, personalized decisions tailored to our dog’s needs.
We highly recommend Lotus to anyone looking for a low-stress alternative to a traditional vet visit.

Healthy Pets Veterinary Hospital
373 W Portal Ave, San FranciscoI’ve been taking my dog to Dr Adam for a couple of years now, he’s by far my favorite vet and I’ve tried several. I also LOVE Andrew at the front office. Their appointments are set up in 15 min increments I believe so you pay for the times used, it’s amazing (I used to pay the same amount for an average appt of 7 min w/o much info at all). I typically spend 30 min and Dr Adam is a wealth of knowledge so I love picking his brain. He shares about home cooking/bone broth, massage techniques, supplements, home teeth cleaning etc. My dog Lily loves him bc at the same time as he teaches me something new he massages her. He’s so lovely and so extremely helpful with minimal interventions. He never pushes unnecessary procedures which I love. He usually has very basic, straightforward solutions, many which haven’t costed me a dime. He’s a partner in health and one of the few good ones left. Bless his heart.

Polk Street Animal Hospital
1830 Polk St, San FranciscoThis is an excellent small clinic and the main reason is Dr. Cote.
I have been bringing cats and dogs to him for more than 14 years, have dealt with quite a few veterinarians in Mountain View, San Mateo and San Francisco, and can say that he is one of the best I have worked with. My first dog developed a rare autoimmune disease and he recognised it almost immediately. More importantly, over all these years he has remained the same person, he is very knowledgeable, practical, and genuinely interested in what happens to his patients after they leave the office.
One thing I really appreciate is that he follows up. With difficult cases he tends to call later to see how things are progressing, which is something I encounter much less often than I used to.
I also think some of the older criticism of the front desk was fair. The medical side of the practice was consistently stronger than their reception. On my last visit, however, Kalista was handling reception and she was amazing.
There is usually metered parking available very close to the clinic

Sometimes we walk by on walks and every time he runs right up the stairs begging to go inside and play with his pals! I know he is safe and well taken care of. It is expensive but considering that they pick him up and drop him off and that they do such a good job and it is a small group with a high staff to dog ratio, it is definitely worth it! SF Puppy Prep
251 6th St, San FranciscoTo be honest, I was a little cynical about Doggy Daycares in general but I am SO glad we signed up with our terrier pup Ziggy. From the first play session we noticed a difference in Ziggys behavior regarding playing, biting, and obedience. The focus the pups get from the teachers and the reinforcement of good behaviors is fantastic and helped to fast track Ziggy's training. The reports and feedback are thoughtful and actionable and although his training is not 'done' it's advanced much more than I anticipated. I thoroughly recommend this school if you're able to sign up.

Dan Perata Training and Boarding
80 Elmira St, San FranciscoWhen we adopted our Chihuahua mix Mingus he had a real chip on his shoulder and was practically feral adn very aggressive to strangers and all dogs. He couldnt walk properly on the leash, be he was too busy barking and lunging at all dogs, looking for a fight around every corner. Me and my husband could not agree on training tactics and we feared we would never be able to have visitors over again after he bit my mother in law.
After doing Dan's 5 week training program, Mingus is a new dog. He's calmer, and more secure in himself. He can walk on a leash, barks less at other dogs, and actually has boundaries that he can follow. Me and my husband all know the same training commands which helped our arguments about Mingus to subside.
After we had our first child, Dan was kind enough to come to our house for a free at home training session to help strategize on how to get Mingus acclimated as we feared his aggression would flare up again with our new baby. Luckily this has never happened bc Mingus is truly a completely different/better dog bc of Dan's services.

3065 16th St, San FranciscoJulian was our game master and they were really good.
Some things to keep in mind:
- the rules or guidelines should be spoken at a speed that everyone can comprehend. First timers or anyone who may not have English be their first language may have difficulty following.
- Asking us afterwards repeatedly if we had any questions was a bit much. It’s a closed-ended question. Instead maybe ask an open-ended like what we enjoyed or found difficult?
- The Fair Game room was fun but the opening video doesn’t provide a story and give us a motive to get out before the time reaches zero.
Thank you!
