“I am a frequent customer of Home Goods and have four within 20 minutes of our home. I just received AMAZING service from SOFIA S. at Dublin Home Goods. I am 78 and have a brace on my leg. When I asked for help with a bench, a blond woman told me she was with a customer and I’d have to wait. She did not call anyone.

However, SOFIA S. spotted me immediately and not only carried out the bench, but helped me clear every thing out of the car to squeeze it in, then put the other items back in the trunk. What a really kind person and an employee who knows what customer service is! SHOUT OUT TO SOFIA S. (not sure if she spells her name “Sophia.””

“The security wasn't over the top like it seems to be at a lot of Bay Area Ross stores, so it was a much more relaxed and enjoyable shopping experience. The shelves were kinda disorganized, but not terrible. I got a large kitchen mat and a 4 piece twin sheet set for $28 after tax. Not the deal of a lifetime, but definitely not bad!”

Employees are not terminated, disciplined, or provided formal performance documentation, yet are left without stable income or scheduling consistency. This practice creates financial insecurity and lacks transparency or accountability.

I am submitting this statement to formally document concerns regarding current scheduling practices at Ross Dress for Less.
Recently, work hours have been reduced or removed for certain employees based on management’s assessment of whether they meet internal performance standards. These reductions have occurred without formal termination, written disciplinary action, or documented performance improvement plans being provided to the affected employees.
Despite the reduction or elimination of hours, employees remain active on the schedule with no guaranteed days or hours. This results in ongoing uncertainty regarding income and availability expectations, while employees are still considered employed by the company.
At this time, it is unclear what specific criteria are being used to determine these scheduling decisions, or whether employees are being given a clear opportunity to understand performance concerns or improve upon them. The lack of formal documentation and communication has made it difficult for employees to plan financially or professionally.
I am providing this statement for HR’s awareness and review, and to request clarification on company policy regarding scheduling reductions, performance standards, and employee rights related to consistent work hours and performance feedback.
