Pet Grooming

all about the DOGue salon & spa
3850 CA-123 STE 105, EmeryvilleWe visited this past Saturday with our two Aussies. They have a lot of anxiety and we were nervous about moving to a new groomer. Aussies are double coated and can't be buzzed etc. Lena scheduled our appointment and even offered obedience classes to help with their anxiety (which we will be trying ?). Drop off was smooth and pick up was hours earlier than expected. The price was more than reasonable given the type of dogs and coats. They look amazing and we got a full report of how they did. We are very grateful to the all about DOGue team and will be coming back regularly if they'll have us ??haha

Wondrous Brewing Company
1306 65th St, EmeryvilleMaybe my favorite local brewery. The beer is always tasty with a broad range of styles (including malt-forward beers), the crowd is chill, and staff are friendly. A total hiidden gem!

Doyle Street Cafe
5515 Doyle St #10, EmeryvilleI came here for brunch and ordered the Ultimate Benedict. It was so good. Never had a Benedict with mushrooms before and it was amazing. Not to mention their house-made potatoes, SO GOOD! Got the organic chai which was ok, more like a holiday drink without much chai but overall flavor was good.
The service is great. Highly recommend this place.

Butter Pecan Bakeshop
6472 Hollis St, EmeryvilleI was introduced to Butter Pecan Cookie Shop by my sister and mom a few months ago, and it’s honestly become a sweet treat of mine. I live within walking distance to the Emeryville location, and I literally have to stop myself from getting a cookie whenever I want to. My absolute favorite flavor that I’ve had so far has been the peach cobbler cookie! The signature butter pecan cookie is always delicious as well. Staff members are always extremely friendly, cookies are always fresh, the store is always clean, and there are always a variety of options to pick from. From the staple cookies to the seasonal items, you can’t go wrong! Treat yourself – you deserve it.

Saucy Asian (Emeryville)
5614 Bay St, EmeryvilleLocated on the Bay Street Plaza in Emeryville, on the second floor next to Barnes and Nobles. Saucy Asian is a Korean fusion restaurant. It’s a trendy place and is pretty busy all the way to closing time. We came in today after shopping at the new Tokyo Central across the street for a late dinner. We ordered at 7:58pm and did not receive our food until 8:26pm which was quite long wait for what we ordered. There is some indoor seating as well as outdoor seating.
As for food we ordered:
- Saucy Asian Bowl
- Saucy Asian Fries
- Island Style Poke Bowl (combo: half tuna/half Salmon)
All the food were good, have no complaints, but have had better elsewhere. Overall, if we’re in the mood for their food, we would come back.

Comeback Cafe
6009 Christie Ave, EmeryvilleSupporting local business in Emeryville. Note that this place is on Christie opposite to FedEx, not inside the public market.
The noodles, while not the best pho in the bay area, they are decent. Both noodles they served came with delicious broth. Unlike many pho places, these didn't leave you with a dry mouth. Wish their beef can be softer and more tendered - that's the only (but critical) place to lose shine. You know - always room for improvement. Can't wait to come back and try their banh mi.

Demiya
5959 Shellmound St, EmeryvilleI am unfamiliar with Yoshoku but what I tried here stands on its own. We were at the opening of the Emeryville Art Exhibition and popped over to Public Market for a bite to eat. I went somewhere else while hubby ordered here. He ordered the Beef Shabu-Shabu Curry Rice Level 2 (spicy) but when the called his name only to say they were actually out of what he wanted. They offered the Tori Curry Rice (stewed chicken) as he did not want a deep-fried protein. For the inconvenience, they gave him a side of pickled and mixed spinach into the stew. I had a taste and it was delicious. Fast forward to last night. After grocery shopping I didn't feel like making dinner so we headed to Demiya. Waited our turn to order at the computer. There were two or three people working behind the counter in the kitchen area. Again, they were out of the Beef Shabu-Shabu so we opted for the Buta-Shabu Curry Rice (spicy). The portion was generous and I was happy we decided to share or we would each have had leftovers. We still had room for dessert at another stall but decided to pass. So yeah, I am a fan of their curry rice. Not too crazy about having to tap my order at the computer and they only have one. If you are behind a slow poke like me, it might be a bit of a wait. Also wish there was another table near the front of their stall and the vegan Mexican restaurant beside it. Their food sounds delish, too.

Rudy's Can't Fail Cafe
4081 Hollis St, EmeryvilleA great place for breakfast. You order at the entrance and then you can seat anywhere. I got the Tower of Power. Really good and very filling. I also liked all the different table displays.

Arizmendi Bakery & Pizzeria
4301 San Pablo Ave, EmeryvilleAll the Arizmendis have vegan cheese for their pizzas. They have the option of their pizza of the day, which is always vegetarian and seasonal, and cheese pizza. They also have a gf option. They always have a vegan soup as well as a few vegan pastries and usually a vegan focaccia (a fave, especially with red sauce). Arizmendi has been around for decades and I love supporting a worker-owned business. They also have espresso drinks and non-dairy milks options. Check out their pizza, salad, soup and pastry daily forecasts on their website. Updated from previous review on 2026-01-01

The Sunday
3986 Adeline St, EmeryvilleThe wait was long. They only have an online menu, so ask for the wifi and scan it to browse while waiting. I would recommend sitting outside if the weather permits. Inside is smaller, and completely hard surfaces, seats included, so if there is a small group in there enjoying themselves or talking loudly, you will not be able to hear yourself think. Until the food gets there. When the food gets there, the rest of the world disappears. I ordered the truffle omelet. The food portions are very generous. It was something I had never tasted anything like before, and the same goes for thier French toast. The food was pricy but well worth it. The coffee was too expensive. I will absolutely go again, but have my cup of coffee before I get there.

Good To Eat
1298 65th St Suite #1, EmeryvilleFood: High quality Taiwanese dishes that are hard to find elsewhere in the East Bay. Some dishes felt too small given the price and what they were (e.g. noodles). We didn't over order, but were on the threshold of still feeling somewhat hungry.
Service: There could be improvements to the efficiency of the seating service. We waited close to half hour to get seated even though there were a lot of open tables. Once seated the service and speed at which the food came was good.
