“I LOVE this place. This store is a plant lover's dream. I came to visit from Florida so they had tons of exceptionally rare plants I've never seen and beautifully potted. One of most unique things about this store is you can customize your plant, meaning you can choose any plant in the store and ask for it to be potted in whichever planter you wish (even if the planter already has a plant in it, they'll just repot your desired plant into that pot). Its SO amazing! They have lots of statement plants like your australian bottle trees, song of india, various cactus, and so many more. Also some very unique volcanic rock vases. This is the place for interior designers too as they had some cool items you can display in the house such as large driftwood pieces. Honestly wish to keep this place a best kept local gem but they are very deserving of the business, answered all my questions, and loved plants as much as I do!”

“Ten out of five stars for Melynda and her all volunteer Quirk crew for creating the People's Free Boutique in an unused corner space in DTLA, providing much needed, intentional, and high quality clothing and supplies for those of us who lost everything in LA's January fires. My family and I came to Quirk and were welcomed with care and respect, mirroring the quality and thoughtfulness of the clothing offered, and being given the dignity of choice to dress ourselves in clothing that we prefer. The Quirk crew were professional and kind, dealing with a gradually melting down child and frazzled adults, recognizing and validating the collective trauma of their guests, and providing a space of hope, solace, and care out of the goodness of their hearts. I was able to restock much of my professional and casual wardrobe, grab some high quality toiletries, kids clothing, and an epic penny board for my kid. I cannot recommend a visit to the People's Free Boutique and Melynda's Quirk store on 9th enough!”

“The couple who owns the store is so sweet!! Prices feel pretty average for LA and the selection is really good. You’re likely to find once-in-a-lifetime type pieces like I did, a genuine leather moto jacket that it’s killing me not to have purchased. There are also sale racks and the music is terrific. Don’t be fooled by how it looks closed from Santa Monica Blvd if you’re driving by, the entrance is in the back. It’s also right on the 4 bus line just between two stops, so it’s easy to get to that way.”

“Went in to try to find an outfit to go out in tonight, seemed bleak at first but after some solid hunting found two badass sexy dresses to wear! My bf left the clothes area a mess and after the worker saw me clean it up and hang up what he left behind, she charged him 15 a piece for what he got , which weren’t higher end looking or uncommon by any means ( still nice quality and he looks amazing in everything ) and only charged me 5 a piece for my higher end pieces ???? (pro tip: just have them see you clean up after yourself or whoever you came with haha) They have some REALLY badass /unusual / super high quality furniture sets and pieces in here! And get new inventory twice a week, I can’t wait til we get our own place so we can come back here and cop some!!”

My ears arn't pierced so its always a pleasure coming here to find a wide variety of clip on earrings. I always leave with at least one item. Still to this day my favorite item was vintage YSL bustier top. I can't remember what i paid for but i remember the price was really good. Service was great as well!!! Love all the girls who work there and love marie the owner and her husband. Over all, good vibes and will be back again once I get paid ;) the place is addictive.”
