Land Bark Pet Supplies
3200 Riverside Blvd, SacramentoIn Land Park and looking for a pet supply store, we thought why not "Land Bark." My hubby and I were in the need of 2 things and staff member Angel was amazingly helpful! She showed us how to use the Spot Handi Drink Instant Dog Drinker we purchased, as well as their spout outside to fill it up! Definitely convenient for parks and road trips! She also recommended the company we love, Earth Rated for poop bags! We got the leak-proof Lavender-Scented, the bags are nice and long and they really block the odors! I would definitely recommend this small business that focuses on the wellbeing of your fur child! They have been in business now for 14 years. We'll be back to explore more!

A nice clean and close shave for a little guy who came in a matted little mess and has a super fast growing coat. And he even got his face and feet cleaned up which is no easy feat! We will 100% be back! And loved that I could get a 5pm appt as well!

I can’t recommend The Rich Groomer enough; I’ve never once been disappointed. The atmosphere is always warm and welcoming, and it’s clear how much Cam genuinely cares about every dog that comes through the door.
Even with reactive dogs, he’s calm, patient, and makes them feel completely comfortable. Both of my dogs are always so excited to see him and leave looking (and feeling) amazing. I can’t rave enough about Cam and this establishment. Hands down the best grooming experience out there!

B Elegant Pet Services
2501 Avalon Dr, SacramentoAbsolutely the best in the business! Jamie is a true dog whisperer, she’s been grooming my dogs for over 10 years and I wouldn’t trust anyone else. She runs a one-woman operation with a heart of gold, always putting the animals first. From grooming high-risk dogs that chains refuse to handle, to brushing teeth, cleaning anal glands, and even spotting potential health issues....she does it all with care, consistency, and incredible knowledge.
Jamie doesn’t just groom......she guides. She’s pointed out growths, dental issues, weight changes, and more. Before I call the vet, I go to her. She offers advice, treatment options, and questions to ask that have saved me time and money. She’s even helped with leash training and nutrition. Reasonably priced and truly one-of-a-kind, Jamie is a gem!

Pet Care

Sacramento Animal Hospital
5701 H St, SacramentoWe have had such bad experiences with vets prior to this, so this was a lovely change. Everyone was helpful and approachable. We really appreciated how cat friendly the office was and how upfront the office was with costs and procedures. It was also reassuring how many of the staff from our vet to the front desk use the same medication our cat was prescribed for their cats at home.

VIP Petcare Wellness Center
4710 Freeport Blvd, SacramentoI had such a great experience with VIP Petcare! The pre-registration process was simple and quick, and once I arrived, I was in and out within 15 minutes. I really appreciated that they didn’t try to upsell me on unnecessary services. In fact, they reviewed what I had chosen and even told me I didn’t need one of the add ons. That honesty goes a long way. The best part was the price. What I paid was extremely affordable. I usually leave the vet paying around $500 per cat, but this visit only cost me $52. I’ll definitely be returning and highly recommend VIP Petcare to other pet parents.

Broadway Veterinary Hospital
1632 Broadway, SacramentoMy little queen needed some help with derm issues so I took a chance on a new vet (new to us, rather) & I’m very happy I did. Sasha and the team were kind & loving to my sweet baby & gave her the royal treatment she deserves; equally awesome, they explained everything to me, gave us ample products for the queen’s treatment, and they listened/cared about my concerns. Perhaps best of all, I told them Lu has anxiety around other dogs and they performed her intake from outside by our car. I once had a vet in Sacramento forget i was in the waiting room while I tried to be patient and wait for them to come to me; broadway’s lobby is small but comfortable so I don’t feel I must keep reminding staff we exist (apparently sometimes it’s not enough to be physically oresent?$. We shall be back with any future issues the pack may have!
Edit: my review above from 2023 holds firm as my sweet little baby has an ear issue and Broadway Vet has been so great to work with, Dr Sasha very genuinely cares about Lu and that matters 100,000%. Literally the best in town.

My dog loves the trainers and enjoys coming to class, plus it's a great way to tire him out when the weather is bad. We've been bringing our dog here practically since we got him, starting with the puppy socialization classes and now continuing with weekly classes to reinforce his training and learn new skills. I really appreciate that they offer classes throughout the week on a variety of topics with different trainers, so it never feels stagnant or repetitive. 3D Dog Training Sac
4710 Freeport Blvd, SacramentoMy puppy was 6 months old when I came across Devon at 3D Dog Training flyer at Pet Food Express. I did a private session and from that moment forward I just knew she was a perfect fit. I ultimately moved ahead with the board and train which was by far the best decision I ever made. Fast forward over a year later and I continue with her monthly membership service. I learn more and more each training session. And let me just say the progress my dog continues to make I could not have done it without Devon. She goes out of her way to make sure I succeed in training my dog and has also given me the skills on how to be the best dog owner. I highly recommend Devon. She has great training methods and no training question goes unanswered.

American River Canine
4417 Baron Ave, SacramentoAmerican River Canine saved our family! About two years ago, my fiancé and I adopted a German Shepherd named Bear from the Sacramento SPCA. Bear was, and still is, an energetic, fun-loving, sweet dog. He just wasn't friendly towards other dogs or cats. Bear would growl, lunge, and chase any other animal near him. Walking him just around the block was challenging because he would tug and try to go after other dogs and cats. It turns out that what we were interpreting as aggression, was actually pent-up excitement in Bear. Deric's extensive knowledge in psychology along with his years of experience working with dogs opened our eyes on how to better understand and communicate with Bear. Deric helped us work with Bear on commands like "place", "here", "out" and "leave it". Working on these commands seemed more like training for us humans, but it all paid off in the end. Nowadays, Bear is a much more obedient dog who can be in the same room as our cats without growling or trying to run after them. Walking Bear is no longer a scary activity. It is something we can do with ease. We even take Bear out in public places like Home Depot, PetSmart, and Iron Horse. We are also in the process of adopting another dog for our family too! Both Bear and our newer dog attend Deric's doggie daycare, The Nature of Dogs, twice a week. I can honestly say that if it weren't for Deric, we probably would have rehomed Bear. I am forever grateful for the dedication and insight Deric has given to our family. I would 100% highly recommend American River Canine for any of your canine training needs!

5960 S Land Park Dr #305, SacramentoLucky Buddy and Janet in particular are life savers! I have three large dogs that I have trouble trusting anyone to care for. I've always had my parents take care of my pets and Vice versa. When I moved too far away from them I interviewed about a dozen pet sitters and Janet blew them all out of the water. I love to hike and back pack but two of my boys can't handle steep hills or overnight trips anymore and Janet takes excellent care of them for me. She sends me pictures and updates, goes above and beyond with care, and respects all of my wishes and concerns. Dexter and Walter love her and I love being able to get away and know they're safe and cared for. Can not say enough good things.

Albree Dog Training
3501 59th St, SacramentoI have been training with Bonny my german shepherd with Allbree. Before Bonny was in this 3 weeks training away, that did nothing. When I picked her up she was skinnier and afraid much more that when she went in, and trained at all.
Bonny is 6 years old German Shepherd, reactive. After we started with Alan, with recommendations and Alan answering question and updates, she is doing significantly better, working to get her more confident. Alan and Renee offers a variety of tips and tools, and accommodating Bonny to get her trained and still some ways to go. She is very afraid and I got her not as a puppy. I strongly recommend their training.

They have a really nice fenced off area where you can get to know a dog you're interested in adopting. They have a very nice cattery where you can see all of the cats that are available for adoption or upcoming for adoption. You scan a QR code for any of the animals that you're interested in adopting and somebody comes to meet you. You're able to ask more questions and able to get to know the animal one-on-one. I highly recommend looking here if you're looking for a family pet. They also run great adoption specials and free vaccination clinics. West Coast Pet Memorial Services - Sacramento
4601 Pell Dr, SacramentoLosing a pet is like losing a family member. We can't tell you how helpful Abigail (Abby) has been helping us throughout the process. She made sure that our dog was respected every step of the special services and cremation process. She was patient, kind, and understanding of our wants and needs. Because of Abigail, we would 1000% recommend West Coast Pet Memorial Services in Sacramento. And because of her, I know that our dog was loved and cared for. Thank you so much, Abigail, for showing our family love and compassion through our grieving. Thank you for answering our questions 3-5 times over and over again. Thank you for respecting our dog, Meebo. We appreciate you and West Coast Pet Memorial Services. For those of you who've lost a pet and decide to get them cremated, I would highly suggest this place. Before the special services (if you want this option) and cremation process, you can have a private good-bye with your pet. They have a private room via appointment only and has water and coffee. The private room viewing with your pet allows you to say good-bye one last time before they are taken to get special services and cremated. Special services is where you get can clay prints or ink prints of paws or noses of your pet, get a lock of your pets hair, etc done for you to have as a memory. In the hallway entrance and private viewing room, there are also urns that you can choose from to put your pets ashes in. I like that there were a lot of options available for us to choose from. Once again, I would highly suggest this place.
