couch 3x the cost and an Aurhaus couch which was great and reasonable but not exactly the right size ,shape or color. I read review after review on Whataroom
couches, ordered at least 12 different swatches before buying. I figured if I hated it, the price was so great I could replace in five years when my kids weren’t covered in food. I couldn’t be happier, it’s perfect and the trillium cushions are a dream!”

“Excellent place to get furniture for office space or home office. I would rather get used good office furniture instead of new junky stuff that offers no support. I need to furnish a lil art studio space with some chairs, including one I would use often to paint so I came here again to shop.

“Large La-z-boy showroom with a lot of different selections. As you enter there is always someone ready to help show you around. I hadn't used a La-z-boy in decades and they sure have changed. In my opinion, there are too many choices and it was very overwhelming at first. It would have been simpler for a customer to have a few styles with a lot of customizable options. Once you narrow down the style, you can check out a swatch of the material to take home and match it with your colors at home.
Be careful about the prices though. Compare online as well as in the store since they are not always the same. The store may be willing to price match the online price. And there are always a few of the pieces at a really marked down price just to bring you in the store. Regardless La-z-boy is expensive.”
“Over the weekend, I took my mom to this antique shop since she loves browsing antiques. It was our first time visiting, and we were so impressed by the lovely selection of furniture and all the cool, quirky treasures throughout the store. We spent over an hour there and honestly could’ve stayed even longer.
The older woman who runs the shop is absolutely adorable, she makes her way around with her little walker, chatting with everyone and cracking jokes. I believe her son may work with her, and there was another gentleman there as well who was just as friendly and funny. The atmosphere was so welcoming; everyone in the shop seemed to be having a great time.
It’s a fun way to spend some time in San Jose, whether you’re on your own or with loved ones. I’ll definitely be back!”

“I have been buying furniture from Scandinavian Designs (SD) ever since they took over the similar Homestore in Cupertino, CA. They have the best deals and warranty on Stressless Chairs. I love mine, since they come in 3 sizes (like sweatshirts) and it fits 5' 2" me perfectly! I decorated around it's beautiful and timeless ocean blue 'Petrol' color with ocean, lake, and sand colors.
There are also some beautiful and affordable well made furniture and accessories in their Clearance Center. I saved $800 on a handcrafted cherry dresser that had an almond-sized chip on one edge of the top. A fingerful of woodfiller and a dab of stain and it was quickly fixed to where one would not notice unless it was pointed out. Also bought the matching bed and chest at discount at other SD stores and some nice framed art prints, lamps, etc.
I moved to NV during Covid (along with many other Californians!!) but still check SD when I am back in San Jose or need a break on my long drive up Hwy 5 & 80 to/from NV. There are several SD's in the Sacramento area, which is the half-way point. The NV house is almost all SD stuff, including the 1980s ubiquitous teak dining nook table with the pull-out leaves on the ends. Best purchase I ever made!They still carry it but it now comes in several other woods (walnut, cherry, etc.) & sells for $400 instead of $100. The c.1982 teak has aged just enough to match the newer (2010?) natural cherrywood dining chairs.
What I do not like is that they now also carry a lot of Italian Modern (glossy) furniture, which are the opposite of the more natural, simple, and modern Scandinavian Design principles that shows off the beauty of the wood, slate, and other natural materials. My Techie son (whose favorite color is white) likes that ultra-modern stuff though.
SD at least had open & clean Public Restrooms when restaurants, parks, Travel Centers, and gas stations in California did not (leaving the Health Dept going nuts!). So I want to continue to support SD.
...And find an art print of the Sierra-like Scandinavian Mtns for my new house high up in the mountains. (I hope their Buyers read this!).”

“Visited this store in the middle of a random Thursday to take a second look at some of the beds under consideration. Mattress shopping is notoriously frustrating because it's nearly impossible to figure out the type and combination that's best for your situation. Add to it the fact that most people only test a mattress for about 5-10 minutes before choosing and it's also pretty precarious. The folks at this store, Mev in particular, were very helpful and patient in explaining and comparing; even encouraging me to try other options I thought I didn't like.
