Pet Grooming

Rainbow Pet Groomer (Mobile)
1700 El Camino Real SPC 1-30, South San FranciscoMaju is great! My family has known her for a while but this is the first time she's ever groomed our dogs. Our white Shih-Tzu is old and blind but she still did a bang up job on him. Same goes for our brown mutt. She was on time, easy to talk to, patient, and finished both our dogs in just under 3 hours! Would definitely recommend!

Westborough Pet Hospital
45 Chestnut Ave, South San FranciscoDr. Grewal is truly an exceptional veterinarian. He is incredibly honest, knowledgeable, and genuinely cares about animals and their owners. You can immediately feel that he puts the well-being of your pet first, not money or unnecessary treatments. It’s so rare to find a vet you can fully trust, and Dr. Grewal is exactly that. I’m beyond grateful to have found him and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a caring and ethical vet.

Custom-K9 Dog Training & Boarding
113 S Linden Ave, South San FranciscoWe love the folks at Custom K9!
They've been providing structured daycare and overnight boarding for our sometimes-grumpy, older Corgi, Jackson, for over a year and a half now. Jackson got in a bit of trouble at another doggie daycare establishment (yes, it was his fault...), so we had to find another daycare provider. After a consultation meeting, we were so happy that Custom K9 agreed to take Jackson in.
We take him in for their structured daycare once a week. We can tell that he loves it there whenever we drop him off in the morning, since he basically forgets that we're there, and when he takes his sweet time to leave during pick-up.
Beckie is awesome and all the Custom K9 staff are always so nice.
We also had very good experiences with Custom K9's overnight boarding options. Jackson has stayed there for some long weekends, and we also have him staying for an extended period over the upcoming Christmas break. Again, it's obvious that Jackson enjoys his longer stays there as well. We're very grateful that the Custom K9 folks accommodate our request to let Jackson's doggie sister, Connie, visit and stay with Jackson during the overnight boarding times. Even though we're missing our dogs, it makes it so much easier knowing that they are able to spend their evenings together.
We're looking forward to many more years with Custom K9.

San Francisco Bird Hotel
183 Utah Ave, South San FranciscoI have my bird stay here every time I leave town for vacations or a short weekend getaway. They go above and beyond to care for your feathered friends! If you are on the fence, they clean the cages very well, feed them fresh veg as well as your dry food along with any other diet needs. They will even medicate or give vitamins to birds of special needs. One time, I forgot juice for my bird, they kindly went and got him some so I didn't have to come back with juice. They will make sure to make your bird feel safe, loved, and properly cared for. Cannot recommend this place enough. Highly competent and caring staff members will go above and beyond to meet all your needs for a very affordable price at a very prime and convenient location

Pet-Friendly Restaurants

Dead Eye Coffee Bar
415 Grand Ave STE 100, South San FranciscoA very cute and small coffee shop, only 3 seats so plan accordingly. I had a delicious less sweet hot Ube latte. I loved it! They have pastries as well, mostly sweet and some savory.

Cafe De Casa
1165 Airport Blvd, South San FranciscoThey are truly unique and offer some of the most authentic food in the Bay Area. Every bite feels like a taste of home, rich in flavor, care, and tradition.

Hula Hoops Restaurant & Tiki Bar
2278 Westborough Blvd # 203, South San FranciscoDelicious bbq chicken. The maitai was on the sour side, no hint of sweetness, which I actually prefer. I would revisit.

Grill Kebabs and Gyros
385 Grand Ave, South San FranciscoInterior is really nice with beautiful art painted on the walls. Staff is extremely kind and attentive. I personally got their lamb and beef gyro wrap, and it actually has legitimate juicy and decadent lamb pieces in it! Just the perfect amount of seasoning on it to get rid of some of that gamey flavor. It came with a delicious orange sauce and a spicy red sauce. Also got a side of garlic fries, and of course it was delicious and crispy! Please give this spot a chance if you're craving an authentic gyro that will fill you right up! I wanted to add that I got baklava as well, and it was perfect.

Sourdough & Co.
26 Chestnut Ave, South San FranciscoThis was a nice food spot before driving out in the evening to visit my friends in SF. I got the gourmet turkey breast sandwich and with each bite I could tell ingredients were fresh. Also got a clam chowder soup while I did some work on my laptop. The clam chowder soup was warm, creamy and paired with the bread it was yummy comfort food. Apart from the food, the ambience is ample and they have a huge TV with animal life background videos to set a calm atmosphere. The bathroom was very clean and I really loved that as other food joints have questionable bathrooms. I went on a Saturday in the afternoon, service was fast, friendly, and the place was not crowded. I'll be stopping here again on future SF commutes on my weekends.

Darby Dan's Sandwiches
733 Airport Blvd, South San FranciscoA stellar neighborhood deli serving a wide variety of sandwiches with excellent breads and ingredients. Their current hours are a bit limited, especially for the kitchen/grill half of the menu, but hopefully those expand in the future.
The meatloaf sandwich was exceptional, but I do recommend choosing a softer crust bread than the sourdough roll, as biting through it tended to smush the meatloaf out the side. Not that the roll was in any way had - it was excellent - but just not a great pairing for the meatloaf.

Kevin’s Noodle House
337 Grand Ave, South San FranciscoFood is the same as all the other Kevin locations the Westlake area, Ranch 99 area. On the menu, I noticed that it says Kevin and Chris. Both types of spring rolls were good while the fried one was crunchy on the outside and inside was spot on in taste. we had the soup noodles and the broth was robust.

Curveball Slider Truck
326 Shaw Rd, South San FranciscoThey were at the Presidio this weekend and a huge hit with our group. My friend got the salt and pepper fries and we got the garlic fries and both were incredible. Everyone enjoyed their burgers as well. I was especially grateful because I dropped my fries onj the pavement and they made me more, no questions asked. We all hope to find their truck again soon!!
