320 E Agate Ave, GranbyMy mom and I visited twice in the last 3 days. We had the best service from Natalie and Karlee. They were so attentive and gave great suggestions from the menu. We loved the Firecracker shrimp, Green Chili, Potatoes with Gravy and loaded potatoes. Also, a great moscow mule! Thank you!

Granby Garage Roadhouse
491 E Agate Ave, GranbyQuite a pleasant surprise. Based on the size of the town and looking at other restaurants in the area, I was just thinking it would be a regular greasy spoon. The menu right of way started to surprise me with items I didn’t think I would see like calamari (not something I usually get anyway) and tomahawk steaks. We ordered beers and the calamari (brother’s choice). We then ordered dinner. Brother thought the calamari was a bit too chewy. I ordered a ham and cheese that has an egg and cheese sauce. My brother got buffalo Mac and cheese. Mine turned out to be a basically a French dish croque madame which I once had years ago from a French food truck. It could have been a bit hotter but the egg was cooked perfectly and the dish tasted really good. Brother’s dish was bowl of pasta with a tender on it but I tried the pasta. Instead of a macaroni noodle, they used a rotini which really held the cheese sauce on the noodles well and the cheese was a really good blend of cheeses that worked well. After leaving tried finding out on their website but the menu there was missing a number of items that were on the menu there. The only other knock against them was they seemed understaffed. Each separate order from the drinks and calamari to the dinners seemed to take sometime to come out. Maybe it was because it was the Fourth of July and were a bunch of people there, it wasn’t packed.

Gorgeousdoodles
658 Co Rd 609, GranbyOur ‘Bella’ is 15 1/2 years old and still swims, goes for walks, chases balls, and plays with her new Bernedoodle sister. Her litter name was Star. We’ve owned over 20 dogs in a variety of breeds so far in our life and Bella has proven to be the best dog ever! She understands at least 30+ human words or hand signs, and she is so polite with wonderful manners. She absolutely loves our grandkids or any small child or animal. Even delivery people love her! She has been such an easy keeper with barely any health problems. She has lost quite a few teeth now due to her great age, but that’s ok. She gets a blend of raw food plus small kibbles to compensate. We have been feeding her Hills Science Diet for her entire life and she does very well with it (as all of our other 20-ish dogs).
Bella was sold to us by Melody (now retired). The dog mom was Francesca, I can’t remember her father. We contacted Golden Doodles multiple times for a puppy early this year, but never got a reply unfortunately. Bella is a ‘pure’ 1/2 poodle and 1/2 lab. I see that Golden Doodles now sells Australian Labradoodles which are basically a larger DNA mix of Spaniel, plus a much smaller mix of poodle, plus even a smaller mix of a lab. I don’t recommend this combination of DNA as Spaniels introduce an entire new set of defects like barking, runny eyes, ear infections, allergic to everything and are very prone to anal sac cancer or other cancers. ( We bought an Australian Labradoodle from Sutter Butte Labradoodles in California and this poor dog only made it to 9 years and died from very painful and expensive Anal Sac Cancer which was horrific for all of us to go through. He was a big barker, and had non-stop ear infections. But he was a big lover boy. I get why breeders are introducing spaniel DNA as you will get the more silky fur. But I would rather have a healthier dog, then silkier fur. We just bought a new puppy from BlackBerry Farm Bernedoodles in Utah and my goodness, our new puppy reminds me of Bella! She is super smart, very healthy, friendly, a fast learner, and beautiful. I used Embark, a $99 DNA service to check her DNA to ensure that the dog I’m being sold is what I expect. ‘Pepper’ is truly a 50/50 mix of poodle and Bernese Mountain dog. And that the breeder is fantastic to work with. We even drove all the way to their home in Utah to pick Pepper up, and her entire setup is legitimate. This is a long review, but I really wanted to share our dog ownership journey as this is a multi-year commitment. I still recommend Gorgeous Doodles, but sincerely hope they go back to a 50/50 mix of poodle & Labrador retriever. And they need to improve their process of responding to requests
