“I rarely go to the barber as I normally cut my own hair, so when I do go I try to find a nice place. My usual spot was booked for the day that I wanted to go, so I figured I would give this place a shot, and I was not disappointed! Flash was my barber, and he really took his time to do a good job. The ambience and the decor of the place was really great as well.”

“I do tend to wear clothes when I revisit the shop...It goes to say how much I do love it and yes I do! He is greater than I has always such fun and cool designs that I adore and today was no different since it's been awhile and I usually go to the shop up North though today since I was in the area thought to give them a visit.Located in the Nimitz Center it's easy to find them as you're zipping along Nimitz here they have shirts for women, men's and kids along with fun accessories and stickers. Today this cute pinkish shirt with flowers scattered on the logo have it a nice spring vibe and knew this was the one. The vibe here is much more mellow than the one up north but they still have it all and we are so blessed to have such wonderful brand to express our love along with the island life we live in.Thank you!”

“Can't make it out to the flee market to get some last minute island t-shirts sweaters and trinkets to take back home , This will definitely be the best spot to go to. Not to far from the airport.”

“Unique clothing store with a variety of stylish apparel. The store offers a diverse selection of cool gear, but be prepared to spend some time exploring. One drawback was the challenge of finding items in my size, as I usually wear a large. Particularly, hoodies seemed to run smaller, and there was limited availability in XL.”

“I walked in and was greeted by the friendly cashier. She told me that all the shirts are designed and printed locally. She asked if I was a tourist or if I lived here. She also asked what area I lived in and told me that they have a location at Ala Moana. I looked around the store and noticed some really cool items. They have shirts with turtles and sharks on them. They also have shirts from local eateries such as Tiki's Grill & Bar and Waikiki Brewing Company.”

“Great store! With very friendly staff! We just popped our heads in randomly after climbing Koko Heads and got talking to Frankie who was one of the friendliest people we’ve met on our trip. He told us all about the history. We end up buying a Yeti water bottle and would definitely recommend the store to other tourists visiting.”

“Fantastic customer service from all staff members. The store was very organized, cleaned, and smelled good.We were asked multiple times if we would like a beverage. The main staff member that helped us was Conny. She was very professional, kind, and thorough. She did not get annoyed with us having to try multiple shoe styles and sizes. Unfortunately, the style my husband wanted was not in stock but she offered to look at other locations to have it shipped to our home. Conny also provided her contact information and informed us to contact her before we come next time to check product stock. She also let me look at a ton of handbags. I ended up just getting a card holder and she was not annoyed that I did not purchase a handbag this visit. When leaving, all of the staff members said goodbye.”

“Ladies and gentlemen, let's take a journey through time and delve into the history of the land on which the Diesel Store Waikiki proudly stands. We're talking ancient Hawaii, my friends, a place of legends and warrior spirits! Before the Diesel Store, this land was part of the legendary Waikiki, a name that means "spouting waters" in the native Hawaiian tongue. It was a paradise of epic proportions, beloved by the Hawaiian ali'i, the mighty chiefs who recognized its beauty and strategic importance.Picture this: pristine beaches, fertile lands for agriculture, and bountiful marine resources. Waikiki was a hub of Hawaiian culture, where the ali'i would gather for relaxation, cultural ceremonies, and to partake in thrilling recreational activities. It was the place to be, my friends! Now, let's fast forward to the arrival of foreign explorers in the late 18th century. These outsiders brought their customs and influences, forever changing the course of Waikiki's history. Tourism boomed, hotels and resorts sprouted like palm trees, and Waikiki transformed into a global hotspot. And now, my friends, we find ourselves in the present day. Waikiki, once a cultural haven, has evolved into a vibrant neighborhood teeming with hotels, restaurants, shops, and entertainment venues. In the heart of this paradise, we have the Diesel Store Waikiki, a modern fashion oasis that pays homage to the spirit of Waikiki's past. While the specific history of this land might not be widely known, we must honor the ancient legacy that permeates every inch of Waikiki. The Diesel Store stands tall, embodying the fusion of contemporary fashion and the enduring spirit of this coastal wonderland. It's a reminder of the rich cultural heritage that has shaped this place into the paradise it is today. So, my friends, as you step into the Diesel Store Waikiki, take a moment to appreciate not only the fashion before you but also the legacy of this land and the epic history of Waikiki that surrounds it. It's a celebration of the past, present, and future—a testament to the indomitable spirit that defines this incredible place.”

“I stopped by when I was on a trip. I used to buy them a lot in Japan, but now that they've withdrawn from the store I can't buy them anymore, so I visit them whenever I'm nearby. If they don't have your size, they will order it for you right away, and they will serve you in a friendly manner, making it easy to shop. My son gave me a sticker with the logo on it, and while he was having fun putting it on himself and playing with it, he even called out to me.”

“The store was busy, air conditioning was cool, as soon as we walked in someone asked if we needed help(no appt needed). We probably spent about 45min buying a suit. $179 for coat, tie, long sleeve shirt, pants. You can pay extra $25 for hemming which takes about 1 week, $10 for a suit bag. Parking in the municipal lot in the Marin Tower (enter from Smith St). Great experience, would highly recommend them. I saw many girls trying on prom dresses, those seemed to range from $200-$400 dollars. All staff were so attentive and pleasant to every customer in the store. Since you are in Chinatown, walk a few blocks to Maurkame Udon and grab an affordable lunch or dinner.”

“The best! We attended a traditional Hawaiian clothing seminar on a cruise given by a local, so we knew what we wanted. The store manager was incredibly helpful, and the quality and variety were amazing. This is a store where locals shop. It is a family business and not a tourist trap. We feel fortunate we found it.”

“Bad Boy printing in Hawaii. Called and they could not make my order quick like I needed. They gave me another shop in town and poof they got me in and made my order in 35 min. Great to see these competitors work with each other to take care of the customer.”

“Last minute suit rentals for my family members who needed to attend my mother's funeral (in 6 days). I looked into quotes for two places, and this was the best and most reasonable. He also got back to me right away via email - not sure about the complaints about unresponsiveness. The store was spacious and clean, and very conveniently located in a Kaimuki shopping plaza. An hour fitting is about $1.50 for parking fees which are paid via credit card. They also provide shoe rentals for $20 if needed (we didn't opt for this but very reasonable pricing!). The husband/wife owners were gracious, warm and very friendly. Made both my father and brother feel at ease and comfortable. I would 100% come back again for formal needs.”

“One of my favorite places to shop at Ala Moana, this two-story store is on the Nordstrom side of the center (for your parking and navigating purposes). When I visited, the bottom floor featured their T-shirt design collaborations with local artists and brands for adults and keiki. The second floor has the complete collections of men and women’s apparel, along with the T-shirt designs of local brands.I love their high-tech self-checkout, where you just place your purchases in a bin, which automatically scans the items and lists them on the screen. Super easy - and you don’t the app to use it btw.For Lunar New Year, they had a promo of a packet of 5 red envelopes with the purchase of $50 or more!”

“First honeymoon trip to Hawaii. As I was walking around Chinatown, a stylish shop suddenly appeared. Aloha shirts and miscellaneous goods with original designs were displayed along with the wonderful interior, creating a great atmosphere. I had been wanting an aloha shirt for a while, so I bought two on the spot. If I had more time, I would have liked to see it more slowly without having to worry about the trolley time. I would like to stop by again when I travel.”

“I have so many regrets about all the things I didn't buy at Na Mea Hawaii. If you're looking for an authentic curated shopping experience that helps the Native Hawaiian community thrive this is it. The book section is unmatched and I love browsing all the crafts and clothes from local artists. This time the Pegge Hopper art and local sticker collection impressed me but there are a treasure trove of items to discover.”

“Nice clean store and large enough to have most things you need. The prices are in the convince store range but the staff is friendly. They have a promo that if you keep your receipts during your stay and bring them in, you can redeem for free stuff. The minimum is $100 in receipts. They have some hot pre-made foods and a good selection of sandwiches and fruit.”

“I was looking for a good vintage Hawaiian shirt and happened to pass by this place, run by a Japanese guy. Vintage Hawaiian shirt designs are revived from ancient times, made new, and sold. The fact that the shirt pocket pattern is connected to the shirt is also a sign of craftsmanship. The details are incredible. It's a bit pricey, but you won't regret it. The boss is cheerful and stylish.”

“Excellent customer service with kindness! Thank you Cassandra and Sascha for the knowledge you shared on your quality items. Interesting! Much appreciated!! Also, I can't forget to mention Jessica at the Ala Moana Shopping Mall (Tori Richard) she located a shirt for me in Maui and had it shipped. Again, excellent customer service. Thank you Jessica!”

“This is a locally owned store which sells striking men's, women's and children's clothing based on Pacific Island designs. Men's shirts are cut very large, so be prepared to go down one or even two sizes. The women's wrap-around skirts are highly versatile and can be worn in a variety of ways. There's even a demonstration video in English and Japanese.”

“I love going to Mori by Art and Flea! The curation of art, clothing, household goods, and more is so much fun to browse through! The person at the counter is always helpful. And although some items might be on the pricey side, they're definitely worth it! I've bought art, a candle (highly recommend the banana bread scent), and a keychain from them recently and love all my purchases!”

“I knew Anne many years ago when her and her sister joined the Karate Association of Hawaii dojo where I trained and taught for many years in Pucks Alley. I take notice from a posting by Al A. on the C/S she and her friends received when they visited and purchased a very expensive item and the treatment received. Understanding the business, Anne may have blown potential customers on this particular day but that is the way Ms Anne is. She loves her friends of which she has many and if you feel left out it's because of this attitude she has towards friendship. That being said, my question is on her ability to feel the inside feeling of her position in life. She married one haole from Oregon with a famous name but not a very famous person in real life, ex-navy man who retired from the navy, spent many years working in New York City (capital of alot of bullsh*t). She started her business in her mom's home and grew from there into a world renowned business for which she deserves. Having her first shop on East Manoa Road and then moving to her present location is such a funny thing. I grew up not two blocks from her store, Auahi and Koula Streets, back in the early 50's. The old Honolulu Lumber yard was our backyard playground, Kewalo Basin was our swimming pool and Ala Moana was our campgeound. So many memories of that place and the destruction of the surrounding areas today is unbelievable. Anne and I dated for several years until something happened that basically destroyed our presence of togetherness. When family members interfere only one thing can happen, separation, pain and hurt. Do I remember everything, you bet. Life has gone on but memories still exist along with other supporting factors. Ms Anne is a very good person and I wish her nothing but good and I pass on my condolences for the passing of her parents whom I respected but did not really enjoy being around. It's like one never forgets that very first kill in combat, of which I have many while serving in Vietnam for two tours. I remember the letter I wrote to her back in 73 about my divorce (the cause) and my kids, this threw her sister Nodie into a mean tantrum fit but we survived the issues for a little while. When one takes the life of another whether in combat or whatever, that life will follow you forever-so I have many in my head and regret my actions but I do not hate that I did what I had to to survive. I wanted to send her a letter or email but when I discovered her husband is controlling her emails I decided to post. For the public and AL A, trust Anne to do you right and don't let the little things in life get to you because you are not the only one alive in this crazy world we live in now. Much Aloha and always remember life is to short to get angry.”
