“I love this place with a passion unfortunately the parking is an absolute nightmare and as soon as you get addicted to a product then they don't have it back in stock hard being a local and this being our favorite store to rely on because it's not reliable”

“Great little grocery store in Kula. Pick up your byob for dinner at Kula Bistro across the street. Good basic selection of grocery items including fresh and frozen items, spirits, wine, & beer.
Stop for some great hotdogs, rice and chili! They are also open half a day on most “cooking” holidays, bonus??”

“We went midweek and there were lots of offerings for bento, poke, produce, and snacks. Local baked treats were fun as well. A great place to stop to pick up snacks for a day out.”

“The former Cash N Carry is now Island Grocery Depot, sporting a repaved road, and a soon to open second location in Lahaina which will be bigger than this one. No membership needed.

While the selection isn't the greatest, if your favorite item is carried here, it will more than likely be priced less than the supermarkets, and be of the non-bulk variety. This is the only place I can find decent frozen seafood - snow crab claws, king crab legs, and calamari. The produce prices are very competitive. They also sell a variety of takeout trays, kitchen gloves, and restaurant supplies. There's a small selection of bento breakfast & lunches which changes daily. The only downfall is that they don't stay open late (6pm daily).

TIP:
First Hawaiian Bank ATM inside.”

“So impressed that I found someone on staff who really understood coffee taste profiles and he helped me choose a coffee without any fruity notes - just so happens he was not a fan of fruit forward coffee either! As a home coffee roaster, it was great that they had a knowledgeable coffee person there who suggested the Maui Oma Haleakala Sunrise blend. It was perfect! Wish I would have got his name so I could laud him here! Thanks to the friendly guy with a full beard!”

“Their poke bowl is amazing! We decided to try the Hawaiian and spicy flavors. We grabbed a bowl and headed to the beach to eat it.The rice becomes a bit tough once it cools down, but that's the only issue.”

“My mom and my aunt use to own this market. We only sold groceries and kimchee/banchan. The new owner is a young chef and she brought in hot foods, bentos and innovative and out of this world banchan (Korean side dishes)!!! You must must try! Her bibimbap is better than the restaurants on Maui! And her kimchee fried rice is on point as well as her Korean sushi (kimbap)! Not only do I love coming here because it reminds me of my childhood working here, but I love coming here because everything is so good! It's so wonderful to see how much better this new owner has made this place and I hope you all try it out, you won't regret it! Nomo mashiso!!!!”

“Good selection of frozen and packaged items. Also a good selection of fresh produce. The lady helping us was the absolute sweetest human being ever. Good place to check out if you're looking for Filipino groceries and/or asian groceries in general.”

“Getting there was easy and locals said it was a great place to go...and it was! People helped find the things we needed. Loved that they had a small washing detergent (great for a week stay there) and reasonably priced! Also, get their hot noodle dishes! Whatever is under the heat lamps that they make in the kitchen is AMAZING! We got a pad thai of sorts and it was sooo good and such a large serving we used the left over in our breakfast eggs! They had quite the variety of stuff there to get, so even though Google can't say if it has everything you want, I'd go and check because well enough they will have it or tell you where to go and get it. Very helpful people. Mahalo Superette ?”

“If you live in upcountry this is one of the few grocery stores. They are pricey for sure but have great prepared food options, poke bar, musubi and bento, pizzas, fried chicken. The cashiers are full of aloha and you feel welcome. They get plenty shopping bag designs too so if you like to collect em all, this is a good spot. Parking is easily available.”

“The best poke we found in Maui is from Tamura's. They have lots of options, flavors are all interesting. We got both ahi tuna and we were craving some more after our trip to Maui. Service is fast. You pick two flavors for a bowl and they prepare it immediately.”

“I've reviewed them before I think, but came back to say they have really a great poke bar! They know how to offer all the kinds the locals like, and serve it up quickly at pau hana time. This little grocery store has so many things for sale you can always find what you need, from fresh meats and veggies to pet foods and more. HUGE selection of adult beverages too. The staff are always helpful and friendly. Loads of parking in this old cannery spot.”

“This is a decent Safeway - maybe a level 2? I shopped around Target, Walmart, and Costco and I think this Safeway had a larger variety of local, made in Hawaii/Maui products. The chocolates are cheaper at Costco and Target though. I like that this location was easy to drive in and out of and that there is a gas station.”

“Stopped by for cold drinks after going to the Maui swap meet. Peach juice! It was a perfect, convenient stop-off. Auntie working here is super kind and complemented us on our mini-cooler from daiso. Healthy food! Kimchi's and banchan here are so authentic and fresh made delicious! So glad we found this amazing little gem of a market, imports and freshly prepared Korean staples! Good ambience. Fresh veggies!! Would love to go back and try more!”

“We drove 30 min from Wailea to buy fresh fish and were not disappointed. This place is a cross between a grocery store and a fish market. They have coolers of various local and imported fish. We bought the freshest and most delicious tuna I've ever had. The fisherman literally wheeled in the fresh catch as we were standing there. They provide ice to transport the fish back home. They don't clean the fish or filet it etc, but with a good knife and some YouTube videos later, we had no problem filleting our own tuna!”

“This unassuming Asian market is located on Lower Main St. in Wailuku and carries mainly Filipino offerings, but other Asian and local products as well. There's some interesting finds here if you take the time to look around and they have more variety than some of the other little Asian markets around town. My favorites are of course, the snacks. From chips to chocolates - many of their products remind me of my childhood vacations in the Philippines. They also have a hot food line that feature your typical Filipino dishes like pork n peas, dinakdakan, adobo, chicharon, empanada, lumpia, and more. You can get them in plate lunch style form or containers to serve as entrees. What I really come here for though is the Mais Con Yelo -- the only place I know on island that offers this delectable cool treat. Mais Con Yelo is a layered, Filipino dessert that consists of sweet corn, shaved ice, evaporated milk, leche flan, and a scoop of CORN & CHEESE ice cream. I love corn and cheese ice cream and the whole combo of ice and evaporated milk are SO good! It's similar to a halo halo, but with corn. For whatever reason, the last time I got it, the aunty made it so so good that I can't stop thinking about it and will probably go get more tomorrow. Hahah. Speaking of ice cream, they also have the Magnolia boba ice creams here in various flavors and I really, really like that ice cream. I've only seen it around a few stores here so if you like that, you can find it here too.Check them out sometime!”

“Being half Filipino myself, I’ve eaten my culture’s food made by friends/family, and also from restaurants all over the mainland. Many times I’ve been less than impressed with the versions of dishes that were not as tasty as what I grew up with. I found that Paradise has the most options that are ALL delicious (from Tinola to guisante, adobo to lechon, turon to baked desserts and more).
Also, the store has Asian vegetables, snacks and convenience store staples like sodas and of course local juices, etc.
And the employees are so friendly!
The point is, if you’ve never been, you need to check it out!”

“I am not a huge fan of Safeway stores, but they are usually in convenient locations and offer a lot of selection, maybe too much selection. I do frequent the sushi options, the bakery, and sometimes vegetables if they are local. You really have to shop around for bargains, as I find prices here are higher than other outlets. But when they have premium ice cream on sale, stock up!”
