“RE: Message we sent to Oakbrook Center Management regarding changing for parking

My wife, Pat, went to make a purchase at L.L. Bean this morning but had to park a block away because you are now charging for what used to be free parking
She texted 3 photos of the nearly empty parking lot adjacent to where she wanted to shop.
I believe you are doing your tenants a disservice.
The majority of the public will be changing their shopping habits and go elsewhere to make their purchases.
That is why we do not shop in downtown Chicago or anywhere is Chicago where they charge for street parking
Locksmiths, dry cleaners, small restaurants, novelty shops etc on Chicago streets have suffered financial loss because their customers will not pay for parking and end up shoping elsewhere
More and more people are shopping on line and charging for parking at shopping centers makes this option even more convenient and affordable
2nd Message to Oakbrook Management:
My wife did park elsewhere and walk to L.L. Bean to make a return. She said the sales staff were very unhappy about the charge for parking, the parking lot was almost vacant and they had very few customers.
My wife told them that in the future she will order on line.
After shopping she would normally have lunch with her friends at one of your restaurants but because of the parking issue decided to go elsewhere for lunch”

“I have always had a difficult time finding bras in particular. I have some sensory sensitivity and bras are the most difficult. My trusty target bra crapped out on me and I went in to soma for a fitting and hopefully to find my new everyday bra. The associates were super sweet even with it being extremely busy when I came in Anallely did my fitting and was very helpful pulling options for me. I was lucky I found a bra I liked in my sister size that works so great. Have seen some reviews on quality not being great so I’ll update as they get more wear but really excited to find a new regular bra!”

“We have been shopping at Murray's since they were in the Oak Brook mall! I think they have been in this new location for at least 16 years or more! We go there at least once or twice a year (usually Christmas and St Patrick's Day) to buy something beautiful and support this fantastic business! I have never been disappointed with any our our purchases! Just wish I could buy more as everything is so nice! Have so many beautiful Irish crosses and my St Brigid's cross has hung on my wall for over 17 years! The owners are very nice and helpful if you are looking for a gift for someone special!”
“The sweetest staff! I recently went in to buy my mother in law a new jacket. They didn’t have what I was looking for in stock and they were able to help by having the jacket I found which was out of stock in store, but shipped in her size to my home in Chicago. While waiting for the jacket, I received a hand written notecard from the staff thanking me for the purchase and hoping my mother in law loves her new jacket! It was the absolute sweetest thing and I have to thank the staff for what may seem like a small gesture, it reminded me of how customer service was and should be. Thank you and I will be back!”

“Anyone ever notice how the lighting in there makes everything look so good?! It's almost unfair. Anyway, I talked to some hotties that work there to confirm if old Italian man cloths are back in fashion and they confirmed indeed. Think Charlie Sheehan style shirts but less rockabilly - more grandpa. It's a step in the right direction, but we need more Guy Fieri style cloths if anything.”
“This store gets all the stars. The girls here and the manager Sam are all very helpful and seem happy to be at work. They are very good at making suggestions along with sizing. I have been here a couple times and spent all the money here not spent at other stores!! I always leave confident and excited with my selections. Give them a try if you haven’t been there it’s so worth it and they have great promos!!”

“These clothes are such good quality and such soft Fabrics. I bought a bunch of pieces in the WearEver collection for work and this is the most comfortable I am probably ever going to be. I am definitely going to visit J.Jill again to purchase more clothes. Had lots of help from Denise a sales associate who is wonderful and had great suggestions. “Largest Old Navy the wife and I have been to. My Love has some height and is on the slim side. They stock sizes she needs. As for me, I'm impressed by the large clearance section. Staff was friendly and eager to help, store was organized and busy, so I say the employees are on it!!! Fantastic experience!!!”
“Oakbrook Evereve has the best stylists, they are all super friendly and approachable! I had the pleasure of working with Dana. I have recently lost weight and been styled by her 2x now. She always remembers my name, asks about kids and remembers the styles I like and my sizes. I am so impressed by her friendly demeanor, trendiness and knowledge of what will look good on my body type. She has not only educated me on trends and what works best for my body type with jeans etc but she makes me feel good about myself! I walk out feeling confident and good in my skin! I have gotten so many compliments on all of my new clothes. I have told all my friends to ask for Dana. I was also impressed by how she multi tasked when super busy and was helping myself, another co worker and two other customers all at once. “I can’t say enough positive things about my experience at the Kate Spade store in Oak Brook, IL. I was in town on business, and my daughter picked me up so we could visit a few local stores. Kate Spade had been on my list for a while, and I’m so glad we made the stop!
From the moment we walked in dressed in my “airport best” and we were warmly greeted with a genuine welcome and an invitation to browse. There was no pressure, just kindness.
I started by looking at the jewelry, and Lauren approached me with a simple, “Try it on.” That small moment made such a big difference. I immediately felt comfortable and truly welcomed, not judged, or overlooked.
My daughter quickly found a purse she loved, and as we continued shopping, both Lauren and Soroya made the experience even better. They were not only friendly but clearly passionate and knowledgeable about the products. They took the time to talk through items with us and even helped us create wish lists.
After making our initial purchases, we were heading out when the perfumes caught our attention. Once again, they took their time explaining each scent and encouraged us to think about it and come back—no pressure at all. And we did come back… and bought more!
We loved the experience so much that we returned the next day so my daughter could purchase a matching wallet. Drea assisted us that day, and she was just as warm and welcoming as the others.
It’s so refreshing to walk into a store and feel genuinely invited in, not judged. Experiences like this make me love Kate Spade even more. Employees like Lauren, Soroya, and Drea truly deserve recognition.

“Just had the most wonderful experience at this store. I had just come in window shopping and was pleasantly greeted by a fine young gentleman named Zach. He was beyond helpful as I ended up leaving the store with a new suit and a few pieces to upgrade my wardrobe. If anyone else if to come here I recommend Zach for anything you need as he was very helpful and took his time to make sure I was satisfied with everything. “Good selection, but BOY was this place packed on Black Friday. We were still able to get our kids in there to shop, but the checkout line was 30 minutes long (not a complaint against the store.) They didn’t have all the sizes we were looking for, but overall this was a good store experience.”
