Brooklyn tails pet food
760 Washington Ave, BrooklynBrooklyn Tails is one of my favorite stops as a dog walker. I bring my pack by and Johnny, the owner, is always there with treats and a smile. The dogs love him—it’s honestly one of the highlights of our route.
The store has a great selection for both cats and dogs (I’ve got two cats at home), and Johnny’s always happy to help if I need something specific. Super friendly, super knowledgeable, and just a great neighborhood spot. You can tell he genuinely cares about animals and his customers.
Support small businesses like this—they’re the heart of the community.

My Natural Pet
8318 5th Ave, BrooklynBooking was very easy once you submit a questionnaire about your dog's up to date vaccines. I expressed my hesitation to my natural pet because my dog is very often very timid with strangers and afraid of loud noises (the dryer) . To my surprise she was hyper and looked happy when they were done with her grooming. She even tried to go back down the stairs where they groomed her. It came out to $120-130, which included wash and dry, anal gland expression and cut nails. ( she is 70 lbs). In my opinion this was more than I thought it would be but we also never professional groomed her before, so not sure this is standard. However, I would Definitely take her back bc she looked very shiny, not stressed and they took their time with her because she is a shy dog. Thanks again!

Sonia's Pet Grooming
471 7th Ave, BrooklynWe have been taking our Havanese to Sonia for years and her grooming is unrivaled. She is great with our little guy, caring, experienced, has a keen understanding of dogs, and is meticulous in her grooming. We never have to give her direction, whatever she does is always just right. We've only occasionally had to go elsewhere due to scheduling conflict but we're always disappointed in the care and cuts we've gotten anywhere else. We highly recommend Sonia as the best groomer in town.

Dogboy NYC
362 Furman St, BrooklynRobert is in a class by himself when it comes to training and behavioral issues for dogs. He brings a wealth of knowledge, patience and genuine interest in the dog he is working with. I’ve worked with him twice now for my ball-aggression Frenchie and years later when I added a second dog. He helped me understand and decode what my dogs’ behavior was telling about their mental state and go from there on the behavior. It is truly a holistic approach that works. Highly recommend him and his team.

ProspectBArk!
578 5th Ave, BrooklynMy husband and I have had Prospect Bark take care of our senior dog Clare for 2 years in Greenpoint. Their team, primarily Sam and Alexa, have been amazing taking care of her. She is now 16 and has had trouble walking the steps. Over the past few months they have taken the time to carry our 45 pound dog up and down the steps during their visits. All visits are updated with pictures and an explanation of all that occured during the visit. They have been so helpful during this tough time of caring for a senior dog. Highly recommend and trust this team to take care of your dog. Thank you guys!

Pet-Friendly Restaurants

Xiang Hotpot-Brooklyn
5816 Fort Hamilton Pkwy, Brooklynone of the most aesthetically appealing hotpot places i have been to in nyc. i love that it the decor makes you feel like you’re somewhere in china. there was a lot of seating but we had made a reservation just in case. they provide a bag for your clothes and also aprons while you eat. you order on the tablet so that makes things very easy and portions are small so you can try many different items. the quality of the food was also very good. you can choose from the regular or premium menu. we got the herbal chicken and tomato soup bases. they also had a large sauce selection, drink selection and some hot foods. members also get access to their snack bar. would come again when im in brooklyn.

The Blue Light Speak Cheesy
158 Green St, BrooklynA small cafe with a rotating curated menu that hits the mark.
The Blue Light Speak Cheesy is a highly recommend for its food and drinks. Today’s menu only had 3 food options however each one sounded fantastic.
I got the Mama’s and Papa’s (which can also be made Vegan) and my wife got the Green eggs and Jam.
Both were delicious and starved on a light and fluffy poppy seed bun. I liked the spice that the chimichurri gave the sandwich but would have also been happy with the sweetness of the green eggs and Jam.
We also got the Maple Palo Santo latte Hot and the Pumpkin Spice Latte Cold.
I like the subtle notes of the maple in the palo santo and the PSL was one of the best ones I’ve tasted recently.
Highly recommend checking it out.
