“I visited Woodforest National Bank on 5/6/26 to open an additional savings account. While in line waiting to be helped, a woman came out asking everyone in line how they could be helped. Some were there to make deposits, the gentleman in front of me needed a new debit card. When she approached me I asked if I would be able to open an additional savings account The woman who I later found out was the manager of the branch said yes and asked me to be seated. After taking care of the other gentleman the manager began to help me open my new account. The manager name is Shaquanna Boothe. Very professional and opened my account in no time. The whole time having a good conversation just small talk nothing grand but she felt very personable. So if you bank with Woodforest and need anything regarding your accounts make sure you see Shaquanna and she will take care all of your banking needs.”

“I did the intro to check bonus for signing up on a new checking account. It came with a $200 bonus. The trick was you need to apply to the code for amongst other requirements. I missed that detail and went into this branch to ask if an exception could be made since I completed all the other requirements. Denice pulled through on my ask and was able to have them fulfill my bonus same day. Great customer service experience. Give Denice a raise!”

For the actual logistics:
- This is a great place for savings accounts; specifically, you can’t beat their money market return rate.
- This is not a good place to go for credit cards; the application process is a circus.
- The specific-banking-account numbers, I had to get on paper directly from the teller to set up my direct deposit.
- This place has free financial advising included with having an account.
Now, onto the rest of it. Why do I bank here?
I like that the employees are knowledgeable and respectful of legal names vs preferred names. I like that they have a Spanish-speaking representative always present. I like that this credit union works hard with those who are struggling to get their feet under them. The second time I walked in (after I had set up accounts), I was still greeted and treated like a person and not a customer or won sale.
This place is not the most high-tech or with the best offers, like some of the big banks. But they care. That matters enough for me.”
