Outer Banks Veterinary Hospital
3723 N Croatan Hwy Unit 9, Kitty HawkIn one word: superb!We're not from the area and were about to fly to Europe with our dog, for which we needed vet certificates. Dr. Jay and his staff were super helpful and went well beyond the call of duty to help us, liaising with our "regular" vet, double checking with the agencies that the approvals had been issued and sent to the correct address, and keeping us informed at all stages of the process. We also got some excellent travel tips on top, all of which contributed to a smooth journey, despite the logistical complications / not flying from our home town.Thank you and we hope to be back when in OBX next time!

3701 North Croatan Highway Mail Box 12, Kitty HawkI rushed to get a breakfast donut for my son. I got there 6 minutes after they closed. Thankfully, the manager was so gracious as to let me in and help me out. I told him I was hoping I'd catch them before they closed but got stuck in traffic. He was so kind and gave me half a dozen donuts as well as made us some fresh donut holes! The donuts were amazing! Will definitely have to come here again next time I come to the OBX!

1 Ocean Blvd, Kitty HawkWe stopped by during our adventures exploring the coast and were pleasantly surprised with the deliciousness of their pizza and friendly staff. We saved the pizza in a cooler to have on our drive back home! Highly recommend! Yum!

120 E Kitty Hawk Rd, Kitty HawkWe walked in and were seated promptly. Our table was by the window, enjoyed that bc it was a nice sunny day. Restaurant was clean. The waitress we had (Summer) was very friendly and attentive. The food was excellent. I had the Beer Battered Mahi special. Best fried fish I've had in a long time. Not heavy on the breading. We will make this a regular go to spot.

Our server, Tristan, was exceptional and treated us like royalty. Our dinners were exceptional and the dessert yummy. Thanks for starting our 2026 on such an exceptional note.

Sandtrap Tavern
300 W Eckner St, Kitty HawkWhat a great find! Lilly was a wonderful bartender. We stopped for lunch and a drink when we got in town from Virginia and she was so polite and service was fantastic. We had wings, BLT, and a chicken sandwich and all tasted delicious. Before we left Lilly told us we had to come to brunch and showed us the menue so of course we came back on sunday. We got to the sand trap Sunday morning and Pat was the bartender and was perfect! She made a great drink. We had the bloody Mary bar, the montecristo, eggs Benedict and shrimp and grits and it was a great start to a great Sunday! The place was also very clean as well as the bathrooms. We will definitely be back!

Their service is friendly and their curries are vegan (no fish sauce or shrimp paste in the base) as well as many other vegan/gf options. The food is fresh and delicious, their green curry is one of my staples here on the OBX! Often only accepting cash.

1209 Duck Rd, DuckService was excellent. We were there mid- afternoon, so they were not crowded. Husband had crab cake sandwich, which he thoroughly enjoyed. I had the wedge salad with grilled chicken. The salad was very good, but the chicken was just not great. I had asked for it blackened, but was told they couldn’t do that. So it was just very bland. Otherwise, the menu was great, lots of gluten free options, including rolls if you want a sandwich. Our server was very friendly. Will definitely return!

Shipwrecks Taphouse & Grill
4020 N Croatan Hwy, Kitty HawkWe're always looking for new restaurants to try, and tonight we found this gem. Of all the times we've been to the outer banks, we somehow never tried Shipwrecks. It is absolutely awesome. Food was fresh, flavorful, and well priced for the portions you receive. The atmosphere is akin to an upbeat ocean themed sports bar, however it is charming and enjoyable. Our server was excellent, very polite and attentive. I highly recommend giving Shipwrecks a try. You won't be disappointed
