Acredale has been taking care of his health for the past ten years. Two weeks ago, due to his old age, pneumonia, and skin cancer, we visited the hospital. After an efficient and professional examination, Dr. Madison offered several treatment options, and we decided to bring him home and take medicine and keep conservative treatment. Unfortunately, he didn’t make it. I called to cancel Jasper's follow-up appointment and let them know we lost him. Today, I received a card from them—thank you for the comfort from Acredale! Once we get through the grief of losing Jasper, we will bring our new puppy back here! Absolutely!

When we started, my dog struggled with aggression, resource guarding, and would bark and growl at anyone who came into our home or even walked past the window. It was stressful and honestly overwhelming.
From the very beginning, Adam was patient, knowledgeable, and incredibly understanding of both my dog and our situation. He took the time to explain what was causing the behavior and gave us clear, practical steps to work through it. What really stood out was how he focused not just on correcting behavior, but on building trust and confidence in my dog.
In addition to addressing the behavioral issues, he also helped us build a strong foundation with basic training like sit, come, lay down, up, and off. He worked on leash training as well, which has made walks so much more enjoyable. One of the biggest improvements for me personally was helping my dog stop biting during nail trims - something that used to be a huge challenge.
The progress we’ve seen has been amazing. My dog is noticeably calmer, more controlled, and much more comfortable around people. We’re now able to have visitors over without the same level of anxiety, which has made a huge difference in our daily life.
If you’re dealing with similar issues, I highly recommend Adam. He truly knows what he’s doing and genuinely cares about helping both dogs and their owners succeed.

Canine Obedience Training at Hunt Club
501 Viking Dr #2912, Virginia BeachWe adopted Stitch, a six year old beagle mix in November 2025. My wife told me that I had to train him (and ME). However, due to our upcoming scheduled obligations and trips, I didn’t start right away. We did start training with Dory in April, and we are doing great!
We started out with private lessons because Stitch would bark at EVERYTHING, other dogs, squirrels, a leaf, the wind. You know, he’s part beagle. Also, he was an abuse/neglect case, and as we were adopting him, the rescue covered his vet dental - and they had to remove 37 teeth! He only has the two lower canines left. So food and treats are a challenge. I mention this because positive reinforcement is key to training success. Dory gave us the idea for a great training treat, and it’s been key to how well Stitch has been progressing.
We completed our private lessons and have noticed a HUGE improvement in Stitch’s behavior. Dory invited us to observe one of her group classes and we all were impressed with his reaction to the room of unfamiliar dogs. Dory taught me on how to lead Stitch to modify his barking (though non-aggressive behavior) when he sees other dogs. After his initial vocalizations at the class, I applied the techniques Dory taught me and we were able to walk Stitch around the class and not a peep from him!
We’re looking forward to continuing his (our) training with Dory’s group lessons soon!

I was looking for a space that felt less like a kennel with glass enclosures and more open, comfortable, and home-like where they could move around and feel at ease.
Kitty Island ended up being exactly that. It’s very clean inside, calm, and clearly designed with cats in mind. I booked the King’s Quarters since my cats are on different diets, and the connecting window between the rooms worked out perfectly. They could still see and interact with each other, but I didn’t have to worry about feeding.
The staff was great and easy to work with, and I appreciated getting photo updates during their stay. It helped seeing them relaxed and comfortable.
When I picked them up, both cats were calm, and my shy cat was noticeably more at ease than he’s ever been after boarding. That really stood out to me.
Overall, this just felt like the kind of environment I was originally hoping to find. I’ll definitely be bringing them back here if I need to board them again and would recommend it if you’re looking for a calmer, cat-only place.

I took my wife here for her birthday and I knew it was going to be expensive but it was well worth it. The decor is beautiful. I noticed the detail. Great lighting. Everything from the appetizer to the drinks to the cups to the menus, there were even pillows in the booths. Beautiful bar. Really can't say enough about the food. It was art.
Everything from the steak that melts in your mouth to the flavors of the salad to the paired wine (which was exquisite) - just perfect.
Service was out of this world. Our server was excellent, his timing was perfect, and he really took the time to explain things and to help us pair wines. The entire staff worked together seamlessly, replacing our silverware after each course and knew exactly what types of knives and never had to ask. They were on it.
Amazing experience. You've got to try. I'm going to try to go back soon so I can order something else to experiment on the menu.

The smoky flavor of the fire grill enhanced the flavor of everything! Easily the best meal we’ve had in Virginia Beach, possibly on the east coast! The service was also great!

To this day that paw print box with her paw print and photo keep me grounded.

2413 London Bridge Rd, Virginia BeachI just adopted my dog last month and couldn't wait to take her here. We finally made it today and had such a great time! It was a beautiful day, the outside space with all the different seating options was so nice, and my dog enjoyed meeting new dogs and people. I enjoyed meeting new dogs and people! The food and drinks were really good and my dog enjoyed her chicken bites! It was nice to sit and chat with other dog people and just be able to meet new people and just be in such a positive and happy environment. I am so sad to hear Pups and Pints is closing this month. Just when I felt I found a perfect place for me and my dog to hang out. It is so sad. I really hope they can find another location and reopen. This is such a amazing place and so many of us and our dogs are going to miss it.

3040 Holland Rd, Virginia BeachGot to vaccine clinic early and waited for the check in. I received a call a few minutes later with questions and next received a text with my spot in line. Once they came and got my dog they brought him back until the test came through. Then they took him back for vaccine. The staff were all kind and helpful.

Hope For Life Rescue

Hope for Life has a great mission and the staff and volunteers truly love the work that they do. I want to thank Nicole for being so patient and kind to us while we made the decision on adopting.
