“Great service, knowledgeable staff, clean store, and 511 has always had good products. I stopped in yesterday to get a new pair of pants and boots after my last pair of 511 boots held up for an astonishing 4 years of construction work. You are paying extra for that, but if you do physical labor or otherwise frequent the outdoors, the length of time before you have to buy again makes up for it. Buy once, cry once as they say. They also make real good plate carriers if you're planning on larping, doing weighted calisthenics, or you're a swat lad looking for a better setup than the department issued you. 10/10 will go back when I wear through these new boots in another 3-4 years.”

If you ask, they will help you style an item and recommend different pieces if you are going to an event or in search of something to fill a specific need. The store’s curation is beautiful and very contemporary. There are lots of interesting, easily wearable pieces that my eye often doesn’t fall on right away because of how attractive the unusual/textural/sculptural stuff is. The result of the aesthetic mix inspires thinking differently about dressing and styling, even when I don’t pick anything up. Fair warning—some of the price tags are steep, but A) not all of them are that way, and B) higher cost per piece is often the nature of shopping for high quality pieces from small brands and emerging designers who do not have the scale and/or willingness to cut costs on sourcing materials, production processes, labor practices, craftsmanship, or thoughtful design. And you can always wait for a sale—there are very good deals on a lot of cool, niche, sometimes very high-end pieces. Nothing here comes from a 52-micro-season brand. Like its peer boutiques on Vine St (Continuum, TMBTITWI, Sloane), everything at Idlewild has careful thought and artistry behind it. Go, browse, be mindful and open-minded—the people who make up this business are that way themselves.”

“I'm from Northern Ireland and got married on October 9th in Cleveland. I bought a full outfit and am very pleased with the quality of the outfit and the service that Celtic Corner provided. We called in advance and booked an in-person appointment on July 3rd. I was measured and purchased everything that day at the store, except for a specific color of kilt and fly plaid that I wanted, which was ordered from the UK and arrived in just over 6 weeks (as expected). When the items arrived the fabrics did not match perfectly but Celtic Corner sourced and produced for us a custom-made kilt and fly plaid cut from the same material and ensured that they were mailed to us speedily, before our wedding. In fact, we liked the new kilt and fly plaid better than the original ones I ordered. Celtic Corner were always responsive via phone and email, provided friendly service, and worked hard to ensure that we got the outfit we wanted on time.”
