“Luke Brody is one of the most amazing humans we have ever encountered on a renovation team: wow, this company stands out.We renovated a home in Portland from out of state over FT during the pandemic in 2020-2021... these days were difficult for most of us, but I never knew it when I spoke with Luke. He always had our family's needs in mind and went to great lengths to educate, advocate, and ease the appliance search process for an LGBTQI+ family with multi-racial children moving to a new place. We always felt welcome and attended to. He is such a hard worker and never once left us hanging.We only have rave experiences to report from the hundreds of emails/calls/communications this company sent our way. “Wow! Steven and Michael delivered our stove today and they were SO polite, careful, thorough, and on-time! Above that, they knew everything needed to know about the install. My space was problematic and they were able to troubleshoot a perfect solution that now the new stove fits better than the previous and looks absolutely custom and built-in. Better than the original. Those guys were methodical, precise, and laid back/funny too! This is my 3rd appliance from Kaady and we will never buy anywhere else. I mean - why would we? Charlene in sales was smart, funny, low-key and super knowledgeable. She really cared about what our situation was and obviously cared about that more than making a sale. This place is like the old fashioned “customer-first” mindset of yesteryears gone by. Love ‘em. Give those boys a raise!”

“This is the best customer service I have ever had. Kind and knowledgeable staff went above and beyond when answering my questions. I bought a hot tub in 10 minutes. No analysis paralysis necessary which surprised me as I have no idea about hot tubs, did no research, and frankly, think they're ugly. I had some criteria as follows: 1. I didn't want the plastic tie-dye 1970's porn aesthetic. 2. I wanted a tub that I could use saline rather than chlorine. 3. My husband is 6'4" and it had to be big enough to have is shoulders submerged when sitting and the option to fully his legs sitting or floating. 4. Low monthly operating costs. 5. No pad necessary. 6. I was on a budget. We got a Bullfrog which is going to cost us 13/month to keep heated 7 days a week. Waiting for the delivery so no feedback or photos but I am going back to have them convert my wood burning fireplace to gas.”

“Just got my dryer repaired and now it works better than ever. Hearing element burned out due to enormous amounts of lint surrounding it. THIS is the place to go if you want someone who knows everything there is to know about fixing dryers. He let me assist him, watching and learning about my dryer as he went. He was friendly and personable. He exemplifies Portland. Jovial, knowledgeable and friendly. He immediately feels like one of the family and really knows his stuff. “We have been customers of Stark's for decades, going back to the days when we would visit large store between (what was then) SE Grand and SE Union Avenues, and there were not as many convenient neighborhood locations. Since then, we have purchased various cleaning aids, had repair work performed, and obtained spare parts (such as drive belts) for the machines in (almost daily) use in our house. When our youngest daughter moved out, her first vacuum cleaner came from Starks. The folks behind the counter at the SE 83rd & Stark Street location are unfailing in their courteous customer service, and the pricing is always fair. [One note: Just recently (on a Monday afternoon), the Montavilla Sewing Center (at the Montavilla location) had been partitioned off from Starks. That may have been a temporary measure since there was a sewing class in progress at the time. The partition caused patrons to use specific exterior entries to the emporium of their choice rather than being able to commute freely between the two businesses within the building.]”

“Your basic Home Depot conveniently located right off the Murrayhill exit on 26, I stop by this location when I'm in the area. It has all the typical departments and layout but somehow it seems easier to get around, not as massive and overwhelming. The store is well organized, shelves are stocked and they typically have what I'm looking for whether that's ant killer, cleaning products, lighting, garden supplies or hardware. And they always have seasonal items like Christmas, BBQ, and spring-fall, annuals, perrenials, shrubs and trees. Plus garden soil, planters and supplies. The indoor houseplant section is also nice and they always have a varied selection. Succulents, bromeliad, pathos, ferns, snake plants, cactus - I've bought it all! My entire plant selection is thriving and I've only had one plant that didn't do well and they exchanged it no questions asked. Most stores don't reimburse you for plants because they have no idea if it was cared for properly. The fact that they gave me a new pothos made me a happy and return customer.”

Then proceeded to rant and rave spewing his unmasked spit all over. They asked me so many times if I was ok. (This was caring!) And answered all my home fix-it questions with care. Basically escorting me around the store. It can be a little intimidating to be in a huge store like that when you are just learning about projects and your new home's needs!!
