“Very cool bookstore! We walked in from the downpour right before closing and were greeted by the nicest people. We perused the vast amount of books for a very small space; and beautiful selection of cards. Since they were closing and we didn’t have an umbrella, the owner offered us hers. She even went out to her car to get it! She went above and beyond to help us out! If we lived closer we would visit this bookstore more frequently.”
“A very sweet and charming bookstore. I needed some recommendations for young readers and it was so nice to speak with the shop clerk who gave me some great options. A perfect Sunday activity!”
“Good evening Google Family. This is my very first time visiting Harriet's Bookshop. I visited to promote Yolanda's children's book, Brown like Me. Miss Jeannine Cook is the owner/CEO of Harriet's bookshop. I had previously contacted Miss Cook through email. I decided to go in person to visit the bookstore and possibly meet Miss Cook. Harriet's Bookshop is named for Harriet Tubman. It is a beautiful place with plenty of books and many books by black authors. I loved the setup of the place. They have a long table and chairs and candles. I love the decor and ambience of the place. A beautiful place to hold a book signing. I also loved that they have a coffee/tea setup in the bookshop. It is in the process of being opened. Hoping that it will be open in time for Yolanda's book signing. It was great to meet Miss Cook and she also has a book that she wrote and it is available for sale in the bookshop. The book is called It's Me they Follow by Jeannine A. Cook. I enjoyed my experience here in the bookshop, networking and talking with Miss Cook. I am truly looking forward to Yolanda's book signing here. It will be a winner!!! Also Yolanda's book, Brown like Me is currently on the bookstore shelf, hardback and paperback. $15.00 for paperback and $20.00 for the hardback. God is Good!!! Workout, be healthy, fit and Fabulous especially for people over fifty years of age.”
“Great customer service... Great books... Great products for health and beauty... Great experience all around! Number 1 on my list! I definitely recommend a visit.”
“It was a easy experience. The nurses were extremely helpful. Mrs.Asha was very caring and understanding. The nurses there make doctors visit more pleasant than it would be. I really appreciate they services. Awesome team over there.”
“I miss buying books in person. It’s an experience that I am nostalgic for. Unfortunately, Barnes and Noble is so expensive in comparison to online. I still come occasionally for the experience though, of buying a book in person and taking it home and reading it immediately. I love the smell of coffee inside too!”
“Great bookstore!!!!!
Nicest folks. Ive been coming here for over 10 yrs. Beautiful store on Penns campus. Academic titles. Sociology. Cookbooks. Massive collection pf art. I have no idea why someone would call these wonderful people unprofessional and useless.”
“Hands down the cutest shop in Manayunk. Very friendly and helpful staff, diverse selection of books for all readers, and a cozy vibe! What more can you ask for from a bookstore?”
“The women who were closing tonight (5/16) were amazing. We needed to find Henny Penny for a baby shower in the morning. Unfortunatly we were the ones walking in right before closing. They ended up staying a little late to make sure we had exactly what we needed. We're extremely appreciative of their help!”
“What a gem! Amazing independent bookstore. My daughter loves kids corner in the back of the store. Staff always willing to give great book recommendations . We love supporting this small business.”
“We went on a Sunday and found the small store bustling. Employees were helpful and easy with recommendations. I got a signed Chuck Wendig novel and a handful of other things that looked interesting. Fun spot”
“This is an absolutely wonderful bookstore. It is my go to, to find all sorts of books in a hurry. Especially in the fields of Sociology and Anthropolgy, but they have a vast collection in many, many fields.”

“A wonderful addition to Philadelphia's small Bookshop scene. This brand new bookstore offers great choices of brand new books, including some Niche fiction and nonfiction that Philadelphia's can appreciate (as well as others). There are also many Used Books available for discounted rates”
“I felt like a kid in a candy store Mash'Allah good prices on books of beneficial knowledge May Allah Subhanahu WA Ta'Ala reward everyone involved in the upkeep of this establishment with what is good in this life and the next Aameen”
“What a wonderful bookseller! I can walk in, talk to the lovely folks who work there, and come away with wonderful suggestions for new reads. The selection is expansive and hidden gems always await within.”
“I’ve been buying Islamic books from this store for a while now — Alhamdullillāh — so visiting it for the first time, coming from out of state, was a really nice experience. They had such a wide range of books to choose from — mā shā’ Allāh, tabārak Allāh — and of course, you can’t leave without getting books — Alhamdullillāh.
I forgot to take pictures, but they also had a great selection of modest clothing — it was refreshing to see. There were so many pieces I wanted to get, but with all the smiles and excitement, I would’ve gone broke!
I ended up getting an overhead and an ʿabāyah — both made from very beautiful material. They were a bit on the pricey side, but the quality (at least for the ones I purchased) was genuinely nice, so I could understand the pricing. From my experience, Philly tends to be a bit pricey overall, so it aligns with what I’ve seen Islamic clothing typically go for in the city — wa Allāhu Aʿlam.
Alhamdullillāh, the owner and his wife were very kind and pleasant. May Allāh bless them, preserve their business in goodness, and make it pleasing to Him. Āmīn.”
“Everytime I come here i’m always in awe! I’ve always left with finding a book, and having an awesome experience. I absolutely love everything about this place, from what they do to the absolutely amazing employees they have! This place couldn’t get any better, and I couldn’t recommend it enough!!”
“Awesome staff and great selection of books. You can find my book, Ancient Chinese Philosophy Impacts the Business World on the second floor in the investment section”
“Such a cute community book store. The store is small but organized and inviting. They even have a Little Free Library outside. They have nice reading areas to enjoy.”

“I’m so thankful for this bookstore ministry. This bookstore has fed the spiritual needs of thousands in this area and elsewhere. The staff is so nice and professional and the store itself is organized in a consumer friendly style.”
“Whenever I travel outside of where I live and go someplace that I don't travel to very often or maybe someplace that I may never again, I like to find a comic book store in the general area that I'm visiting if I have the extra time. And B.N.W. was that spot. My luck it was conveniently just right around the corner from where I had to go in the 1st place. This place has it all. From comic books (of course) and collected editions, back issues to everything current that came out that week. They have some beautiful miniature (some not so mini) statues or busts of superheroes and/or villains, up to date and collectable card games (Magic, etc) and even some Funkos to throw in the mix. Really cool shop and the gentlemen behind the counter were helpful and very courteous as well. 100% recommend if you are in or near, the Willow Grove area. Its literally across the street from the mall too.”
“I did not feel welcomed by the front staff member but they did nicely helped me and answered my questions. I'd give this a 3-star rating but I appreciate our public library and so I bump the rating up.”
“Very big B&N compared to Cherry Hill. Security guard by the main entrance and escalators. Huge selection of books and other items available. I'd definitely go here to get my books.”
“SJU is an amazing school! As an alumni, I believe that having an even more amazing bookstore is even better. Frequently, we visit the bookstore to get outfits for my children, cute stuffies, and alumni shirts. SJU we shall see you soon!”
“We try to prioritize pre-loved/second-hand toys for our kiddo, but when going to children’s birthday parties where we know the parents would prefer new, we always pick up a gift here. We love supporting small, local businesses. They have an awesome selection and we usually have to drag our kiddo out because she wants to play with everything, ha. The store is organized very well and the employees are very warm and helpful. Lastly, they have a really cool option to purchase a gift bag for a few dollars (can’t remember the exact cost) and the full amount goes to a local animal nonprofit. We always choose that option.”

“My son introduced me to Westminster Bookstore this week when he saw my tattered ESV Trimline I've had since 2008. I wanted the same filigree embossed design. I found it here for much less than other stores. Easy to navigate website, detailed descriptions with lots of images. Love the Wishlist feature! The donation option made me feel part of the ministry. I'll be returning to buy the journaling/study version.”
“The campus store has a great selection of memorabilia and convenience items. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful when selecting books. They helped me purchase all of the books I would need and at the best prices. I was very impressed.”
“love this school! they help a lot financially. don't need sat/act scores to get in. give generous grants if you need it. offer free counseling as well. professors care about you. tutoring is also free. on campus jobs are good and work with your hours. housing is decent, maintenance employees come quickly if there's a problem. may not need to pay for parking if living on campus. only bad feature is the food, food court is barely open and there's not many options.”
“It is a very nice small place, but is packed with info about God and how to be a Christian. Very clean. Helpful, pleasant staff. Soooo much to choose from❣✌🏾”
