Pet Grooming

Holy Shihtzu
335 Ohio St, BellinghamBeyond thrilled with my experience having Mellissa groom my 7 lb, biewer terrier. Roo is extremely nervous when getting groomed and Mellissa was incredibly patient and loving, giving Roo breaks as she needed throughout the whole process. It was especially evident when I returned to pick her up and Roo was running around wagging her tail asking Mellissa to hold her again. Clearly a positive experience for Roo, despite her fear. She had a perfect cut, smelled amazing and her hair felt like velvet! Great price and clean location. Will never go anywhere else! Highly recommend! Your dog children will thank you for bringing them to a groomer who truly care about their well being.

I moved back to my home town across the state just before summer, called her while I was in town and she was able to get my other dog in right away. Her work is so amazing and she never disappoints. Village Veterinary Hospital
236 36th St, BellinghamWe’ve been taking our cats to Village Vet for the past few years, along with a few other kitties we’ve found on the street, and every single visit has been a great experience! We’ve come for yearly checkups, vaccinations, blood tests, illnesses, last minute (mild) emergencies, a spay, and more. They also provided us with a recommendation for a foot surgeon when our kitten needed a toe amputated. They are so versatile, while also making the process super easy.
Some of our cats are nervous at first, but the way the techs/VAs make them comfortable, play with them, and give them treats makes appointments go so smoothly. I brought our cat Marvin in a few days ago, and he genuinely had such a fun time, he probably can’t wait to come back!
I find their prices affordable, and we’ve even gotten discounts when bringing in multiple cats for their yearly visits. We also have pet insurance, and Village Vet always provides paperwork and bills in the exact way I need them. I have never felt pressured to pay or purchase anything, and they are very transparent when things aren’t necessary.
Shout out to Lee who has helped us out multiple times, and Annie who has been our VA quite a few times as well. They are both lovely people, hard workers, and individuals who obviously enjoy what they do. We’ve met many of the vets here and all of them have been very helpful and great at explaining everything.
I also love the way they treat pets in general. Pets are given your last name and are treated like family members. One time I arrived half way through an appointment (my partner was with the cats, and I came from work) and they said “your family is waiting in room two.” Obviously the big things are important, but the little things like that are what makes this place so great!
We’ve recommended this vet to many of our friends, and we will continue coming back!

Larrabee Animal Medicine
1110 Larrabee Ave #202, BellinghamMy cat is petrified of vets. It takes every ounce of emotional strength for both of us to go to a veterinary facility. But everytime I have taken Tux to Dr.Day, I have been able to go in with him, calm him down and stay with him until he is sedated and calm. I feel totally comfortable leaving Tux in his care and I love how they care for him. Now, Dr Day's ultrasound imaging is thorough and precise. He covers everything in detail and its easy to understand. He can definitely do a proper job with accuracy and professionalism. I highly recommend Larabee Animal Medicine for your pets ultrasound needs.
Thank you Dr DAY,

Dr. Christine Monroe DVM
2869 W Maplewood Ave, BellinghamMaplewood has been our vet for the last 7 years and we have always been very happy with their level of care and service for our dog. Six years ago we moved an hour away but still made the drive to Maplewood -- until recently when we had to find a local vet for monthly allergy shots. Our dog is currently experiencing leg paralysis and the local vet is scheduling 2 weeks out. We called Maplewood and got an appointment next day. Dr. Dunbar was compassionate, knowledgeable, took her time, and did a thorough examination, including x-rays, and suggested it was a neurological issue, which all made sense. Enter Misti, the most amazing person you'll ever come across at a vet's office. She helped us find a specialist, coordinated with records transfer and referral, all at lighting speed and with the most compassionate heart. She is superwoman rockstar and I'm so grateful for her, Dr. Dunbar, and all the staff at Maplewood.

Fairhaven Veterinary Hospital: Schasch Heather DVM
2330 Old Fairhaven Pkwy, BellinghamI have a severely reactive dog and I wasn't sure how visits to the vet could ever go well for him. I told the staff at Fairhaven Vet his issues and they put together a game plan. I was very pleased and impressed how smooth the visit went. I took my boy back to get neutered and they handled it so well. The staff is very kind and understanding toward difficult dogs. Life with a reactive dog isn't easy, but Fairhaven Vet took excellent care of him and put me at ease. There's no question I will be going to Fairhaven Vet for all my pet needs.

Pet Sitting & Training

Tails A Wagging Doggie daycare & canine training center
3959 Hammer Dr, BellinghamI cannot recommend Tails-A-Wagging more for daycare and training! We started at Tails with our foster dog, Eva, by attending their free Puppy Preschool. It was so invaluable to our puppy and such a great service to the community. We then took our pup to Puppy Kindergarten with Rae twice because we enjoyed it so much and got so much from it. We then started enrolling Eva in daycare. It is so wonderful to know that all the hard work you are putting into your dog at home is being reinforced and not undone while in their care. Their entire staff is so knowledgeable, helpful, responsive, and they really make you feel like your dog is their favorite dog. The facilities are very clean, and it is clear that your pet's health is their top priority. This past summer, we joined the Dogs in the Real World class, which was EXCELLENT in helping our dog who can be a bit reactive in certain scenarios. Tails is so great that the foster dog we started there with found her forever home in our home. No way we are letting that perfect girl (winky face) go now! Thank you, Tails! <3

Stella Sopra Italian Food Truck
2529 Meridian St, BellinghamIf you find yourself anywhere near the Tulip Festival, make sure this spot is on your list. During our weekend of tulip sightseeing, Stella Sopra ended up stealing the show. We came for the flowers, but this little food truck parked at Tulip Valley Winery delivered the kind of meal that sticks with you. There's something magical about pairing genuine, well-crafted Italian food with a flight of local wines. Chef Alberto runs the whole operation himself cooking, serving, sharing stories, and making you feel like you've been invited to Sunday lunch at his family's table in Italy. His passion shows in every bite. I've had plenty of eggplant parm over the years, but this one? Best I've ever eaten. Served in a simple plastic container yet unforgettable perfectly balanced sauce pasta cooked just right, and eggplant that was tender and full of flavor. My husband ordered the chicken mushroom ravioli, and I was tempted to sample half of it. Big, pillowy pasta filled with rich, savory goodness an absolute win! We also split a Caesar salad (because veggie balance is important) and ended on a high note with tiramisu. It was airy, creamy, and just espresso kissed enough to keep you going back for another spoonful. We lingered on the patio glass of wine in hand, soaking up the scenery and wondering how a food truck in the middle of tulip country had turned into one of our favorite dining experiences in ages. The Stella Sopra truck travels between Bellingham and Mount Vernon. If you see it parked anywhere don't overthink it. Order whatever catches your eye. You'll definitely leave happy.

Mercato delle Bontà
1211 Granary Ave Suite 128, BellinghamDuring a recent visit to Bellingham we decided to try this place for lunch. The menu was much more comprehensive than we initially anticipated and everything looked and smelled great. We ended up getting the smokehouse sandwich, the caprese sandwich and some mini canoli. This place has both the best canoli and best focaccia either of us has ever had. Absolutely incredible crust and filling on the canoli and the focaccia was expertly baked, with a slight crunch to the crust. We will be back to Bellingham just to visit this gem. 10/10, fantastic job. The only down side is we bought two full-size canoli to go and forgot them at the restaurant. Another good reason to return because we can't stop thinking about how good they were!
