“On December 25th, around 5 PM, my son and I were looking for an open restaurant in Kirkland and were just hoping to find good food. After not finding anything, a family downtown recommended Koza to us — and we’re so glad they did.
The food was delicious and the atmosphere was welcoming. We enjoyed it so much that a week later, for my son’s birthday, he asked to go back for lunch. Once again, it was a great experience.
Highly recommend!”

“I accidentally dropped a bottle of balsamic vinegar here. Glass shattered, balsamic everywhere. Staff were extremely kind and helped me get cleaned up and gave me a bandage for my hand.
Sorry for the mess, but thank you for helping so much!”

“There’s a specific kind of nostalgia that comes with Houghton Market that’s hard to replace, because it wasn’t just a grocery store—it was a rhythm of life in Kirkland. It had that slightly scrappy, neighborhood-first feel where you knew the layout without thinking about it, and you built little routines around it without ever calling them routines. It was the kind of place where grabbing “just a few things” always turned into a longer stop because you’d recognize what was on the shelves, what was in the deli case, what smelled good that day.

When Metropolitan Market took it over, it didn’t erase that memory, but it reframed it. Everything got more intentional—lighting, presentation, prepared foods, the whole experience—but the emotional layer stayed behind in fragments. So you get these moments where you’re standing in the same general space and your brain is doing two things at once: appreciating how good everything is now, while also quietly remembering how it used to feel when it was just… yours, in a more local way.

That’s probably why the longing for expansion up north feels so strong. Snohomish and Everett don’t really have an equivalent of that “high-end but still grab-a-weeknight-dinner” market. There are good grocery stores, sure, but not many that blend comfort, quality, and indulgence in the same walkable, browseable way. So Metropolitan Market feels like something missing rather than something optional.

If it ever did expand into Snohomish County, it would likely land really well—not just as another grocery option, but as that familiar “this is where I pick up dinner, but also accidentally spend 20 minutes looking at desserts” kind of place.”

“While Metropolitan market lacks a lot of vegan options, PCC has many! Lots of deli and bakery options and all are great. The peanut butter cookies are the best. They have new vegan things first like My bacon and rebel cheese (usually around the holidays). Their staff is always kind and helpful! The produce selection is also top tier, unique options and super fresh and clean.”

“I use the grocery store and the pharmacy. I want to recognize Kate Atienza the Pharmacy leader for her great professionalism. The entire team is fantastic.
The pharmacy is one of the main reasons I use QFC.”

“It’s a traditional Eastern European store where you can find Russian food, chocolates, dumplings, and even books. The décor, inspired by the ’90s, adds a touch of charm and nostalgia, especially for those who emigrated from the USSR.”

“I'd say from my experience the food here is superb, especially the tasty sandwiches there! For this economy the prices aren't to bad either, and the staff there are always making my day, just overall a good vibe would recommend to a friend!”

“Nice store, smaller than other Whole Foods. They had fresh salads, pastas, soups, sushi, and pizza. Lots of cheese choices too. But they did not have made to order sandwiches.”

“They have a good beer, wine, and snack selection along with items from milk and eggs to baking soda and flour. I've lived a very short walk from the Super Food Store since 2010 and once I realized this was a convenience store and it didn't have sale prices like Safeway and Costco, I came to understand that their markups aren't that bad. And if you don't like the price drive a few more miles and save yourself 100 pennies. Convenience Store. The main two people whom tend the till are Kevin (the owner) and Mel. They are very polite and personable and will listen to reasonable requests. I visit the store several times each week. I prefer to buy from them because they are locally managed and owned by Kevin.”

“Clean . Large store. Wide isles. Fully stocked. Good American store. Friendly employees. Local . There are alot of goodness about fredmeyer stores. Fred Meyer is one of my top favorite stores.
Good discounted prices

Mandy at the customers service is the best. She is knowledgeable, fast, honest, helpful, and has really good customer service

Even though they got 5 stars.
But please watch what you are being asked to pay.

Please make sure it matches what you saw on the coupon, and what you saw on the display, or the sticker, because many times you would be asked to pay much higher .
Or you will end up going to customer service to get refunds & correct casheirs over charging you

This location has really terrible casheirs.”

“This is a small grocery store offering Persian food. There are about hand full of Persian grocery stores like this in the greater Seattle/Bellevue/Kirkland area with very similar offerings. Nothing really special or different about this grocery store other than it’s a little smaller, and also they freeze their bread, so it’s not fresh but it is not stale either. There is a Persian bakery (local hot bread) within about a mile so I personally recommend buying the bread from them as their bread is fresh.
The gentleman running the store was courteous and helpful.”

“Great little neighborhood QFC. Lots of parking outside and the store is always clean and easy to navigate around. Carts and baskets are always available and organized.

Shelves are usually well-stocked and you can always find the basics here. However, on busy days, the produce department can run low on some basic items.

Staff are friendly and helpful when needed. This QFC is well-worth a visit.”

“Love the pharmacy! They do a bang up job. There is a young woman in front end with dark hair, a manager I think, she is very rude. I might not shop here anymore if she continues to be around. I experienced her ugliness again yesterday.”

“Only negative thing about safeway is restroom. It is extremely dirty and need to go through renovation. 2 bathrooms are not enough for this store. Walls , doors toilet bowl are extremely dirty. Anytime I have used it is same situation.”

“I truly appreciate having a Safeway in our neighborhood, and it is my first choice for grocery shopping. You just need to shop wisely—register for a membership, check the weekly ads, and load digital coupons before you go. When you do, you’ll find many great deals available at this store.

I frequently buy beef, fruits, and vegetables here. The produce is often local or sourced from nearby states such as California, so it is fresher than what I usually find at Costco. I also enjoy their Boston Cream Fruit Cake, as it is not overly sweet. Their ice cream cake is my kids’ favorite choice when it comes to birthday cakes. Don’t forget their popular Cheap Chicken Monday deal—you can get eight pieces of fried chicken for just $5.99 + tax. The only downside I would mention is that their donuts often sell out quickly. If I shop in the late afternoon, there are usually very few donuts left on the shelf, if any. Some people told me that he can buy discounted donuts at the QFC near his place after 7:00 p.m., but you can’t really expect that to happen at this Safeway.

I enjoy shopping at this Safeway and hope it continues to stay open.”
