I Dig My Dog
2160 E Foothill Blvd, PasadenaI have been coming here for about 6 months. Everyone is very friendly and responsive. Within 2 visits, the staff knew her by name. My dog with separation anxiety pulls me down the street to get in. We had spent a few weeks away with the holidays and the fire evacuation, and the staff mentioned we'd been gone awhile and how they missed her. This evening, after she spent 9.5 hours there, I got her into the car to go home, and she jumped out and ran back up the sidewalk, wiggling by the front door of the daycare until I caught up. She loves it here THAT MUCH.
Cannot overstate how happy we both are to have this place in our neighborhood.
Edited to add: my dog has taken to howling with excitement the entire drive over to daycare too. We've been coming here for a year, and we have no plans of stopping! Thanks, IDMD! ♥️

The Bowhaus Pet Company
2472 E Colorado Blvd, PasadenaWhen I first adopted my dog I figured I could do all of his grooming. Let me tell you that while I did a good enough job it was not at the level that the professionals here at Bowhaus perform these tasks. They set a high standard of care and compassion which is why I take him in for regular grooming every 4 to 6 weeks. This place not only cares for our pets, they also care about them. I appreciate all of the staff here so much!!!

Pasadena Pets Veterinary Hospital
2850 E Foothill Blvd, PasadenaI wouldn't easily trust any other vets for the sake of my dogs' health other than Dr Christina Fan at the Pasadena Pets Vet. Very knowledgeable yet honest with her opinions and recommendations, always giving two sides of the story, so as a pet owner, I am able to make a sound decision weighing out the pros and cons. knowledge and integrity are two key factors for a good vet.

Your compassion, professionalism, and genuine concern meant more to me than I can put into words. I always knew exactly what was happening, and I even received a thoughtful text the next day to check on how my girl was doing. Sierra Madre Animal Hospital
927 N Michillinda Ave, PasadenaI brought a friends dog in while they were out of town. The hospital is very clean and the staff is knowledgeable and polite. The veterinarian was kind and straight forward. The dog was a bit scared and the staff took great care of her.
The reason I gave four stars out of five, is that the interior is lacking some of the more modern amenities and features that animal hospitals I've visited else where have and offer.

Banfield Pet Hospital
3347 E Foothill Blvd, PasadenaI have had two vet visits at Banfield. Both times I saw Dr Chen, who was awesome. She took the time to explain everything and answer all our questions. There was also a vet tech at the first visit whose name I believe was Brian. He was also awesome and took the time to talk to us and explain everything. The receptionist working at the first visit was wonderful, but the receptionist working there at the second visit was rude. Other than that, I highly recommend them.

Advanced Veterinary Dentistry
150 N San Gabriel Blvd, PasadenaWent here and they took care of my corgis first broken fang with a crown. They also sealed 2 other booths that were luckily not infected. Unfortunately they cannot do a crown on any double rooted or triple rooted crown. So I had to go elsewhere. When I went to dog and cat dentist, they found out my corgi had 2 calcified booths. One was the triple rooted tooth was half calcified and the other was fully. This specialized dentist noted that advanced Vet dentistry isn't 100% accurate since they are an ordinary dentist and not specialized. So given that it was my first dog dentist. They're pretty a ok.

Love For Paws
4401 Jacobs Bend Drive, North ChesterfieldJennifer is incredible! After the initial phone call we could tell right away that she was going to be amazing.
Our dog was so anxious that he was afraid of the wind blowing through the trees when we got him, and had leash reactivity. By the time we finished working with her he has so much more confidence and isn’t reactive on leash. Jennifer helped us learn how to read his body language, how to build his confidence, and how to turn him from a fearful rescue to a trusting companion.
We could not be more pleased with Jennifer, her patience, compassion, knowledge, and the amazing fear-free methods she utilizes. We would recommend her to anyone!

Pet-Friendly Restaurants

Mediterranean Grill
105 N Hill Ave #101, PasadenaIncredible food and such welcoming service! The food was so good that we finished everything before even thinking to take a picture. We ordered the popular grill plate, and the meat was cooked to perfection alongside super fresh veggies. I was so impressed that they customized a bowl to accommodate my dietary restrictions without hesitation. They truly are a made-to-order spot. The quality is outstanding—honestly better than many high-end sit-down restaurants. Highly recommend!

Green Street Café
730 E Green St, PasadenaThe rice is definitely my favorite rice ever. The chicken is great, flavorful, pulls apart easily. Amazing food. But the best is dessert. The first time I had the halawa jabne I had my head in my hands and couldn’t speak. Each dessert is somehow as good. Every time I introduce a friend they have the same reaction - silent, head in hands. Most recently, my friend drove silent the whole way home afterwards. He said he’s going to be depressed for the next two weeks. I’ve never heard someone sigh so much, it’s like he’s in love.

Criterion coffee
39 N Arroyo Pkwy, PasadenaThis was the first time my wife and I had been to this coffee shop. I loved the atmosphere, very quiet and chill. The iced latte was spot on. My wife and I shared an avocado toast which was fantastic, never thought to put cucumber on the toast with a strawberry but it paired well. The toast did take 30 minutes to get to us. I had to go to the to the register and ask about it. I was told that the cook never received the order due to there being no paper in their machine. It happens so no biggie. My only advice would be maybe to have offered a free coffee or some compensation for waiting so long. Overall though, this place was fantastic and I would return!

Howlin' Ray's Hot Chicken - Pasadena
800 S Arroyo Pkwy, PasadenaProbably the best chicken sandwich I've ever had. I've eaten at some of the best in Nashville and I honestly liked this one better. Now let me say, I stay on the milder side and most of the stuff I had in Nashville was at or above my limit. Instill enjoyed them but all I tasted was the spice. I got a mild and honestly could have probably gotten the next level up and been ok but I thoroughly enjoyed it. The balance and flavors of the sandwich were fantastic. One of the things that makes me like this sandwich more than others is the slaw is vinegar based. I hate mayo slaw, it's just gross IMO.
The chicken and waffle was decent. Fry on the chicken was perfect and the meat was juicy. The waffle was really thick and a bit sweeter than I'd like but still good.
The collard greens are vegetarian and I took a chance on them. This was a good bet, these being vegetarian are better than most collards I've eaten, even ones with meat. They aren't hands down the best I've had but they are the best vegetarian ones by far.
I also got a side of the slaw which I really liked. It was crunchy and moist but I will say a bit sweet. I'm sure this helps balance the sandwich but on its own I wanted more acid from the vinegar and got a lot more sweet. I still enjoyed it and would order again.
The staff was super nice/friendly and we had a great dining experience. The only negative was the music in the bathroom was really loud and when I took my daughter in to change her diaper she was not having it. Other than that this place is fantastic and I'm looking forward to going there again.

Neighbors & Friends Cafe
88 Union St, PasadenaI knew I was in good hands when I entered and heard their baristas singing “Pink Pony Club” at the top of their lungs! The energy was great and exactly what I needed after a killer workout class. I ordered the Two Ladies Avo Toast, which was absolutely delicious! Generous portion of avocado, egg, and pickled red onion on top of a fresh toasted slice of sourdough.
However, I was really disappointed with the amount of chocolate drizzle/syrup on the inside of my mocha. The ice literally stuck to the syrup on the inside, making it all clump together. A proper mocha really doesn’t need all that chocolate (or any drizzle for that matter)— had I known, I would’ve ordered without it. Minus one star for the mocha. Otherwise, it was an enjoyable experience and I’d totally go back!

Alice's Dog Park
3026 E Orange Grove Blvd, PasadenaMy puppy loves going here! I appreciate that there are two gates to separate big pups ? from the small pups ? He and I have made friends! The parking is a little annoying since they recently constructed a ball pit for people, so parking can get heavy if you're not there at certain times. Sometimes, going around 4 pm as a start may make a difference.
Playground: They have a playground for children just at the beginning when you drive up next to a picnic area.
Toilets: Restrooms are located near the children's playground at the beginning when you drive up.
Dog-friendliness: Dog park is friendly. We just need to make sure we keep big pups and small pups separated - some pups don't get along with the big ones. Fights have happened.
Picnic area: The picnic area is great. Some at the beginning when you drive up, or more along as you drive in. Birthday parties happen. They can get crowded on weekends.
