When my 11 year old kitty became ill in 2025, I reached out to our local cat rescue facility in Cambria to see who these feline-focused experts would recommend for the care my kitty needed. Without reservation, they recommended Cat & Exotic Care in Pismo Beach. It's a long way to drive but alas, I took the plunge with my sweet Maisy Rae (who I adore) and so appreciated the care they provided! For starters, they made the way to get Maisy in that day and they didn't speak a word of the inconvenience a tail-end-of-the-day visit was for them, but instead were focused on immediate care to a kitty in trauma. Within minutes of our arrival, with other customers in-clinic, we were in a private treatment room where Maisy's needs and mine were being carefully and thoroughly addressed, with both a clinical and financial attentiveness and the conservative approach we needed. Dr. Conn's assistant, May, was knowledgeable, engaging, and empathic and handled Maisy with exceptional care. Though our needs kept staff well after closing hours, never once was a word spoken about the time and never once did we feel rushed, much less did we feel pressured into making decisions that conflicted with my financial limitations or Maisy's quality of life. Dr. Conn was very detailed with his explanations, our options, and the progression of treatment that could potentially unfold with Maisy's treatment needs. Never once did I feel either shamed or compelled in one direction or the other. Maisy and I both left their office feeling much better than when we arrived, and Maisy has done progressively better each day with the treatment regimen they provided. 24 hours later I had the results of the blood work they had taken, and it was Dr. Conn himself who called to check on Maisy and to discuss the results of her bloodwork. I couldn't be more pleased with the care we received and will be back without hesitation. The best care ever!

The Station
590 Cypress Street, Pismo BeachIt's the first time I visit a coffee shop inside a surf shop. Initially I thought I was at the wrong place and looked around a little confused. The barista is probably used to it and was very nice and patiently waited for me to figure out it was the right place.
The menu has the classic coffee shop offerings but also offers a which was very intriguing. There were lots of good choices and I'll definitely be back to try the Smoked Iced Americano some other day.
I ordered the Salted Caramel Latte. It was a perfectly balanced drink and the bruleed sugar at the top was so good. The sweetness was just enough and didn't cover the taste of the coffee.
The service took the experience to another level. The barista was friendly and welcoming. He showed great attention to detail and had that beautiful latte art on top before he finished the drink off with the bruleed sugar.
I highly recommend this place and it will be my go to spot for coffee anytime I'm in the area.

We had the fish and chips and it was great for the kids (spoiled), poke (delicious and fair priced), rock cod tacos - fresh and tasty and the clam chowder (surpisingly good for a less thick chowder). The hot sauce selection was amazing and the local house sauce was perfect. Wish there were more places like this around. Will be stopping in whenever I pass. Don't think twice.

Y'not gets points for its proximity to the freeway. They don't allow dogs inside, so we took our pups and sat on a sunny patch of grass behind the building. I ordered the quinoa bowl, my husband the mexi. What we got: a lot of quinoa (me), a lot of rice (him). I had to dig through a mound of grain to search for spinach leaves radishes, and almonds. Ditto for him. My husband also got a berry smoothie that was too sweet for me. Everything was fresh and tasted great. But for the prices, I would hope for a little more of the good stuff.
