Pet Care

Sporthorse Veterinary Services
7103 Via Del Charro, Rancho Santa FeThis guy saved my horses life.I have a 20yr old pain mare who foundered sometime 2 years ago. I had 2 vets come out, teach telling me upon examination of the radiographs that she should be out down immediately.they didn't take quality of life into consideration at all, or anything else for that matter.Needless to say I was desperate to find someone who speaializes in severe issues of the hoof.Mark was kind, clear, sincere & kind while explaining everything that he was doing and gave me his honest opinion as to where to go next in her treatment. Looked at everything as a whole and told me he didn't think that euthanasia was necessary. Though her condition wouldn't improve due to bone loss of the p3 bone , based on her activity level and zest for life, there's no reason why her condition couldn't be managed. He put her on equioxx, gave me tips on nutrition, farrier care, bedding/footing type and lots of other advice to make sure she stays comfortable for the rest of her life.*He was pricey but I didn't expect it to be cheap.I would 100% recommend mark if you have a horse with an issue with their feet. Don't let outdated veterinary training be the demise of your horse!!Thanks Mark, you are the best!!

Pet Sitting & Training

The Puppy Care Company
17288 La Brisa, Rancho Santa FeAlthough it has been several years since we used Christine’s services, I felt we should send a follow up review. We stay in touch with Christine and occasionally share photos of our Mini -Aussie (Lucy), who is now 3 1/2 and is a mature and beautiful girl. Anyone who has owned an Aussie (or any puppy), knows that the puppy phase is a challenge to figure out what to do with this fun but challenging bundle of energy. Christine helped us understand our new pup, and helped us with games and tasks to challenge her energy and intelligence, and help shape good behavior. That foundational training and understanding of our dog, helped tremendously, as we later got her into Agility, Nose-work, and AKC Good-Citizen award. Continued training never stops in our opinion. But Christine helped set the foundation for us and Lucy.

San Diego Pet Training
6461 El Apajo, Rancho Santa FeRob at San Diego Pet Training truly exceeded our expectations. We did the board-and-train program for our 6-month-old puppy, and the results were incredible. She stayed at his home, where Rob worked with her on basic obedience and manners, and we could see real progress right away.
From the very beginning, Rob was extremely thorough and thoughtful. While we were away, he consistently sent videos of our puppy’s training sessions and clearly explained what he was working on and the reasoning behind it. During drop-off, he took the time to explain all the training techniques he uses and why he uses them, which made us feel confident and involved in the process.
What really sets Rob apart is his ongoing support. Even after the training was completed, he made himself available for any questions or doubts and checked in to see how things were going at home. That level of care and follow-through meant a lot to us.
Rob is professional, trustworthy, and genuinely passionate about what he does. You can truly tell he loves his job and the dogs he works with. We highly recommend Rob and San Diego Pet Training to anyone looking to train their puppy or dog.

Club Pet
6525 Helen Woodward Way ste a, Rancho Santa FeWhen our regular dog sitter was unavailable during our three-week international trip, we were nervous about boarding our 7-year-old dog Chauk for the first time—as most dog owners he’s truly a family member, and he’d never stayed anywhere overnight.
Club Pet completely blew us away with their incredible support: constant access updates, videos, and texts letting us know exactly how he was doing every day, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away.
The customizable services let us pick and choose his activities and days (I might have over-planned his “itinerary” a bit to keep him active and loved!), and when we picked him up, there was zero mood change—he was happy, relaxed, and clearly well-cared for.
We now feel totally comfortable booking Chauk here for any future trips—thank you, Club Pet, for treating him like your own!

Pet-Friendly Restaurants

Leucadia Pizzeria Rancho Sante Fe
16085 San Dieguito Rd, Rancho Santa FeI placed a large catering order for a birthday party and everything was ready right on time for pickup. Shortly after I left, someone, I'm assuming to be the manager called to let me know some sides/condiments were accidentally left out. It wasn’t a big deal to me, but he went above and beyond by asking where the party was and sending someone to deliver the missing items. That level of integrity and customer service really stood out. Thanks again, Leucadia!

Caffe Positano, Village
6027 Paseo Delicias F, Rancho Santa FeMy friend recommended this cafe for studying, so I finally checked it out before an exam. There were several people with laptops and notebooks, but it still didn’t feel silent or uncomfortable. I ordered an americano and tuna sandwich around lunchtime. Coffee tasted strong without being burnt, and the sandwich ingredients actually seemed fresh. A blender behind the counter got noisy a few times while drinks were being made, though it never lasted long enough to become annoying. Pretty solid spot if you need focus without complete silence.
