7709 Fay Ave, La JollaI’ve been grooming my dog Chewie (6 years old) myself since he was a puppy, and I’m very picky about who I trust with him. He’s a 21 lb pug–poodle mix and recently developed some matting and stubborn beach tar between his paw pads that I just could not safely remove on my own because he’s extremely sensitive in that area and was not very cooperative.
Garrett and his team at La Jolla Grooming Company handled the situation beautifully. They showed real skill and technique not only with the grooming itself, but also in how they kept Chewie calm, comfortable, and happy throughout the process. In about 20 minutes, Garrett managed to get everything cleaned up, and the best part was that Chewie came out relaxed, wagging, and in great spirits.
What really impressed me was Chewie’s reaction afterward: he kept trying to go back into the salon, which to me is the clearest sign that dogs are treated gently and respectfully during grooming. Garrett truly has a “dog whisperer” touch, and I will absolutely be returning for any future grooming needs and recommending him and La Jolla Grooming Company to other dog parents.

It is my second time at Greenpaw and my dachsund mix is always a little hesitant with strangers. But Ethel quickly warmed up to the staff here. In less than 2 hours Ethel now has the cutest hair cut and she was happy as a clam. Thank you so much Green Paw! You rock! The gentleman who worked on Ethel is the absolute sweetest man on earth. Definitely a talented groomer and I look forward to bringing Ethel by soon!

I have a poodle terrier who had fear aggression and Colleen came to our place to work with him and taught us how to properly reinforce good behavior. Pawtopia has been around for years doing a fantastic job! I highly recommend them to help train puppies and to help with other behavioral training. Definitely the BEST around!

Staff has been kind, quick and attentive every time I've been over the years. While the dining area may be small, it is decorated with accolades, and the outside deck lets you catch the sea breeze. Better yet, take your food just down the road to enjoy by the beach.
Wonderful to see that some greatness doesn't tarnish or fade! Already looking forward to my next visit.

The Cat Lounge Rescue and Adoption Center

Nicole helped us when we checked in and with our adoption paperwork and she was so kind and helpful. The cat we ended up with is perfect for us, he’s healthy and happy and we cannot thank The Cat Lounge enough for rescuing our boy and connecting him with us.
