Pet Stores & Supplies

Muttropolis
227 S Cedros Ave, Solana BeachWe stopped in while they were having an adoption event and it was such a great time. Got to pet some puppies and learn about the rescue group, SPOT. A lot of unique brands I’ve never seen before (Buddybelt and Kenyan collars) and the customer service was the best. The ladies were so friendly and you can tell they really love dogs and working there. My dog loves the treats we got and the coconut ball is a hit. Will be back next spring break to visit

Pet Care

Academy Animal Hospital
741 Academy Dr, Solana BeachAcademy Animal Hospital has been taking care of our pets for 20 years. When our schnauzer, Willie, finally (at age 14) had to be put down, Dr. Beccari felt as bad as I did. All the employees are so helpful. Danny, the vet tech, is knowledgeable and caring. We always get a follow-up call. Our Winnie loved all the people there and they helped us manage her cancer.. And now Sammy the Schnauzer enjoys his visits with Dr. Reimann. I would recommend Academy to anyone.

Rancho Santa Fe Veterinary Hospital
971 Lomas Santa Fe Dr Suite A, Solana BeachThank you Rancho Santa Fe Vet, for the excellent care! This past week my puppy, Roo, swallowed a pin. The veterinary staff fit us in their schedule right away. After 3 days of my dog not passing the pin, the staff fit us in again on a fully booked Saturday. The nurses and vet took the time to talk to me about the pros and cons of how to proceed. It turns out that Roo had also ingested a palm tree seed that was likely preventing the pin from coming out. We were very lucky that the seed was discovered and didn't cause a serious blockage, requiring surgery. Roo is now pin and seed free.

Pet-Friendly Restaurants

Seven Seas Roasting Co. Solana Beach
312 S Cedros Ave, Solana BeachMy hubby and I were visiting the Solana beach area so naturally I had to get a strawberry matcha. Now, I’m a bit of a matcha snob, so i was disappointed when they didn’t have any strawberry matcha - no fresh fruit, no syrup, etc. Howvever….! They did have blackberry flavoring! I ended up getting a blackberry matcha with blackberry foam. It was delicious and not too sweet.

Solana Beach Fish House
124 Lomas Santa Fe Dr, Solana BeachSolana Beach Fish House is a great place when looking for a quick, healthy seafood meal without all the fuss of a full-service restaurant. The fish is consistently fresh, and the menu offers a great selection of sandwiches, tacos, salads, and seafood plates that are perfect for a casual self-serve lunch or dinner.
Over the years, both the menu and the prices have expanded, which I think is a testament to the restaurant's continued success and loyal following. They've managed to grow while staying true to what they do best in serving quality seafood quickly and consistently.
If you're in the area and want an easy, satisfying meal with fresh seafood and generous portions, and atmosphere is not a priority, this is an excellent choice. It's a simple concept that's been executed well for years, and I'm happy to recommend it.

Lofty Coffee Co.
132 S Cedros Ave, Solana BeachTruly fantastic coffee. I’m a New Yorker and truthfully Californians just don’t seem to do coffee well. Drip coffee seems to have America in a chokehold and getting a great espresso or any derivative of such (cortado, flat white, etc.) is worthless. We happend upon Lofty coffee and my boyfriend ordered the cortado. It came out perfect. To describe it in words would do it an injustice but I will still attempt: the espresso itself was so smooth and mixed with the milk perfectly - there was no separation at all. The milk was delicate - steamed but not airy nor watered down. The whole drink experience was so velvety - almost like sipping straight warmed cream. Truly I’ve never experienced anything like it.
I’m a daily coffee drinker and am deeply heartbroken I can’t have a Lofty’s cortado daily at home. Thank you for the wonderful experience.

Sisters’ Snack Shack
150 S Acacia Ave, Solana BeachWe were looking for a quick bite to eat that was dog friendly & this spot came up. We went in blind without reading reviews or anything & it was really such a pleasant surprise!
The place is small, but cute. The inside is clean. The menu is easy to navigate & everything seems fairly priced. The women behind the counter were very friendly & seemed to be having a good day.
There are some chairs & benches outside, which is nice. Water on the patio for dogs & people. The back picnic bench could use an umbrella or some kind of shade, but that's my only critique.
The food exceeded our expectations! Everything was fresh & flavorful with generous portions. The sausage tasted like it was made fresh, it was so delicious & I don't usually eat meat!
We were really happy with everything we got & would go here again.
This place is a hidden gem & I would absolutely recommend it to anyone in the area!

Ranch 45 Local Provisions
512 Via De La Valle #102, Solana BeachI can’t believe I just found this place! I’m from out of town working the fair, and this place is absolutely amazing. The food is top quality, the portions are generous, and the prices are very reasonable.
I had the Philly cheesesteak for lunch, and it was filling and delicious. Later I ordered the chicken sandwich for dinner, and it was an absolute home run. The fries and onion rings cooked in beef tallow were incredible and really set this place apart.
I’ve officially found my go-to spot anytime I’m in the area, and it’s even worth making a trip just to eat here. Places like this are hard to find these days. Thanks for the outstanding food and hospitality, and keep up the great work!
