Rutherford Hill Winery
200 Rutherford Hill Rd, RutherfordMy dear friend's birthday was approaching, and her husband had booked a room at this winery for a group wine tasting. Before the tasting, we had a tour of the grounds, where we learned about the wine-making process, storage, and grape cultivation. The facility was exceptionally clean, which I was pleasantly surprised by. I don't think they would offer tours if the facilities weren't up to par. Back in the room with the long dining table, we were served charcuterie boards that complemented the wine. Although I'm more of a beer guy, I couldn't resist the allure of the wine. As one after the other wines improved, my wife and I decided to buy a bottle as a memento. We ended up getting the Rubicon, which we'll save for 25 years. We plan to return to get a more aged Rubicon so we can share this experience with our family. However, our host (the birthday girl) made a mistake and forgot to update the headcount. As a result, the bill was slightly higher than expected. If I were a member of the service staff, I would have politely informed them of the error and insisted on a refund. But the staff was incredibly accommodating and helped the host by removing the guests who couldn't make it. Their exceptional service made the experience even more memorable.
