15 Ross Ave, San AnselmoI am a very overprotective parent. I didn't let my son stay with a babysitter until he could talk, so if anything bad happened he could tell me. My son survived me and is happily living in Chicago. Enter - Cooper. My Papi-poo is my baby now and became one matted mess because I was too scared he might be mistreated at a groomer's to ever take him. Problem, I don't speak Dog. Then I found House of Dog. Lisa and her staff speak fluent Dog and my baby comes home happy and beautifully groomed. Did I mention that I insisted on staying for the entire first appointment? Well, I did, and I not only watched how my baby was treated, I watched how all of your babies were treated as well. They love every single dog they care for, even the one's that are difficult or don't like being groomed. Very patient, very experienced and I recommend them to anyone who cares about their pet.

190 Sir Francis Drake Blvd, San AnselmoI love this practice. My dog usually sees Dr. Sachs, but on a Monday she's not there. I called early morning as my dog was having issues in need of urgent care. Heather, the owner and practice manager got us seen that day. She even let me know if any cancellations occurred that morning, she'd get us seen sooner. My dog has a lot of anxiety at the practice and knowing his veterinarian, Dr. Robert Sahaghian, was fear free certified really eased MY anxiety. This was our first time meeting him and he was so wonderful and gentle with Boomer. I'm comforted knowing he has two doctors now. Dr. Sahaghian followed up with me quickly regarding his labs, and was thorough and patient with my questions. I honestly, couldn't recommend another family practice more. Thank you always, RVVH! ??❤️?

69 Center Blvd, San AnselmoWe narrowly missed a 45 minute wait here last week for my birthday dinner. No problems sitting at the bar - service was quick and wonderful. The sushi here is incredibly fresh and thoughtfully designed. I loved the super nova roll and the ocean roll, my partner liked the special roll. We were offered the typical (complimentary) wasabi and the fresh wasabi. My partner said the fresh is much better and worth ordering. We found the prices here to be reasonable especially considering the quality. We can't wait to go back!

Pizzalina - San Anselmo
914 Sir Francis Drake Blvd, San AnselmoReally good pizza, amazing risotto, awesome caesar salad and kick ass Brussels sprouts.
First I went for the pizza and was really happy with it. Then I saw they have risotto and tried it. Then I saw they make their own pasta. Been there a couple of times and didn't even order the pizza and was completely satisfied. Last time there I tried the ravioli of the month which was really good.
It's definitely our regular pizza place now.
Service is hit or miss. Never bad.
On cold days it does get cold inside at times. Not the warmest place to go for dinner. Last time it was actually freezing inside and I felt like the AC was on when I was in the 40s outside. After about a half hour the heat seemed to have kicked in and it warmed up. That was weird. If you get cold easily bring a jacket to wear inside.
Update after a few visits over a year or so:
Tonight was spot on with everything. The monthly pizza was the best we've had so far. I love how they change up the risotto. It's good each time. I usually get the caesarlina salad which is delicious but since it was a cold day, I tried the minestrone. It was fantastic. I finally remembered to take pics this time.
There are a couple of new really good spots in San Rafael now that do legit Neapolitan pizza. Pizzalina shines with their crisp NY style crust.

101 San Anselmo Ave, San AnselmoI had lunch here with a friend and it was such a nice break. Sitting on the sunny terrace at the picnic tables gave it a real vacation feel. The lunch options are fresh and farm-to-table inspired, simple but well done. The bread is excellent, so good that I brought one home. A relaxed spot with good food and an easy, pleasant atmosphere.
