“The only problem that I ever had with National Car Rental is that when you pick up the car they always make sure that the tank is full and the car is washed however they NEVER wash the window inside and when you are driving and the sun hits windshield it will blind you if they just would take the time to clean the inside of the windshield I could give them 5 star rating”

Pretty sure one of their service techs is sling blade and I want to give the white guy a clip for his hair so he can leave it alone but that's just people stuff. If you are looking to rent a car for any amount of time, this is the only place you need to go! We rent from this location often, and I can confidently say it is always top-shelf service from the moment we make a reservation until we return the vehicle.
This weekend, we rented a car for a surprise trip to Chicago to take my daughter to see her favorite artist for her first concert. Matt, who has handled our reservations from start to finish many times, was there to help us again. He is consistently the kindest, most welcoming person; there is something so professional, sweet, and genuinely amazing about the experience he provides every single time. Matt is truly a master of customer service. He was so enthusiastic about our trip—he even offered us a free upgrade to ensure we had an elevated experience for such a meaningful family event.
Unfortunately, our trip hit a major snag when road debris flew out from under a semi-truck and smashed our windshield. It was a terrifying experience for both my daughter and me. I called Matt immediately, explained what happened, and sent him photos of the damage. Even though we were hundreds of miles away, Matt handled the situation with such heart. He prioritized our safety above all else, calming us down with genuine concern, talking us through our options, and even offering to help us find a replacement car at a different location if we needed one.
We were shaken and panicking, but Matt’s compassion and care gave us so much ease. We ultimately decided to cut our trip short by a day and a half to get the situation handled. When we arrived back at the branch, Matt was there to greet us. He didn't even need to look at our reservation to know we were returning early, and he seemed genuinely sad that our vacation had been cut short. He remembered all the details about our trip and immediately checked on us to see if we had enjoyed the concert.
He processed everything quickly, efficiently, and with total kindness. He even followed up with the branch manager to ensure everything was taken care of, confirming that I would receive a reduction on my rental costs for the shortened trip and a full return of my deposit.
I don't know how else to rave about this place. We use this location often, and we will always come back—especially because of Matt. We are so very grateful to you and all you do! Thank you for being YOU, Matt!”

(I was one) I watch people come & go in their office. I have never witnessed a dissatisfied renter. For an office of men the restroom has been clean & generally the toilet seat is down. (This is shocking for females.) There is a U.C. student I agree with that the 2530 Reading Rd. Cincy O. 45202 is the better location to come to. Thank you.”

“I had an accident and had no rental coverage on my insurance policy. I had to have a car for work/life. I had a friend recommend BMC and I contacted Shawn in Newport. I was in an absolute panic. He said “don't worry we got you” immediately relieving my panic. He was willing to work with me on price to see what discounts he could give. The staff had a car ready and waiting for me the day I called.
I didn’t know how long my car would take to be fixed. I was told “it will be this Friday,” then I was told “next Friday” and so on by the company working on my car. I’d call Shawn and say I need it a little longer. He’d say “no problem.”

While on vacation my Highlands off trac engine light came on. So after dropping off my truck at their service shop I stopped in to rent a vehicle. I worried considering I’m from Middle Georgia and at 41 had never rented a car. The lady that took care of was very nice and patient while I was contacting my insurance company for an insurance card (we do not have to them in car in GA. I apologized for seeming frantic I was just so nervous about my car. She assured me I was fine. She then got me lined up with a 2024 Toyota Sienna, that I honestly didn’t want to give back.
I highly recommend you do any and all car rental from this location!!”

“I'm leaving this review because I saw all the one-star reviews AFTER I had reserved a 12-passenger van through Expedia, and I thought I had made a terrible mistake. I was so stressed and made phone calls and even showed up at the car rental counter the evening prior to when I needed the van just to confirm there actually was a van and it would be in good condition the next day. Good news--everyone I spoke with in person was very nice and competent. There was always an employee at the Avis counter (which owns Payless) and the line only had one person ahead of me both times. The Chevy van I was given was very nice, clean, no smell of cigarettes, and we had zero complaints about it! In fact, I would definitely recommend renting a 12-passenger van from Payless, as I saw two brand new-looking Ford vans in the lot as well. Docking a star only for the poor phone communication--the Payless number routed to Avis and the two employees I spoke with couldn't understand my concern, kept trying to offer pickup from a different location, and I eventually had to hang up on them.”
“Great upgrade! We reserved a minivan for six adults and luggage, but it wasn't available at pickup, so we were given a 2026 Chevy Tahoe instead. It was incredibly comfortable with plenty of legroom and USB ports for everyone. Although the final cost was higher than the base rate due to insurance and extra fees, it still averaged only $30 per person per day including gas. Sharing one spacious SUV was much cheaper and easier than driving two personal vehicles!”
