It was so quiet, which was great to allow me to do some work. I loved all the fun colors and decor. I was distracted by the items for purchase near the counter, and I was really excited to get rid of some books that have been taking up space in my car needing a home in a little free library.
I ordered a pumpkin chai, which was fantastic! Really hoping to come back if I am in this area again.

729 E 9 Mile Rd, FerndalePicture a small suite in a strip mall, in a city a mile north of Detroit. Well established, it's been here for ages. No reservations. A few modest tables and carry-out. A true example of "don't judge a book by its cover". We walk in, non peak, with eight folks and they have no issues with us. Quickly seated, orders taken, food delivered. Bam bam bam! The staff has always been great to us and now to our friends. The food is off-the-chain delicious. primarily Ukrainian fair, but you can find several other options and there's ALWAYS something for everyone. For the first five years I came here I ordered Christine's Famous Bomb Burrito. It's that good and I wasn't going to dive into the questionable stuff on the menu. Shame on me! Baba's Pierogis and their Potato Pancakes are wonderful but I recommend the Combo Platter so you can also experience the sausage and the sauerkraut (Kapusta). A quick chuckle: Mrs. E. only eats cold borscht. So we order it and it cools on the table and becomes our dessert. Most everyone I introduce to Christine's become regulars and it ain't because of me! 08/25

You can select all kinds of preferences to help provide you the right nutrition l wanted low sodium meals and that was an option - and the food is delicious, nutrient dense (meaning really healthy) and well proportioned.
These meals arrive fresh, well packaged and you get real time text notifications regarding delivery status. I love that it is a local company!

567 Livernois, FerndaleThis review is for the coffee window! It is INCREDIBLE that they changed their hours so they open at 8:30 AM. I am really hoping they continue to do so throughout the fall and winter. The staff members who work the window in the morning are so nice, generous with the dog treats and make a mean iced americano at a super reasonable price! I will keep coming here multiple times a week as long as they open early.

22812 Woodward Ave #100, FerndaleLove it! We originally planned to go to the Cajun place up the street which was closed on the Monday we came. It got us to try something different and excellent. The interior looks to be from the 50s and the places we are like an old shoe, very comfortable and a place that seems like it's been here forever. Pizza: excellent. What's not to like about Detroit style and they do it right here. Only thing I would suggest is to spread the sauce a little closer to the edges. I did that on my own and was very happy. I also had a white chicken chili which was outstanding and spicier than I expected but very good. Service was great, person checked on us at a comfortable level. We will definitely come back.

Ferndale Cat Shelter
686 Livernois St, FerndaleWent for the catfe experience, so I can’t comment on the adoption process.
The space is divided into 3 sections: the cafe, a central sitting room, and the room with the cats & toys. The cafe is relatively large, and they offered tea, coffee, and a small assortment of pastries. The central room smelled a bit, but it is near the kitty litter area and isn’t the room that visitors would stay in very long. The staff and volunteers were friendly and provided information about the cats’ temperaments (e.g., which cats were playful, which ones will scratch, the set of cats that were friendly but were perched up high to avoid interaction, etc.). Stayed for almost an hour to pet cats, play, and learn about their rescue process / the organization’s history.
