“So I've lived in Ypsi for about 5 years. I've passed by this shop COUNTLESS times over that timespan. Tuesday, I decided to give this shop a try after hearing many great reviews from coworkers. I'm glad I took their advice! Mike is great to deal with! He's super honest, up front, and looks out for customers' best interest. I felt like I was well taken care of and was not ripped off. They warranty ALL their work for 2 years and claim to use good quality parts. Honestly I'd rather pay more for parts if that means I'm not getting cheap parts that will only last me for a shorter period of time. I only had my rear brakes/rotors done but will definitely be back in 2-4 weeks to get my fronts done. Great job guys!!”
“I got 4 new tires ( for a super reasonable price). They made me feel very comfortable, and they were super helpful.
3 weeks later I had a slow leak in one of my tires that turned out to be a valve stem issue, that they replaced for free! Being new to the area finding a dependable and nice garage can be really hard, but these guys are really wonderful. Would definitely recommend to anyone!!”
“As someone who has always leased cars and done my own maintenance, I have never been established with mechanic before, and was dreading the task of finding one. I was looking around the area for a place to get brakes done and stopped in to 3 shops to speak with staff about options. Auto Ave made the most sense not only in price, but the employees were knowledgeable, friendly, clean shop. My brakes were replaced at a price I was happy with, and the was job done within a few hours time. Communication was good back and forth. Initial experience was that I was going around finding a shop that would install customer parts, which he did. I needed to replace my wheel bearing at the time as my car was roaring and he honestly replaced it within the same day. Threw in the o2 sensor for really cheap as well as topped up my wiper fluid and engine oil for free as well. Let me know to get my control arm replaced as soon as possible, which I should've done immediately, but didn't which led me to my second experience.
Second experience was when my ball joint completely snapped right out of my control arm. Called him to inquire about prices and honestly, really reasonably priced for a front end suspension refresh. Was willing to work with me reasonably and didn't take offense to me wanting to work on it myself to save costs. CV axle would not come out at all, but at that pont, the car was entirely torn down and no tow company wanted that sort of liability. I asked him if he knew anyone and he sent someone who took care of the car extremely well. Afterwards, whilst I was itching to get my car back, he was nothing but patient and timely with the entire repair in general.
If you're looking for a honest, timely, and friendly mechanic, I honestly couldn't recommend anyone else.”

We did timing Belt, Water Pump, Water Seals, Oil Seals, All new water Hoses, Thermostat, Crank sensor, Plugs, Fresh Oil and Filter, New Coolant, and an all-wheel Alignment. 1.5 years later everything still perfect. Issues or Modes only place to go !”

“I own an old Toyota Camry with over 300,000 miles on it, and it’s still running strong. I have a deep emotional connection to this car—it was the very first car I drove after arriving in the U.S., and I simply can’t bring myself to sell, trade, or replace it. Although I own two newer cars, I still prefer driving my Camry for my daily commutes.
Recently, while driving, I heard a strange noise coming from underneath the car. After checking, I discovered that the exhaust flex pipe had broken and was dragging on the ground. The car became extremely loud, and I had to have it towed home.
After doing some research online, I found that replacing the exhaust pipe could be quite expensive—especially considering the car’s age and limited value. I contacted several local muffler shops, and most quoted me prices over $500.
One day, while driving down Ecorse Road, I stopped by a small shop and met Emad. I expected to hear the same high estimates I’d received elsewhere, but Emad was very honest and straightforward. He told me that it wouldn’t make sense to spend too much on an older vehicle, but since I clearly loved the car, he would do his best to help and offered me a price that was nearly half of what others had quoted.
Emad asked for a couple of hours to complete the repair and even lent me his personal car to use in the meantime—a gesture I deeply appreciated. When I returned, I was amazed. Not only had he expertly welded and fixed the flex pipe, but the car’s noise was completely gone. He even went the extra mile and cleaned my headlights, making them shine like new.
Now, my Camry drives smoothly and quietly once again. Emad’s shop may not be the most glamorous or high-end, but he has a genuine heart, strong work ethic, and honesty that’s hard to find these days. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending his shop to others.”

I regularly go for service thanks to their thorough multi-point inspection, and on top of checking literally ANY concern big or small the crew is on top of important alerts such as recalls. During a mundane oil change they made sure to mention the anti-theft device I qualified for and installed it with my consent same day :)
Overall: a communicative staff, quality reminders/summaries to know exactly what you need or don’t, and good affordability across the board.
