Pet Supplies Plus Durham
3443 Hillsborough Rd #110, DurhamI had an excellent experience at Pet Supplies Plus! The staff were incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely cared about helping me find the best products for my pet. They took the time to answer my questions and made great recommendations without being pushy.
The store was clean, well-organized, and fully stocked with everything I needed—from quality food to toys and grooming supplies. I also really appreciated how easy and quick the checkout process was.
It’s clear this location takes pride in customer service and pet care. I’ll definitely be coming back and highly recommend it to any pet owner in the Durham area! 🐾

Beth's Barks N Bubbles
2710 Chapel Hill Rd, DurhamBrought in my senior dog for a simple wash and trim. Older dogs need extra patience, and thankfully the staff understood that. They took a little longer than expected, but I’d rather have that than rushed handling. He came home comfortable, clean, and surprisingly energetic afterward.

Quality Pet Grooming
1424 Broad St, DurhamMy beagle came back looking cleaner than I’ve ever seen him. They managed to remove that stubborn smell from his coat without irritating his skin. I also appreciated that they asked questions about allergies before starting. Small detail, but it showed they actually care about the pets, not just speed.

GoDog Durham
4350 Garrett Rd, DurhamWe usually go to the RTP location, but there is construction going on right now right next to it and my dog wasn't tolerating the construction sounds well. We were warmly welcomed by the staff at this Go Dog and even though my girl was tentative at first she quickly warmed up to the staff! They take such good care of the dogs and really pay attention to their needs. My dog gets so excited as soon as she sees the Go Dog building and can't wait to get out of the car and go inside!

Livy’s Lavish Self Wash & Grooming
105 W North Carolina 54 Ste 255, DurhamWe had the best experience at Livy’s Lavish Selfwash & Grooming in Durham, NC! Whitley, aka Livy, the owner, was so friendly, welcoming, and helpful from the moment we walked in with our crew of three doodles, Gracie, Ellie, and Winnie, plus two very energetic grandchildren.
We chose the self-wash option because I had extra hands with me, and it was such a great setup. Livy’s provides everything you need, including shampoo, conditioner, towels, dryers, and a clean, easy space to bathe your dogs without making a mess at home. The best part is that they clean everything up afterward.
Whitley went above and beyond by trimming all three doodles’ nails and even giving the kids a sweet little lesson on proper hair drying. It made the whole experience fun, easy, and memorable.
I highly recommend Livy’s Lavish Selfwash & Grooming for anyone looking for dog grooming in Durham, NC, whether you want a self-wash dog bath, full-service grooming, bath and brush, or a “We Wash” service. It’s locally owned, welcoming, convenient to Southpoint and I-40, and perfect for doodle owners or anyone who wants their pets clean, happy, and well cared

Parkwood Animal Hospital
5107 NC-55 Suite 101, DurhamThe primary reason I chose Parkwood for my pet was based off the excellent reviews long term and even new patients left for this establishment. We’ve been going to Parkwood now I would say for over a year and we have received nothing but the best care for my pup. Times where my dog has worried me, we’ve called and they don’t just automatically say “bring her in” they make honest recommendations before they just take your money like other vets. They are also reasonably priced and they really value their patients. Thank you to all of the staff at Parkwood for the amazing care you give!

Urban Tails Veterinary Hospital
800 Taylor St Ste 9-155, DurhamThey were very patient and understanding with my nephew's cat. She was a farm cat he inherited which had not been to the vet in years. She's a bit temperamental and not used to being handled. The tech and doctor got down on the floor and met the cat where she was comfortable. They gave us advice and medication for future visits. They did not shame us at all for the cat's condition as they know we are doing what we can to get her healthy. She was actually quite comfortable after a few mins. I also brought my dog in and she made new best friends, the treats helped. lol. Caring, and genuine vibe. They explained everything clearly and gave options about care that worked within our budget.

Willow Oak Veterinary Hospital - Mark Cagle DVM
1012 Broad St, DurhamThe care we receive here from Dr. Smith is top notch. Our dog is a difficult patient with a complicated medical history, and she is always so patient with him. We recently went through a big health scare with him, and she was wonderful every step of the way. I felt like she was genuinely feeling all of the emotions we were feeling as we made decisions for him, and she was able to get him in at NC State for surgery. She has been a partner in his care and shown true interest in his wellbeing. We continue to travel almost an hour to come to Dr. Smith even after having moved out of Durham because of the level of care our little guy receives.

5016 Durham-Chapel Hill Blvd, DurhamCannot say enough about the good folks at New Hope Animal Hospital. We have been coming here for years after a less-than-ideal experience at another local vet, and the people here have never let us down.
We see Dr. Soren, mainly, but have seen others in the past, and couldn't ask for a better clinical team. From the doctors and nurses to the front desk, it is clear the people here love what they do. I have recommended this place to all of my friends and family.

Camp Bow Wow North Durham
4310 Bennett Memorial Rd, DurhamOur dog loves going to Camp Bow Wow North Durham. She gets very excited and squeals with joy when she sees the staff! All the staff are wonderful - very caring, attentive, conscientious, and patient. They take great care of our dog when she is there for daycare and boarding. Our dog can get stressed when we are away, but the one-on-one attention she gets during cuddle time with the staff helps her stay calm and enjoy her boarding stays. Compared to other boarding options, the prices are very reasonable. Camp Bow Wow does not nickel-and-dime you; for example, medication administration is included in the price of boarding, not an add-on charge as I have seen elsewhere. The groomers do a nice job with baths. Camp Bow Wow offers a lot of different enrichment options to keep your pup mentally stimulated. They do super cute photo shoots with different themes that help raise money for the local animal shelter. Overall I strongly recommend Camp Bow Wow - we will not take our dog anywhere else.

The Pet Wagon Hotel
3215 Old Chapel Hill Rd, DurhamI cannot sing the praises of this place enough. I have a severely dog-reactive (senior) dog who has been unable to participate in daycare, or even play dates, without extremely close supervision for about two years now. The Pet Wagon crew was able to get her into a play group with other dogs safely. They were extremely proactive in wanting to help her and allowing her to be like any other dog while staying with them. They also send photos and updates, which is important to me. And the price is beyond fair, IMO.
I unfortunately need to board my dogs somewhat often because of my line of work, but bringing them here gives me such peace of mind, it is no longer a problem or anxiety-inducing for me. I have used (not exaggerating) over 15 boarding/daycare facilities, across several US states through the years, and The Pet Wagon is in my top three favorites, and I cannot stress enough how great they have been with our dogs.
TL;DR: Absolutely amazing place, ten stars, no notes.

Dickinson Animal Services
101 E Delafield Ave, DurhamElise is absolutely fantastic. She comes to feed and stay hello to our two kitties every time we go away and makes sure our chickens are out in the morning and tucked and secured in the coops at night. We never have to worry when we go away. She always shares pictures each day she stops in and even gets good shots of our very shy cat! He never does that for anyone but obviously feels comfortable with her. She’s absolutely lovely and it’s so nice to be able to pick up for a few days away and not have to worry about the feather and fur babies.

Isaac's Bagels
1003 W Chapel Hill St, DurhamWhen I close my eyes, I can still remember the crunch of the outside of the bagel followed by a near-perfect dough consistency. The bagels may be some of the best in the triangle. Their cream cheese is unique and complements their bagels well. Not to mention a good serving size. The egg and cheese on a bagel would be close to an omelette in a bagel. The sausage could be a little bit bigger for the bagel, but I am not going to complain. It’s a small shop, but the staff is super friendly, and there is street parking right outside. There is no seating inside, but honestly, it’s better to consume the bagel at home or in the car so you don’t have to care about the mess you may make. Keep making great bagels. Can’t wait for the next visit.
