Paradise Coral
1982 NE 25th Ave Ste 4, HillsboroI have been working with Bret from the very start of my Saltwater adventure and he has been incredibly helpful throughout the whole process! He has quite the selection of items and is constantly getting in new stock. I have never had a sick fish from his store or any problems with my corals. This week I was lucky enough to snag a rock covered with a selection of corals and some live rock to build up the tank some more. I would highly recommend this fish store to anyone looking for a friendly, honest, and clean fish store.

Puppernickel
244 E Main St, HillsboroGreat local shop. They have fresh pupcakes and tons of clothing. 99% of their items are small business or locally sourced so expect to pay a little more but everything is quality and is worth the price. If you don't want to go to hillsboro catch their pupcakes at the beaverton farmers market on Saturdays

Pet Care

All About Cats Cat Clinic

Companion Animal Hospital
110 NE 25th Ave, HillsboroCompanion in Hillsboro is one of the few (maybe only) walk-in clinics in the area which worked for me being in the area for family visiting. The staff was incredibly friendly from the person who answered the phone to the techs who helped me check out at the end. Dr. Crepeau who examined our pup was very friendly, reassuring, and incredibly knowledgeable. Although the diagnosis wasn’t great news, I felt so much better knowing that Winston received excellent care and we received medications at affordable prices. We could have ended up at any animal clinic, but we really lucked out walking into Companion. Winston is doing a lot better and we were also given information on what signs to look for if we need to bring him in again which was also reassuring to know.

Cornell Road Veterinary Clinic
1803 NE Cornell Rd, HillsboroI love all the vets here! They treat all my animals like they would their own and are very understanding of financial restrictions.

Frontier Veterinary Hospital: Hardesty Liz DVM
Parking lot, 4500 NE Cornell Rd, HillsboroDecided to leave the vet factory that is B******d. Brought our boy in for allergies. Turned out it was his food. Skin spray & oral medicine (cytopoint didn't work for him). Amazing care & concern. And these treatments worked! My boy just loves Dr Beedle! A few months later we brought our girl in for an abnormal growth on her abdomen. Dr Rejba was companionate for my concern of cancer. A sample was sent out for testing. If you're concerned about pricing over treatment when it comes to taking care of your sick pet, then you don't deserve a pet! Any kind of healthcare & treatment cost! And it may be $30 more than the factory down the street, but to find staff as caring and attentive as this veterinary office, it's worth every penny! From front office to back, A-MAZ-ING!!

Paws Rehab
1800 NE 25th Ave Ste 17, HillsboroWe had our first visit at Paws and my puppy, Scout is always excited to go to new places. He was interested and a little nervous once we headed for the underwater treadmill but Diane took it slow and talked to Scout taking their time for the treatment. Scout did fine and seemed to be ok during his very first visit. Diane was with him the whole time. We are excited to see how this helps Scouts pain and hoping he is as excited as we are about going back.

Frontier Veterinary Hospital
4500 NE Cornell Rd, HillsboroEvery time we go here we end up getting stuck in a room and nobody checks in. We were on time for our appointment and after 35 minutes of waiting we decided to leave as this vet clinic does not take our time seriously.
For a clinic who is one of the most expensive we have been to, I would expect your operations to be a lot better than what they are.
UPDATE: We have gone back since and on our last visit they got to us very quickly and I could tell they meant business. We really appreciated how quickly everything went.

Hillsboro Veterinary Clinic
142 SW Baseline St, HillsboroWe have only visited once so far but I am so happy with the clinic and Dr. Ranallo. My Phoebe is a little bit shy but Dr. Ranallo won her over in no time. I had an overall feeling that she loved seeing Phoebe and that she will care for her. Communication on cost as the appointment progressed was very clear and everything was explained to me along the way. So happy we tried it out here.

In Home Dog Training
2865 SE Camwal Dr, HillsboroRD gave me the tools for a healthy, happy, and safe dog! My sweet dog, Herman, was almost a year old before we found RD. He'd had me training him the basics, just not consistently, but my goal is to travel full time - I needed a better communication method for us.
RD taught us how to talk to each other. After a few short sessions, he and I are off to the races!
It's been a couple months since we've seen RD and I'll tell you that Herman is more confident, we have a great bond, he's wonderful off leash, and the big test of having his cousin, the cat, come visit went amazingly well!!! He's already a happier, safer version of himself.
Thank you, RD!!!

Schroeder's Den
2110 NE Aloclek Dr, HillsboroWe began bringing our dogs here at the recommendation of our trainer, to help with excess energy and socialization. It's been several months of our one dog attending three days a week and the results are great!Meadow and her staff work on appropriate behavior throughout the day and the mental and physical stimulation is clearly benefiting our crazy girl. I love that we can also see what she's up to during the day by following their social media, where they post numerous photos and videos during the day. We've been so happy with the results so far, we began bringing our other dog on alternate days!If you're looking for a place for your four legged friend to learn some manners and appropriate behavior with other dogs, or to just give them more mental /physical stimulation and socialization, look no further..... This place has it all (for very reasonable rates to boot).

Helvetia Vineyards & Winery
23269 NW Yungen Rd, HillsboroWe had a charming visit at Helvetia. The wine was delicious, the setting was relaxing and beautiful, the staff very friendly. It was down to earth and unpretentious, unlike many tastings. The resident puppy was a major bonus. I would go again if I'm ever in the area again.

Six Peaks Winery
19495 SW Vista Hill Dr, HillsboroLoved this hidden gem! Stunning views, relaxed cozy family vibe and delicious wine. Would 10/10 recommend!
The wine tasting came with one sparkling, 2 whites and 2 reds and a snack plate with fresh fruits, cheese, crackers and nuts. Tasting was 25$ per head. The owners and staff were very friendly and the 5 doggos on the property were equally welcoming. The spot is kid friendly and pet friendly. The grand opening with a bigger porch is planned for sometime next year but even the current smaller setup is so beautiful.

Mr. Bento Burger
7180 NE Cornell Rd, HillsboroMr. Bento Burger was such a great find on a whim! I'm staying in a hotel nearby and decided to walk around to find dinner, and I'm so glad I ended up here. I ordered the Angry Cow Burger (I love kimchi) and my boyfriend had the Walla Walla Burger--both were delicious and full of flavor. Each burger came with three potstickers and a side salad with a tasty dressing, which was such a fun and unexpected combo. We really enjoyed our choices and left totally satisfied. I would definitely recommend this spot!

Blizzard Wines & Vineyard
29495 SW Burkhalter Rd, HillsboroI had a lovely wine-tasting here for my bday, which Michelle (our server) and Ginger (fluffy friend) helped make this a special and unique experience! I loved the additional champagne tasting in addition to their wine tasting. The education provided by the server and the written information were very insightful. I loved the French influence and creation of the wines, and I tried red cuvée for the first time, which was lovely! I was a big fan of their spin on malbec.

30088 SW Egger Rd, HillsboroI came across their wines at the wine shop near our house in Yachats. I was visiting a friend in Portland and we happened to drive by a sign saying the vineyard was a few miles away, so we stopped by and had a tasting flight. The staff was super friendly, as was Steve, the owner. We bought some amazing wine and just really enjoyed our afternoon.

Wxyz Bar
1705 NW Amberglen Ct, HillsboroService was fast, server was very friendly, my husband and I both had a Moscow Mule which was tasty, and a hummus plate which was just your typical hummus plate. Dog friendly, so it was nice to be able to be in the lounge area by the fireplace with our doggos and relax with a drink. It has a business/laid back vibe to it, but low key, which might be just perfect for business travelers. My husband and I live in the area, so we wanted to go check this place out. Amberglen Park right across the street which is a perfect place to go for a walk, or even with your dogs ❤️ We would go back again.

Oregon Friends of Shelter Animals
1853 NE Cornell Rd Ste C, HillsboroOregon Friends of Shelter Animals started helping us out a few months ago. First by donating prescription food we needed for a cat. They now help our rescue with spays & neuters at a more than affordable price. We are so grateful. Some of these dogs were waiting six months for surgery because anywhere affordable is booked out to the max. The only way they are able to do these surgeries is with willing volunteers. Thank you all VERY much!! Your work is amazing & we love you ❤️?

Cornell Creek Dog Park
1749 NE Century Blvd #1651, HillsboroNice, big fenced space to run and sniff. Usually pretty quiet/empty. Very clean. Double-gated entry.
It's a unique park because there is no dirt, grass, or mud. Only river rocks. Good for staying clean in the rain.
There are a couple small benches, some big logs to jump on and multiple trash cans/poo bag dispensers.
The fence isn't especially tall but it has been sufficient for my two 70lb doggies.
We enjoy the park over all, but there is little to no shade, aside from a few tiny trees, which is rough in summer. Also no water spigot that I'm aware of.
