“I had a very good experience buying my first kayak at Rutabaga recently. I started off with a phone call with Brandon, a staff member, about what type of kayak would meet my needs. After scheduling an appointment, I made the 2-hour drive from Chicago to try out 3 kayaks that he had set aside for me. In addition to seeing them in the showroom, I was able to try them out in the pond in back of the shop. After I made my selection, we moved on to the pros and cons of various roof racks. About 4 hours after I arrived, I drove off with my new kayak, strapped to a newly installed roof rack. Brandon was not only a helpful salesperson, but also a good teacher. He willingly answered all of my many questions, and I learned a lot about kayaks and kayaking from him during the experience. I would definitely recommend Rutabaga to anyone interested in purchasing their own kayak.”

“Steve and the staff at Steve's Curling Supplies are really helpful and really nice to talk to. They helped me find the gear I need as I march towards my Olympic curling deput (a.k.a. league night at the local curling center). I also like the handwritten note with my package, that's a nice touch here in the end times;) Good curling Steve!”

“My daughter has been wanting a skateboard, I said we would look, great shop, but what is even better are the people! Have to give a shout out to Ryan! Great guy, he went through the used skate boards, and built up a board (a first board) for her, she was so excited! This is a great shop, they make you feel like you have been there a million times! And they gave us a great restaurant suggestion for lunch! (Us not knowing the area) Knowledgeable, excellent people, and nice atmosphere! If you are in the market, go to this shop!”

“Amazing service. I've abandoned Fleet Feet for this place and I will never look back. Knowledgeable. Friendly. Prices are reasonable especially for the quality. I walked in last week. Pointed at my current (worn) Hokas and they came back with a pairs in an off size I needed and all was great!”

“Glide is the best disc golf shop around! The owner, Mike, is an amazing advocate for the sport. He goes above and beyond! From running tournaments, supporting local businesses, and general advice, Mike does it all. He really listens and wants patrons to enjoy disc golf, as much as himself. He remembers his customers, by name, what they throw, and what they are looking for. There have been many times he has reached out to let me know about products he knows I'm interested in are available. I am happy to support this local shop and will continue to for many years to come! Make sure to say hi to Dan, the shop dog, he needs all the pets!”

“Great customer service! I bought ski boots for the first time and they were extremely helpful walking me through what I needed and what to look for with used gear wherever I purchase it from. They also offered me a discount on some new gear and their store credit for gear you turn in is very fair. I will shop here again!”

“We came in and were attended by Yahaira. She was very patient and very helpful. My cleats caused some pretty big blisters on the backs of my heels, and we came in wondering if we could get them refunded since I had only worn them for 3 days. Yahaira took the time to talk to the manager and even call the owner of the store to help us out. After we got the news that we could get an exchange she helped me find a new pair and even helped get a custom insole. Not only her but the rest of the staff were very kind. They also offered advice on how to treat my blisters, what I could do to help prevent them, etc. Overall it was a very good experience, the best I’ve had there. This being thanks to the staff.”

“Great small business to buy from, even online! They carried a specific backpack color that I couldn’t find anywhere else and made the return process easy when I realized it wasn’t a good fit. Would definitely order from them again in the future.”

“Just did the pool portion of my open water certification, and it was wonderful. Kim, my instructor, was incredibly helpful, and you could tell she knows what she's doing. When water got up my nose at the bottom and I panicked, she followed me up to surface, ensuring I was breathing and was fully inflated once I got there. The shop itself is great, a lot of options and the staff are very friendly.”

“This store is clean and has a good selection, but some uw merchandise is only sold at their location on State St. It is much smaller in size so, it does have a smaller selection but they still sell many different types of high-quality uw apparel for all ages, art supplies, and gifts. The bookstore staff are helpful and patient.”

“Came here to find all the merch in the world. Like a previous reviewer, I also spent all the moneys in the here and I think I single-handedly kept this spot in business when I went. First of all, the selection of Badgers clothing was boundless and loved that for me because I was there to get just that. but alas did not lol. I got a Packers shirt for myself, a Badgers shot glass and whiskey glass, and a Bucks shirt (as a gift). I legitimately walked through that store 3 separate times because I just needed everything. Honestly wish I'd gotten more things but we had other places to go. Next time.”

“We make a stop at Bucky's Locker Room every time we visit Madison. I assume most locals know this but you can actually go out into the stadium about 15-20 feet near the field. It's gated but my kiddo loves being able to see "Bucky's House!" Cool tip for out of towners. Prices are expensive, nothing like a $30 shirt and $75 jacket but what do you expect. Maybe not the best place to buy economical fan gear but they do have a nice, quality selection! The clearance rack has served me well! Very clean spot to shop around or see the field. Customer service is always friendly. No doubt we will come back as we can!”

“We went for the purchase of a treadmill. The website was accurate as to how many were in stock. However, there were no actual tags to bring to the counter for purchase. The clerk was quick to figure it out despite that. Otherwise great experience.”

“It's THE place for a hat. And they have jerseys now! The embroidery is sick and not even that expensive. I love this place. Been shopping here since the late 90's.”

“I really love to overpay for underwear - though it is a nice product and feels pretty comfortable. I’ll spare the pictures for this review. I’ll probably try some other clothes options at some point but my needs have been met with the boxer briefs for now.”
