I warmed them up in an air fryer. The next time I went there I got empanadas for my lunch. Delicious again. The young woman that waited on me was very friendly and helpful. I will try the coffee next time. I highly recommend this little coffee (and more) shop. Good products, good service, good location . Very local very Cardiff!! Love it.

The Shanty is legendary.
This is not your trendy club or some fancy place to sip wine. It’s a classic, dark, fun, friendly, and welcoming neighborhood bar with real character.
Located right along the Highway 101 beach corridor, it has that authentic coastal neighborhood vibe that’s getting harder and harder to find.
They support local food trucks positioned outside, which adds to the experience. Inside you get that cozy, dimly lit bar atmosphere, while the outdoor section is perfect for groups, amazing sunsets, and that classic 101 beach feel. It’s also very dog-friendly, which adds to the relaxed neighborhood environment.
I got there early to grab a good seat at the bar. Kevin was outside getting things ready for the weekend rush, noticed me waiting right away, and came over to let me know I could wait inside while they finished preparing. That small gesture immediately set the tone.
The camaraderie between the staff was amazing. They were fun, friendly, and worked together like a well-oiled family machine. I felt like a regular from minute one.
And I can’t forget the true heroes behind the bar — Troy, BJ, and Shane. Great bartenders who know how to keep the drinks ice cold, the energy up, and the whole room feeling like one big neighborhood gathering.
The drinks were cold, the patrons were friendly and engaging, and the whole experience felt like discovering a true gem.
It’s absolutely worth the drive, and you’ll be hard-pressed to find another place quite like it along the 101.
I’ll definitely be returning regularly.

2005 San Elijo Ave, CardiffI was so excited to experience this place because so many people recommended it. The food was great, the ambiance was nice, the service was terrible. The hostess was not welcoming at all to the 4 of us and I had to flag someone down after waiting 25 minutes for service. We got there right when it opened with a reservation. The waiter didn't even apologize for not coming sooner. We had ordered another round of wine and again we had to flag him down. He completely forgot and it came out when we were almost finished with our meals. So disappointed.
