This time we went for BOTH the great holistic food as well as used their Doggie Self Wash. Quiet, clean, not crowded. Safe, fully enclosed space for anxious pets. (With no visual or interaction with other pets!)
Bring an extra collar to get wet, extra towels, backup (or additional/specialized) shampoo & conditioner.
They do have dryer available in every room, but the noise always scares most of my pack so we never use it)
Arrive - MINIMALLY- a full hour before they close so you won't be rushed. (Call ahead for correct bath hours: info on internet is not accurate.)
Parking is easy. Quiet, safe neighborhood. Sufficient landscaping for tinkling/pottying pre-and-post bathing.
(Inside tips: 1) ramp is available by request if needed. 2) The warm water is on the LEFT with the TINY red band as an indicator.)

I also made a mistake of messing up the times and I came 30 minutes early and she still took my doggy right in. My doggy also causes a ruckus when it comes to getting her nails done and just a bath in general and they are good at what they do and got the job done. When I first called to inquire I spoke with the owner Anna Lisa. She was a gem. Since I had been going to the same groomer for several years she inquired what they charged. She seemed genuinely interested in making things right. Our furbaby was treated like their own and 5 minutes later we were on our way.

I used to take him to PETSMART and PETCO, and he would always be so scared when I would pick him up and they would barely do everything I would pay for. Once I started taking him here he walks right in and is happy to come back. She makes him look so handsome and clean, and is so gentle and kind with him. Even cleaned his back molars :'). 2349 Fletcher Pkwy, El CajonJust picked up our 3 girls from Suds and Paws. I am not exaggerating when I say how much our girls enjoy going here, especially our old oldest, Ivory Snow.. As soon as we exit the freeway, she knows where we are going. Her little siblings enjoy going as well and have such a good time. It’s like a play date and a spa date all at the same time. I want to think Nancy Hilda and the gentleman who was doing the Dog bathing as well as Julie for running a great place I could not be happier or trust them more. I am grateful for how much they love on our babies and how kind they are with every visit. We have been going here for years and they have never done anything except treat our babies with love, thank you so much Merry Christmas and God bless you.

So we switched to singing hills and are so happy we did. We have 5 pets and live in the country so there is always a pet who is having a problem. Singing hills has always been there for us. They get us in right away. We’ve never heard “sorry we just can’t see them” they always have got us in. And they are reasonable. They talk through all options with us and don’t force high priced treatments on us. We are so happy we switched! Highly recommend!

522 E Chase Ave, El CajonI recently brought my cat, James, to this veterinary hospital for a heart scan after he was diagnosed with a grade 3 heart murmur. At the very beginning, there was a small hiccup with scheduling — I was told I would receive a call back, and after a few days I hadn’t heard anything. I ended up reaching out via email, and once I did, everything completely turned around.
From that point on, the care and communication were exceptional. The team was extremely apologetic about the delay and truly went above and beyond to make sure I felt supported and informed every step of the way. They followed up before and after the appointment, answered all of my questions thoroughly, and made sure I felt comfortable throughout the entire process.
I especially want to give a huge shout-out to Justine, who took incredible care of me and James. She went above and beyond to ensure we had a positive experience and genuinely made up for that initial misstep. Her kindness, professionalism, and attention to detail made a stressful situation so much easier.
I’m very grateful for the care James received and truly appreciate how much effort the team put into making things right. Thank you for taking such great care of my boy.

560 N Johnson Ave, El CajonMy golden retriever had a large skin tag on his elbow that was starting to get irritated and change color. I went to my main vet Feathers and Fur in La Mesa and they wanted to charge me over 3,000 dollars for removal. Instead I went to El Cajon Valley vet hospital and they removed the skin tag and stitched it up in under an hour total. For 265 dollars. Yes I said 265 dollars for visit and removal. Great atmosphere and even better service. 10/10 recommend. Now my pup is recovering, and my bank account isn’t empty lol.

Devotion to Dogs Expert Dog Training
440 Front St, El CajonI had started to lose faith that I’d be able to keep my German Shepherd mix, Walnut, due to her intense reactivity and territorial behavior. She was resource guarding, had poor recall, and was incredibly stubborn. I was overwhelmed and didn’t know what else to do.
Devotion to Dogs was recommended to me, and it was the best decision I’ve ever made for my girl. Walnut completed their two-week board and train program and came back a new dog, in the best way. No more lunging at strangers or other dogs. She plays nicely at the park and dog beach again, just like when she was younger before the reactivity set in. She can even relax in a coffee shop with me on a Sunday afternoon while I read, and I can trust her to stay calm and settled.
The training is just as much for the humans as it is for the dogs. I didn’t know how to set boundaries or communicate clear expectations before. The trainers worked with me 1:1 to make sure I knew exactly how to maintain everything Walnut learned once she came home.
Huge shoutout to Ben, Joshua, and Martina for their patience, consistency, and genuine care for every dog that walks through their doors. Walnut and I will be forever grateful. The weekly free socialization classes are such a gift and help us keep everything fresh.

412 Front St, El CajonWe absolutely love this day care. All the staff are great and always each to reach via phone if we have any questions. We take both of our huskies here and they are always so excited to go inside. Although the packages are expensive, they do save money at the end and are absolutely worth it. If you are looking for a good day care/ boarding, we highly recommend this facility. For boarding, we have had zero issues. Our dogs eat very specific raw food and the staff have followed all of our instructions and will even ensure to provide them their vitamins/supplements. We fully trust everyone at this facility to take care of our huskies and never feel stressed when we go on trips! I would say the only "con" is the pond they have that our huskies absolutely love and they are very stinky afterwards but at least I know they had a lot of fun! :)

She has vestibular old dog disease and it was a year since her last grooming. They spent a full extra hour getting all her extra hair removed. She has been shedding like crazy. The restaurant is located in a busy complex with lots of stores, which definitely explains the crowd! Shoutout to the employee, BRENDA, she was incredible and so kind! When we walked in, there were only about 3-4 people ahead of us. We ordered two sliders with fries (drinks are not included), and the total came out to just $16. It was super delicious, especially to share with a friend. When our food came out, the chicken was steaming hot. You can choose from a variety of flavors, I got the hot, and my friend got medium. I loved how big the chicken pieces were and how tender they tasted. I also recommend trying their milkshakes or any of their drinks. I didn't get one this time, but I know that if you leave a positive review, you can get one for free! I would absolutely recommend stopping by this location. The vibe was great, the space was big, and the staff were genuinely friendly.

We ordered the Chilaquiles special, the Prime Rib and Eggs special, and the Pork Chops and Eggs. Everything was cooked perfectly.
Our waitress, Isabella, was wonderful. She even left a beautiful, handwritten message on our receipt that warmed my heart and made me smile.
Janet's Cafe is a keeper and definitely on our favorites list.
3 weeks later update, back to Janet's cafe for another enjoyable breakfast. This time we ordered the Ham Steak and Eggs, Country Fried Steak and eggs, and another round of Grilled Pork Chops, with one of the largest Buttermilk Biscuits I've ever seen.
This morning we were seated on the right side of the restaurant, so sadly, we didn't have Isabella again, but still an overall great dining experience. ☺️

We found heart of gold shelter and visited them outside of tractor supply at an adoption event.At the event, our family met Jessica, and our new future pup. Throughout the process of introducing our dog to the puppies through shelter visits, and home visits, Jessica was very helpful and supportive.We appreciated the thorough process to ensure the new pup was a good fit for our family and vice versa.Our new adopted pup Leo (pictured on right) has been adjusting to his forever home amazingly well, and he has quickly become a part of our family.Working with heart of gold shelter was a fantastic experience, and I would not hesitate to recommend to friends and family.
