Puppy Party San Diego - National City
Suite #E17, 1430 E Plaza Blvd, National CityThere is nothing wrong with the dogs from here except for the price. All these dogs look spoiled, and I'm sure the people who adopt them spoil them too.

Pet-Friendly Restaurants

Nandri Indian Cafe
106 E 8th St, National CityIf there is one thing that defines the heart of Indian culture, it is the profound appreciation for family and you feel that the moment you walk into Nandri. It doesn't feel like a typical restaurant; it feels like walking into a home where hospitality is the main course.
The atmosphere here is magic. They have managed to create a space that respects the pace of a senior citizen while simultaneously embracing the boundless energy of children. It is a delicate balance, yet they navigate it with grace.
While the adults enjoyed the conversation, our kids were in heaven. The space is thoughtfully curated to turn a meal into an experience: they were captivated by the projector, challenged by the board games, and delighted by the little games scattered throughout. It allowed us, as parents, to actually sit back and enjoy our meal, knowing our children were happy and engaged.
The true soul of the restaurant is the Chef/Owner. It is rare to see an owner so personally invested in every table. Watching her move through the dining room was a lesson in true hospitality
She took such gentle, attentive care of the senior citizen in our group, ensuring my 76 year old dad was comfortable and well-fed. Simultaneously, she curated special dishes for the kids that were an absolute hit.
If you are looking for more than just a meal, if you are looking for a place that understands that a family dining together is a sacred thing,.This is your spot. We didn’t just leave with full stomachs. We left feeling like we had just spent the evening at a friend’s house.

J-Town Grab and Go
3142 E Plaza Blvd l, National CityI got the Box A sushi box! I got a Philadelphia roll, dragon roll, and seaweed salad. Paid a little extra to sub a soda for their Daily Matcha. Total was around $25. I am honestly so surprised at how good the sushi is! I've definitely paid much more for this quality, really amazing value for all the food you get. Fish is generous and has a very fresh taste to it! Matcha is very good, balances sweet and bitter perfectly, overall smooth and refreshing. Inside there is some seating and tables, this makes a great study location for National City. Staff was super sweet/polite and accommodating! I would say, as long as prices don't increase too much this is a fantastic place to get solid quality sushi.

Jomaru Hot Pot National City | 조마루 감자탕
2220 E Plaza Blvd D, National CityFirst time trying Korean hotpot and it was very good. We liked it so much we came back the next day and tried a different item from the menu but the pork bone soup is the best.
I guess the service varies, the night we were there everything went well (Riley is awesome) but the next day we came back for lunch with a different staff was kind of off and don’t feel like serving us. But overall still recommend to try it!

The Waterfront Grill @ Pier 32 Marina - San Diego
3201 Marina Way, National CityGood was excellent. Best call chowder I've had in a long time. Even the Ceaser salad was delicious. My wife and I added a grilled cheese sandwich to it order and it was great too. They make it work garlic butter and it added an incredible taste. The view was great too. I had the 1/2 sandwich and Craft Ceaser salad with a fountain drink. My wife had the clam chowder and the 1/2 sandwich and a side of fries too along with a pineapple mimosa. In all, it was just shy of $60.00. I recommend this place if you in it strong National City but check the time because they do close early.

Niederfrank's Ice Cream
726 A Ave, National CityThe ice cream is some of the best I've ever had. Growing up south of boston, I have gone to two dairy farms which made their own ice cream and it was amazing. This place is doing justice to ice cream by using natural ingredients with no dyes, preservatives or additives.

Ping Yang
41 E 8th St, National Cityi tried ping yang on my lunch break today. it’s in a cute and chill market space, seems great for an office lunch out or families. the thai family who run it are really sweet and they were happy to help me pick something to try. ive had a lot of great thai food before, and this place is amazing! i ordered their honey pork rice and LOVE it- it reminds me of other thai bbq pork dishes ive had but the flavor here is beautifully complex with a really perfect hint of black pepper. i also had the chicken teriyaki gyoza, and it is extra crunchy and fantastic. i’ll definitely be back to try their pork belly dish, it looks super good!
