Vintage Dog Ranch
22071 Bonness Rd, SonomaWe couldn't be happier with the system and staff at Vintage. Boarding our 5 mo old Labrador Retriever for 11 days gave her lots of new experiences and so many different dogs to play with while we were on vacation too. It gave us peace of mind to relax while we were away.
She came home with improved obedience, content, tired out, and even more lovie than before! The communication was great and the experience far exceeded our expectations! We love Vintage Ranch and will bring her back for playdates & overnights in the future! Can't thank the staff enough for making the whole experience smooth and great!! Highly recommend!!

Pet Care

Sonoma Veterinary Clinic
21003 Broadway, SonomaDr. Rosner and Dr Newman are not only wonderful veterinarians they are caring and personable. Not like some other places that make you feel like a number not an individual. The people here take their time getting to know your pets, you and your concerns. Shari is a gem among them never making you feel like a bother. always a kind word, asks how your pets are, listens then responds in her comforting way. This is a special clinic still practicing with passion!

Valley of the Moon Vet Hospital
975 Boyes Blvd, SonomaI have used VOM for many years. The care and level of service they provide is exceptional. All of the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. They consistently keep us up to date with reminders for when our pets are due for anything. All of the procedures they have provided for our 3 pets over the years has always started with upfront pricing estimates and I have found their costs to be more than reasonable compared to others. They make sure to keep us informed with detailed lab results when needed and the Dr always reaches out to ask if we have any questions about anything. I highly recommend taking your furry loved ones here. They take great care of their furry patients and they have outstanding communication skills with their human clients as well.

El Molino Central
11 Central Ave, SonomaOkay, I know this is a Michelin noted restaurant, but I don't get it. I would rate my meal (chicken enchiladas with verde sauce) as 3 stars, but my husband would give his meal (chicken enchiladas in mole sauce) 5 stars. So, I'm meeting in the middle with 4 stars. First off, parking is virtually impossible here as the tiny lot in the back by the picnic tables can only hold about 6 cars. Maybe people who come here frequently know where to park, but it is not obvious to a tourist. My meal was okay. The black beans were so hot that I burned my tongue, while the chicken enchiladas (on the same plate) were a bit cool. I was warned that the plate was hot, but after taking two mouthfuls of the lukewarm enchiladas, I had no reason to believe the beans would burn my tongue. My husband was happy all around with his entree and said the mole sauce was the best he had ever had. Maybe the food is better at dinner? We were there for lunch.

Winery Sixteen 600 Tasting House
589 1st St W, SonomaWe had such a fantastic experience tasting at Winery Sixteen 600. We had a reservation but walked in hours earlier given the weather and they were happy to accommodate us. It was personable, engaging, relaxed, and we enjoyed every single thing we tried. We appreciated Brian’s willingness to spend time talking about all things wine and life with us and not feeling rushed at all. We really enjoyed the custom tasting journey we got to go on and we left with more wine to enjoy back home. Highly recommend!

The Epicurean Connection, Sheana Davis & Ben Sessions
19670 8th St E, SonomaA great add on activity in between wine tastings!
We booked this cheese making class and it didn’t disappoint. Everything was laid out and planned. They served wine and non-alcoholic drinks. The facility is clean and nice. Has a bathroom for guests. Ben was excellent at explaining and providing instructions without being overbearing or too vague. He was great with the teen we had with us. We made butter and cheese and couldn’t stop eating it. So watch out for spoiling your appetite before a lunch or dinner booking. I would recommend doing this early into your trip since you get to take the butter and cheese with you. Makes for great snacking or breakfast material. You get to add flavors to the cheese and a huge table with all sorts of local and global spices is at your disposal. We enjoyed mixing and matching various flavors, all turned out yummy.
There is a free parking lot right in front. We were able to park there during the class. Highly recommend it - go learn something and eat it!

Everyone is welcome, and in these fraught times... who doesn't need a big heap of that?!?!Their name says it all - Cup of Love is truly a hug in a mug! They'll also happily brew up a cup of mushroom 'Joe' or add some to your beverage order. They serve food too so cone on by and support these Sonoma locals who are a huge asset to the community. Stop by, love on their rescue pooch, Lola, and have a chat. Service is always with a smile and the warm greeting will make your day. Remember - buy LOCAL and support LOCAL small businesses!

Roche Winery & Vineyards
22097A Bonness Rd, SonomaWe had an absolutely wonderful time at Roche Winery & Vineyard, particularly enjoying the wine and barrel tasting! Our host, Rodd, was truly outstanding—so friendly, informative, and engaging. He made our tasting experience feel incredibly special and truly one for our family to remember.
The wines themselves were delicious, and our group's favorites were the Longford Cabernet, the Chardonnay (American Oak), and the Merlot. All were great choices! We thoroughly enjoyed both the cozy outdoor atmosphere (complete with a lovely fireplace) and the fascinating indoor barrel tasting.
A major highlight was being able to walk the vineyard while sipping on our Merlot—the views were simply breathtaking! We highly recommend stopping by Roche Winery & Vineyard. Do yourself a favor and ask for Rodd; you won't be disappointed!

You can bring your dog if you sit outside.

Kivelstadt Cellars & WineGarden
22900 Broadway, SonomaKiv is a total find. The front looks a little rough when you pull up…then you step through and it opens into this unexpected backyard oasis. Big shade umbrellas, fire pits, quiet corners — the kind of spot you settle into for hours.
The wines are fantastic and very reasonably priced. Father’s Watch (pictured) might be one of the best blends anywhere — balanced, silky, and way better than its price point suggests. They’re also working with some rare and hard-to-find varietals, which makes each flight feel different than the usual Sonoma lineup.
The chicken and ricotta bites? Absolute knockout. One of those dishes you order “just to try” and immediately wish you’d doubled.
Service is relaxed but sharp, the atmosphere is great, and there’s a wonderful restaurant next door. Location is solid, but you could easily drive past the humble storefront — don’t.
A+ winery. Total gem.
