“This is a neighborhood gem! They have a variety of clothes, shoes, and toys/gifts for newborns to pre-teens. The staff are friendly, the items are well organized, and it is a fun shopping experience for adults and children. I have gone several times throughout the year for basics, outerwear, and formal clothes, and it never disappoints.”
“I got an AMAZING vintage modern granite table and Henry Miller chairs here that will be in my dining room forever. They were in perfect condition and so much better built and classier than all of the cheap new furniture out there. And the staff is incredibly helpful and worked with me for delivery!”
“I happened upon this treasure of a place while walking today . It's everything an antique should be: interesting and unusual merchandise, reasonable prices. an affable owner and Sophie , his charming dog .”
“Vintage Grind House is one of the best antique shops in Chicago. They have a wide array of beautiful furniture and art and they even offer upholstery services
I highly recommend Vintage Grindhouse and I can’t wait to see their new location!”
“I cannot sing praises high enough for this adorable hidden gem of a shop! The largest [and most well organized] supply of costume jewelry I've ever seen. The cutest and kitschiest [in the best way] purses and and handbags. A diverse and well-curated collection of vintage clothing pieces and accessories for all seasons and occasions - and very reasonably priced! One of a few places where you can find people shopping for prom, the Kentucky derby, renaissance fairs, theatre costumes, and bridal parties all at once. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful.
I'm from out of state, and find myself rearranging road trips just to make an excuse to come back. Even if you never buy anything, stopping in to just look and admire at your leisure is well worth it.”
“Rich's collectibles has a wide selection of many different collectibles and the owner is very friendly too. It's the perfect spot to find gifts for yourself or others at a great deal! Prices are very fair! Will be back again!”
“I’m always a little nervous when it comes to buying second hand luxury, but Mr. & Mrs. DIGZ made the entire experience effortless. Emilia was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, and patient! Thanks to her, I found the perfect YSL & Burberry bags that I absolutely love! I’m already excited to shop for my girls’ holiday items here too. Shopping should always be this easy! Highly recommend Mr. & Mrs. DIGZ for anyone looking for authentic luxury pieces with amazing service!”
“Great place to dump your trash toys . They may even give you a few bucks for them if you are lucky ? . Cool independently owned vintage store aka not so small businesses . So many amazing things and memories all in one place . Bigger then it looks from outside. Make sure to look everywhere .”
“I am over the moon happy with my new Grundig counsel. I had been admiring Harlequin Vintage through socials for a while and I reached out explaining what I was looking for. Dave responded he just so happened to have the exact piece I was looking for! The sound is amazing. I had used his white-glove delivery service and was extremely impressed! Reliving the sound of music I listened to growing up and remembering my parents dancing....priceless. Thank you, Dave!!!”
“Definitely a staple in the community, family operated, unique clothing, great staff. If you’re new to the neighborhood, it’s a great place to shop, they always have NEW cool items.”
“Super cute shop in Ravenswood/Lincoln Square. I’ve purchased a few items including a vintage refurbished desk and their super warm washable wool blankets.I’m giving it 4 stars because they’ve started selling more “new” furniture and less vintage or refurbished furniture - which isn’t my thing. The staff have always been super helpful and knowledgeable about all of their products, so if you have questions they will definitely have answers.Make sure to check out this local shop, I’m sure you’ll find something you enjoy.”
“This is such a neighborhood gem! Female owned and fantastic merchandise. They know my children and have outfitted them for years. Always warm and helpful when we come in. Love to shop at wonderful local, sustainable businesses like this one.”
“Awesome vintage shop with repair and alterations. Kate repaired my Grandmother’s dress from the 1950s so beautifully. I am so touched. The dress needed new buttons and clasps. Jeanie located some similar size and fabric buttons since I didn’t have a replacement. If you have a vintage piece and are wondering how to go about fixing or altering it, come here.”
“This organization is exceptional in its work within our community. I am very happy that they are here and serving not only our community’s needs but also serving in a more global way.”
“Shop with a beautiful selection of items for men and women. The staff are very friendly and the prices are very reasonable. You can find some real treasures here!”
“This store has the coolest collections — you can really tell that there is so much thought into its curation. The sellers are so cool and kindhearted; they’ve created a community space in this storefront. VF is my new favorite vintage store in Chicago”
“Rudy, the owner, super helpful guy. I called with questions about movie theater chairs and he graciously offered his time and expertise. If you want someone knowledge and honest, I highly recommend Lazy Dog Antique.”
“most beautiful vintage pieces! fair prices! I left empty handed only because the ones I loved were just a tiny bit too small. Super friendly staff! highly recommended!”
“Very unique experience. I was here for a community meet up. The place is clean and the owner is friendly. There is a story behind every pieces of artwork for you to explore!”
“I got an item from Kim on a shopping sight. I must say her customer service is A+, extremely accommodating and a pleasure. Fantastic items, fast shipping, as described. If you love antiques and vintage, this is your shop. Never underestimate the power of small business customer service. I wish you much success.”
“A fantastic thrift store that gives back to the local community. Quality items at great prices. One of my favorite places to thrift and they have a parking lot.”
“Awesomely beautifully wholesome and cozy. Abundantly charming! Come by! Hidden gem for a reason but also with a big heart. My daughter loves the magic wonders and lower level treasures and jewelry”
“I walked in there just looking around and was met with such a great experience. The staff was so welcoming, helpful and kind. The items were all organized and really gorgeous. Such a beautiful boutique!”
“Great selection of clothes & shoes in Lincoln Park. Store’s been there for years. Walked by & decided to go in. Found & bought a great “Free People” jacket, will come back again & again!!”
“Definitely a high end vintage boutique. Sadly, unless I missed some signage, items like dresses were organized by waist size and they maxed out at 29 inches (I have a 36 inch waist). If they had a larger section I missed it ?. The hard goods at the front were a nice addition to differentiate themselves from other local vintage shops though!”
“Neybir is without a doubt the best home store in Chicago.
If you need a custom dried floral arrangement, a thoughtful housewarming gift, or luxury kitchen/bar supplies, this is your shop.
Prices also range. Some items are investments or things you might save up for. Others are priced affordably and are competitive with Target or Crate and Barrel. Even if you just stop in to browse and see the gorgeous displays, it’s worth a trip.”
“A lovely neighborhood spot. The curation is fantastic, a true old school vintage store (hard to find these days!). Prices are very reasonable and the owner is always lovely. So glad to have in the area!”
“Temple Head Start was the start of both of my children’s education. Both have graduated a long time ago.My son is now 26, graduated from Western Illinois University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering with a GPA 3.6, and now is a Engineering Manager at Wahl’s Clipper Corporation. My son was born prematurely 3 months early. The staff was wonderful with him and he never missed a beat. The doctors said he would never thrive with his class but with the help of Temple Head Start we made sure he thrived with his class! My Daughter is now 20, a student at Howard University majoring in Media Broadcasting Journalism with a GPA 4.0. My daughter was 2 months prematurely. Like my son they said she would not thrive with her class. Again with the help of Temple Head Start we made sure she thrives with her class.I want to give thanks to the entire staff from 1998 - 2008. I truly appreciate you all.If you are looking for a head start for your child where the staff loves and cares for your child as if they are their own. Then stop looking because you have found your head start program Salvation Army Temple Head Start!!!”
“Great store with good options. Just know staff has a tendency to be unfriendly and cold, but not necessarily rude. They will help if you ask but probably won't be happy about it.”
“Whether you are a beginner looking for a fine vintage suit or looking to add a bit of flair to finish your look, Richard and team have you covered! I’ve been several times and the store always offers something new to add to my collection. Stop on by and experience this charming curated collection for yourself.”
