“Helpful with a return. Love their products. Maybe get better quality receipt paper so when we have to return something it won't be faded after 2 weeks in a purse.”

“Charles is a God-send! He walked me around to ensure I could get everything before the NEX closed. Not many stores show that level of care or dedication to their customers.”

“NO FROZEN FOODS. They shelves are BARE 5/17/25. There is plenty of parking and the store has a good selection of items - sometimes. If this store is weak on selections, your best Dollar Tree is going to be the one on Little Creek Rd. The 2nd to Little Creek is Ocean View at Granby. A lot of Dollar Tree stores can't carry frozen foods due to a large grocery store being in the same strip mall, and that puts Dollar Tree in competition with the grocery store which is an anchor store to that strip mall. An example is the Dollar Tree at Southern Shopping Center.”

“After checking out Naval Station Norfolk, my boyfriend and I checked out the Norfolk Main Navy Exchange (NEX). If you've never been, it's like a department store! They sell everything from clothing and accessories (including hats, scarves, jewelry, handbags), electronics, cookware, seasonal decorations (including christmas trees and nutcrackers), and more. My boyfriend was in search of a beanie while I was in search of a cool-looking Navy shirt. We found a nice beanie but not a cool-looking Navy shirt. However, I'll admit that the Hard Rock Cafe Navy hat was kind of cool!”

“To the General Manager... The guy closing the store on August 2 2023 deserves a raise. Today is my second day in Virginia and i had to buy something extremely important to me and i thought you guys closed at 10. I got there and the guy met me at the door and asked me if i wanted to come in and he said "one minute' meaning he was willing to let me get what i needed before he closed. No other store or employee in my 44 years of life has done anything like this. going above and beyond to do his job and still have a great attitude about his job and towards custmers he dont even know. So, yes, This employee you have right now deserves recognition and im not talking about a simple thank you for being a Dollar General family member or a pizza party... He deserves a raise. Employees this good are seriously and extremely hard to find and you should let him know how thankful you are for having him on board.”

“I had two very different customer service experiences at Home Depot and Lowe's, and the contrast couldn't have been clearer.

On my first visit to Home Depot, I was looking for PVC fittings for a DIY curtain rod project. I didn't have the broom handles with me, but I had a picture and explained what I was trying to accomplish. After spending a long time walking the aisles trying to find someone to help, an older associate finally assisted me. Based on the picture, he recommended several PVC fittings. I purchased them, took them home, and discovered they didn't work.

The next day, I returned with the actual broom handles so I could find the correct fitting. As I walked in, another associate asked if I needed help. I explained that I had been there the day before, showed him the broom handles, and explained what I was trying to do. He immediately told me he didn't know why I had been advised to buy the previous fittings because they weren't designed for what I needed. He then said he didn't think Home Depot carried anything that would work.

When I asked if he could walk with me to the PVC aisle and help me look—especially since this was my second trip—he simply told me to go to aisle 9. I went, searched again on my own, couldn't find a solution, returned the items I had purchased the previous day, and left disappointed.

I then decided to try Lowe's.

The difference was night and day.

A young associate named Jabari greeted me and took the time to understand my project. Instead of pointing me to an aisle, he stayed with me, compared different PVC fittings to my broom handles, and patiently worked through the trial-and-error process until we found the right solution. He was knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely invested in helping me succeed.

That is what outstanding customer service looks like.

Many customers who walk into a home improvement store don't know exactly what they need. They rely on the knowledge and willingness of employees to help them solve a problem. Jabari didn't just tell me where something might be—he partnered with me to find the right solution.

Lowe's, thank you for hiring employees like Jabari. I sincerely hope he receives the recognition he deserves for his professionalism, patience, and commitment to helping customers. Employees like him build customer loyalty, create repeat business, and positively impact your company's reputation and bottom line.

Because of this experience, Lowe's earned my business.”

“Walmart neighborhood markets are a great option for grocery shopping and typically will be less crowded and have shorter lines than regular Walmart stores. This particular neighborhood market is very clean and fairly well stocked. They offer significant savings over other grocery retailers. There was no shortage of associates on the floor on my recent visit but they were in the process of stocking shelves. This location is typically very clean and offers the majority of foods that I purchase. I wish they would offer more plant-based meat options. On this visit the only thing I could find was plant-based meatballs. I also prefer the shorter shopping carts that are easier to maneuver and they don't appear to have any. This location offers the majority of items that most people shop for on a regular basis and plenty of parking is available.”

“General store for quick trips. This is one of the better looking stores, looking neat and organized. The prices have steadily increased over the years, but it's still a good place to shop. The staff is helpful and polite. They're usually stocked with the items I need but I have noticed cutbacks on sizes with increases in prices. The sales and bounceback coupons help a lot.
I have noticed that the clothing selection has changed- not too many new styles.
Overall I like this location better.”

“Stopped by so my daughter can renew her ID. Interesting to see the ID office inside the NEX. Starbucks was nice and clean, decent service. They ran out of the kiwi strawberry lemonade in the afternoon though.”

“The general manager has done such an awesome job cleaning up the store, hiring really nice cashiers and stockers! I never would go in that store years ago because it was so raggedy! But it is so nice now and clean and there's so many cool items that are new! Kudos to the general manager for turning the store around, she has a pretty great personality herself! I'll keep shopping here as long as she's in charge!!!”

“Great place for you and your squad to drop when looking for lots of loot. Found an epic bud light bottle there once. Inside what is known as the tilted towers of Norfolk. Great overall spot”

“This walmart on Tidewater Dr. is amazing. Whatever you want or are looking for, 9 times out of 10, they will have it. The staff are wonderful, and one in particular is one of the best staff they have, I would address her by her last name with Ms. preceding her last name if I knew it. It is so rare for a walmart associate to earn my most sincere respect in that manner.”

“Danielle and Von were SO helpful to me when I came in looking for some items and was in a hurry. They were absolutely fantastic, kind, professional, and as friendly as can be! I also noticed that the store was IMMACULATELY clean! It seem like all the other ones are cluttered and not that clean, but every time I come to this store, everything is put away properly on the shelves, and it’s just simply always immaculately clean! 5 stars!”

“This store was absolutely beautiful and well stocked. Friendly employees! Prices higher than Walmart but I really did enjoy the ease of getting in, finding the items I was looking for and then the check out process was definitely quicker than Walmart but it was an off time. In the middle of the day and on a week day so not a lot of customers to deal with. But I must say, I will return for future shopping. I wonder how it'll be this tax-fee weekend. I'll let you know afterwards.”

“Solid gas station experience. The people that work the registers are talented and friendly. They are usually short staffed but they’ve made every effort to not let that affect them. Gas prices tend to be on par with out in town or a couple cents cheaper. Liquor is provided at the package store so there should be no negatives put on them since that’s a Virginia/the south thing.”

“Super helpful staff. Sometimes there’s a wait when you call for refill information, but that’s to be expected at most pharmacies since COVID-19. Overall super helpful and friendly staff.”

“***Thank you Hunter***

I wanted to express my sincere appreciation for the exceptional service I received during my recent visit to Walmart, particularly from an outstanding employee named Hunter. While seeking recommendations for mosquito and bug repellent for outdoor activities, I encountered Hunter, who, despite his role in maintenance, demonstrated an unparalleled level of product knowledge and customer dedication.

Hunter went far beyond the typical scope of his duties. Upon approaching him, he not only offered insightful advice on suitable fragrances and products but also personally escorted me to the relevant section. He meticulously explained the benefits and features of each item, showcasing a deep understanding of outdoor-related gear. This level of engagement and expertise is a rarity, and Hunter's proactive approach made my shopping experience remarkably efficient and satisfying. His commitment to ensuring all my needs were met was truly commendable.

It is clear that Hunter possesses a unique talent for assisting customers with outdoor products, and his knowledge significantly exceeds his current role. I strongly believe he would be an invaluable asset to a department focused on outdoor goods, where his expertise could be fully utilized to benefit both the company and its customers. Hunter's exceptional service has not only changed my perception of Walmart's customer care but has also guaranteed my return. Hunter needs a raise, and he deserves recognition with a title that reflects his profound understanding and passion for the outdoors. This was, without a doubt, the best Walmart experience I have ever had.”
