Why was Brian so exceptional throughout the entire transaction?
Education - I navigate life by making data informed decisions. When it comes to buying a home, it's all about the numbers. Brian consistently crunched the numbers and provided a variety of options to make my home buying dreams come true. Not only did he help make sure I stayed within budget and found a variety of options to help my dreams come true, he also took the time to educate me on what everything meant. I'm a first time home buyer and even some of the simplest terms (yes I Googled first), Brian explained without any judgement. Brian really cares about his clients and ensures they have the information they need to make decisions that works best for them.
Brian uses videos to help explain how he breaks down the numbers. When he crunches the numbers, he shows a variety of options to ensure I stay within budget. These breakdowns is something I greatly appreciated. I could see what was covered and what wasn't covered so I could budget appropriately. When discussing with friends, they said no matter how many times they bought a home, they didn't receive this level of detail. I was shocked! It seems like this should be standard however it truly goes to show how Brian goes the extra mile for his clients so they can make informed decisions.
Trust, Advocation & Support - What really solidified my bond with Brian was how he advocated for me during the negotiation stage. Brian is well informed about all aspects of the home buying process and in collaboration with my realtor, they were able to help me close on my first home. Brian cares about you. He ensures that you are saving your money and doing the most with your money. It's easy for mortgage brokers to just 'do their job'. Brian does more than just his job, he truly looks out for the best interest of those he works with.
I shared my experience with other friends and family that have bought homes and by far, they were impressed hearing my experiences with Brian. It's so easy to get ripped off when it comes to loans and money in general. To work with someone you can truly trust and know they really have your best interest in mind (not just a marketing ploy), makes a HUGE difference.
Leadership & Empathy - Brian takes initiative. He gets out in front of any potential issues and if issues do arise, he gets them resolved quickly and with quality. Brian kept me informed about the status of my loan throughout the entire process. We had a long escrow which benefited myself and the seller. That could lead to more opportunities for things to fall through the cracks. Not with Brian. Brian & his team are organized and communicative. They stayed on top of everything to ensure the process went as smoothly as possible. There were videos to educate me about each step of the process and to share what was coming next. Brian and my realtor were in a text thread too so I received personalized updates as well.

“Great business bank. I have had my software company with them for over 3 years now and the service is excellent. Jenny is extremely responsive and has helped ensure my business is optimally set up with both a business checking and money market account. Their online banking systems are great, allowing me to easily transfer funds between accounts and automate payroll and bill pay. They just released a new mobile app which has all the accoutrements of a big national bank such as mobile deposit upload, ACH pay and account transfers. I love having all the tech I was used to at my old big bank but with the excellent secure of a community business bank. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a solid business bank that treats you as a partner rather than a commodity. Thanks first foundation.”

“Financial transactions in Honolulu, Hawaii...My cousin needed a new debit card from American Savings Bank (ASB). I knew about this location because I kept looking at it from across the street last year when our Jaycee group participated in the Dragon Boat Races at Aala Park. Besides being one of the sponsors, ASB also had a very spirited team! I told my cousin that we should go to this Aala Park "Campus" location because it had free covered parking and is a new building! Yes... the interior is very pleasant and clean. There was an employee in the parking structure - acting like a guard and/or guide. Inside, another employee asked if we needed help - I think he was screening us for possible loitering because we were chatting on one of the sofas.Well - it was a successful visit. My cousin was able to finish his transactions successfully. If he needs to return, I would choose this Campus Branch again.”

“When I went there they were like 15 min to close and I needed to get something done real quick. Despite them almost closing the staff was still dedicated to helping me and meeting my needs. “Best customer service I've every had through out the years, whether in person on over the phone, they are always helpful and friendly. It's not a bank in Hawaii so you can only do brokerage stuff (can do banking part online though). As long as you aren't dealing in cash it perfect. Also NO ATM Fees (I think up to $10 per month) so I never worry if I need cash.”

“I visited their Beretania location today to help an elderly family member and was pleasantly surprised.
First, I'll start off by saying that the location is very convenient. It's in town and only a couple mins away from multiple freeway off-ramps. There is also tons of ample parking, which is super hard to come by on this stretch of Beretania. Additionally, the facilities are super clean. There aren't any stray bits of trash or even leaves/lawn trimmings in the parking lot. The lobby is nice and cool, a refreshing note in comparison to the hot pavement outside. And it's also very up to date (not dingy like some other lobbies).
I've been to this location a few times before, mainly outside to help other friends or family with the ATM. I know that it was actually broken a couple of the times that we had visited, which was a bit of a bummer. But I'm happy to report that everything seems to be fixed!”
