“My 1997 Saturn SL2 was not passing smog and I had been trying all of the inexpensive fixes. My numbers did get better and the car felt as if it were running better, but my hydrocarbon numbers for the 15 mile and hour test were still 6 points too high. The only thing left was to replace my catalytic converter. I had gone to El Camino Mufflers 6 years ago and had my catalytic converter replaced when my check engine light went on. (This time the light was not on.) He did a great job then, but I had to wait a couple of days for the part. This time when I pulled up he wasn't busy. It was during the day on a week day. He told me that the prices for catalytic converters had gone way up, which I knew, and it would cost a lot more than $200.00 like 6 years ago. Fortunately, he was able to get a catalytic converter that fit my car delivered in about 20 minutes, and in less than an hour he replaced it. He found me a chair to sit on while I waited. It did cost me $695 this time which I had expected. He showed me the old one and it was full of carbon and explained to me that all old cars burn a little oil and carbon builds up in the catalytic converters. He said I would likely need a new one in 2 years the next time I needed it smogged. I took the car back to the smog check place and my car passed with flying colors. I highly recommend this shop.”

“He diagnosed problems very quickly and fixed my car. This was a very satisfying experience I've never had in the US! Long story: I bought my car in IL. I didn't know much about car so bought a pretty bad car. And then repaired it for 3k dollars charged by Honda shop. After moving to CA, the brake pad got worn and I went to Honda of Stevens Creek. They said the Honda in Urbana-Champaign used an aftermarket part that is not compatible, charging me 3k dollars again and complaining they can't connect parking brake, which was apparently a scam. I got upset and towed my car to another local shop (Moe's brake in Sunnyvale). And the local shop was even worse. They said they fixed it. But this car started making a different noise, and I finally went to this place. Chang immediately showed me what is wrong with my car and how poor the mechanics did their jobs. Basically one parking brake was not connected at all, and the other didn't work, caliper was messed up, bolts were loose or not screwed at all, etc. He fixed it within a day, and now my car does not make any noise. Also, he explained what he changed with detailed photos with very reasonable price. While other mechanics lied that I have to change parts to connect parking brake (or they are just extremely poor), Chang figured out why it was not possible, adjusted configuration, and resolved it.”
