“The best deli evvver, I get the egg and cheese on a roll, always fresh and well cooked. The staff are the best, friendly and can’t do enough for you. Love from the English lady. See you next year xx”
“I’ve come here for many years. They pack a lot into this little shop. Especially great if you want to pick up something extra for a trip to Film Forum. Super nice people, fair prices, and Prince is the coolest, friendliest, most dedicated cat in NYC. Can’t beat it ??”
“They are the best deli in Chelsea as a food quality and customer service and taste,Nona makes the delicious smoothies I love island impact smoothie thank you for everything”
“This might technically be the second location of this miniature Japanese Supermarket chain in NYC, but it's easily the best of the two. One of the main reasons why is that, unlike the other location, they have one very distinct option that is not available on East 59th. That would be Omusubi Gonbei, a delicious onigiri/omusubi/rice ball (or should I say jelly-filled donuts) chain from Japan. Otherwise, there is the typical Brooklyn Ramen joint found in both spots, and a nice, wide selection of drinks, snacks, ingredients, and other things. They have a few more options from Osakana as well, an excellent sushi/sashimi place, with its main location being in the East Village. I slightly prefer the prices at a couple of other Japanese supermarket chains, but they have a nice selection that I find to be always well-stocked. The staff is friendly and helpful, also.”
“RECOMMEND STORE TO ALWAYS GO TOO!!! Very respectful and kind people. They always have me leave the store with a smile on my face. I will always support them I love you guys!!!”
“After trying most Delis around Central Harlem, this is BY FAR the best Deli in the area. Chopped cheese is amazing. and I sincerely recommend the gyro, although all sandwiches are incredible. Worth mentioning every sandwich comes with 1 free soda. Staff here is great as well.”
“The staff is friendly and always greet you with a smile. My mother went in a few times in one week for their chicken salad while she was visiting. Also, their COFFEE!?!?! The perfect start to your day! It wakes me up and tastes lovely!”
“Been going here for thirty years, good selection on real foods and decent prices. Service has always been wonderful even despite most of them only speaking Spanish. Theres always someone there to translate.”
“Great local store with an excellent selection of goods and a very pleasant team.
Impressive offering of gluten free options, in fact easier to navigate and better than Wholefoods for GF items.
If you’re staying downtown and need reliable gluten free items this is a great place to head.”
“Very nice shop with lots an lots of great beers. Not only the beers are wonderful, the service of the nice people who work here is outstanding and the prizes are very reasonable. If you like good beers and nice people, this is your place!”
“((4.25 stars for the tacos))
it's been a minute since i have been to Ben's Deli. ownership changed; renovated, and have expanded their deli / grill offerings while reducing their taco offerings. if you didn't know Ben's just a few years ago was an old school deli / corner store where there would be different taco pop-ups serving up a limited menu of the Mexican street food. these days Ben's is a new modern looking deli / mini grocery that still serves tacos but just chicken or beef, now. the tacos are made from scratch, so you getting fresh food which takes a little bit more time than your typical fare. for some reason you can only order tacos in twos or threes, but you can't order three tacos without ordering a can of soda. ordered a trio of beef tacos which were well worth the wait. the tacos use thinly shaved flakes of seasoned beef; topped with chopped onions, a sprinkling of cilantro, & thin slices of avocado; and each taco is double tortilla'ed bc each taco is filled to the max. slices of limes are included. the beef is savory, moist, and flavored well. the double layer of corn tortillas taste like actual corn. the onions add texture and the avocados add smooth fattiness. the tacos are fresh hot food. the rest of Ben's outside of the tacos is pretty a standard deli/grocery; large menu of cold and hot foods; shelves filled with a variety of snack foods, refrigerated units filled with soft drinks and adult beverages plus some household goods. though i wish the taco menu had options like carnitas or al pastor and more from the past. i do find it strange that you can only order two tacos w/ no soda OR three tacos with a soda--no solos or a trio without soda. weird policy, but the taco guy made an exception for me and didn't force me to get a soda. there was a a back-n-forth with the cashier who wanted to charge me whether I got a soda or not. strange. but hey whatever...the tacos here are good and make for a satisfying dinner or lunch! not sure if the tacos are just a permanent part of the deli offerings or it's just a pop-up, but either way…it’s a worthwhile stop for the tacos if you’re hungry.”
“We stopped by on a rainy day after walking over from the Museum of American History, and my friend’s daughter needed to change her wet top. We asked if we could use their bathroom, and the staff didn’t hesitate for a second — they were incredibly kind, welcoming, and understanding. Such a small act of generosity really made our day. Thank you for the warmth and hospitality!”

“A place where everyone knows your name if you say hello! Perfect beer selection and prices, A+ vape and and cigarette selection. Glass etc for smoking is the cherry on top.”
“This place has quickly become a go-to in my neighborhood. When everything is overpriced, plus I'm pretty sick of everything in the area, this has been godsend for variety.Their breakfasts are served all day, and they are great. Props for the breakfast wraps. Their paninis come with a can of soda and chips. To me, this is one of the best deals in Manhattan. I also love that they have RC Cola in cans!”
“I have been coming to this smoke shop from past 4 years now and they always amuse me with great deals. Ari is so so helpful and knowledgeable about his products. Their quality is fire….Definitely recommend this for smoke lovers looking for some real good authentic products.”

“Great food and the Halal menu is where it’s at. Good for small groceries and sometimes even a few surprise items. The guys that run it are very nice and as a black man I am never made to feel un comfortable or as if I am being rushed out the store or anything. My go to every time I am in the area. (TIP: Go early mornings and you get first pick of their fresh fruits and their smoothies and yogurt bowls are so good. Great variety for all pallets.”

“Cerisse was excellent! The Taiwan embassy needed photos showing ears, not only did the photos I took before got rejected, the new ones from this cvs worked. I’m so grateful for Cerisse’s patience and help. I got a working passport photo for my passport and the best customer service. Store and staff was excellent.”
“I just have to shout out this incredible convenience store — what a gem! The service was absolutely immaculate; the staff was friendly, fast, and genuinely helpful. On top of that, the prices were unbeatable, especially for Lower Manhattan. It’s rare to find this kind of value and hospitality in the city. Definitely my new go-to spot! ??”
“The owner and staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming - they’ve become a part of the neighborhood. The store is always spotless and well-organized, and they stock unique snacks you can’t find in other stores around here. It’s always great to stop in.”

“Always so kind and helpful. In the late fall I was looking for Christmas lights, because I put up my tree a bit early in the season. They didn’t have their stock out yet, but went into the back to find me a couple of boxes and even tested them to ensure they worked correctly. What a gem!”
“Love this bodega!!! Everyone is very kind and helpful. Great inventory from cleaning supplied, drinks including wine / beer, candy, and groceries. This is my go to spot!”
“I lived right around the corner for a year during college, and this spot was a go-to. I highly recommend the chicken over rice—make sure to ask for chipotle mayo on top of the white and hot sauces. It’s not the best deli in NYC, but the vibes are immaculate. The deli guys are super friendly and fun, even at 3AM, which makes late-night stops all the better. Be advised they don’t sell alcohol.”
“Would definitely recommend this spot to anyone in the area! Extremely friendly staff, welcoming environment, affordable prices, and insane food! As a college student looking for a late-night spot over the summer, I can confirm that I have gone to Bahamas Deli almost every single night for Chef Alberto’s BBQ chicken hero (with mushrooms, of course)! And it’s so good that I have no intention of going anywhere else for dinner anytime soon. Just try it; you’ll thank me later :)”
“My favorite magazine shop in the city!! They always have the latest edition of the economist and foreign affairs. Such a huge selection and lovely staff that are always willing to help. See little Lucy!!”
