With more and more people into the keto diet, many fast-casual restaurants are changing their menus to meet their "special" needs. Chick-fil-A is one of several restaurants to add dishes that are keto-friendly for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The keto diet means you eat foods that are higher in fat but lower in carbs, which makes the body burn fats rather than carbs. You cannot have high carbohydrate foods like potatoes and bread. The diet also shuns sugary foods. Chick-fil-A offers sandwiches, French fries and sweet dipping sauces, which keto dieters must forgo.
Chick-fil-A suggests keto dieters to order its breakfast sandwich with egg whites, bacon, sausage or grilled chicken. Remove these items and toss out the English muffin or biscuit to avoid eating the carbs. For a non-breakfast item, Chick-fil-A recommends the bun-less Grilled Chicken Club Sandwich for a total of three net carbs. Most of the company's dressings are only one to three net carbs, which means you don't have to shun them on the keto diet.
