Brooklyn residents will soon see another Target in the area.
The retailer announced in February that it would open a smaller format store for the Midwood borough. The store is set to open in fall 2018 and be located along Kings Highway. It will be the New York City area's fifth small format store. Another small format store is scheduled to be built in Bensonhurst in October and another opened in City Point in January.
The new store format takes up 37,700 square feet, has two levels and is like other compact locations in that it focuses on meeting local residents' needs.
Target's Senior Vice President of Properties Mark Schindele said the company is ready to expand in the Brooklyn area to meet guests' needs. He said the community will appreciate the shopping experience it has to offer with an exceptional collection of products that Target can offer.
The location in Midwood is just one of many small stores the company is focused on offering in the next three years.
